Poinsettia Garden Background

Hello everyone!  Time seems to be going by faster, as we reach the end of the year. There are only 10 days of 2016 left ! It’s TaeEun here today sharing two Christmas cards using our Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp. Hope it’s not too late to show you some Christmas cards for your inspiration 🙂 !

Today I want to share how I achieved the look of focal points on my cards using a background stamp.

On my first card I used highlighting technique. I stamped and heat embossed Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp in Liquid Platinum once on a watercolor cardstock and again on a silver cardstock from which I cut out three circles in different size using my cutting machine. I then colored the watercolor panel with Zig brush markers and Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens for a shiny look. The silver panel was then mounted using foam adhesive.

The sentiment is from Scripty Holiday Greetings. I heat embossed it in white on a dark red cardstock, cut it in a banner and adhered it on the card. To finish off I added Shimmer Pico Embellisher on the berries.

For the second card I chose an area from the Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp where a big beautiful poinsettia is placed as an outline image. I heat embossed it in silver on a watercolor cardstock and colored it with Zig brush markers and Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens, this time in pink. On the berries I added white Pico embellisher. I then made a front panel to cover the remaining area by cutting a shimmery silver cardstock using Double Stitched Rectangle die and Double Stitched Circle die and foam mounted it on the card, after I adhered the watercolored panel on the card base.

The sentiment is from the Scripty Holiday Greetings. I heat embossed it in white on a brown cardstock, cut it and blended some Warm Hazelnut Dye ink on the edges. To finish off I scattered a few sequins from Purple Ballgown, Royal Garden Party Couture Mix and Glass Slippers Sequins.

That’s it from me today! Hope you enjoyed my cards!

Wishing you all happy and joyous holidays!!!

Two fabulous cards TaeEun and the colours are so bright and pretty. I love the way you have used the background stamp and highlighted parts with your beautiful colouring to place behind the circular windows. The first is more ornate with the platinum embossing on the front, whilst th second is simpler but looks great with the stitching round the rectangle and the circle. x

Absolutely GORGEOUS cards, TaeEun! The silver panel on your first card is so elegant, and I love how you added dimension to the flower petals with your Zig markers on both cards…so stunning!!!
