Coral and Gray

Hello everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start! It’s TaeEun here. Today I have three floral cards in coral and gray color combination to share with you.

I think coral and gray is a beautiful and elegant color combination. It was on my to-do list for a while and finally I decided to give it a try on my cards for this post. I used Coral Collection and Pewter Collection of Couture Colors for this color combination.

For my first card I used Fresh Cut Garden Roses as my floral element and Geometric Lattice Cling stamp for the background.

I started off by stamping the roses from Fresh Cut Garden Roses in layer using Coral Collection inks and the foliage in gray using Pewter Collection inks. I die cut them all out using coordinating dies  and set them aside. For my background I used emboss resist technique. I stamped  Geometric Lattice cling background stamp in embossing ink on some watercolor paper and clear heat embossed it. I tapped a bit of Peach Blossom and Crystal Pewter  dye ink on some clear acetate sheet, added a spritz of water and applied the colors on my background panel (ink “Smooshing” technique). I then added some ink splatters in Peach Blossom. But the “smooshed”colors were too light for me so I decided to go with ink blending over it. After I blended Peach BlossomCrystal Pewter  and Smoky Quartz on the clear heat embossed background panel, I cut a rectangle frame using Double Stitched Rectangle dies from it and blended more gray inks on the frame, keeping the right bottom corner darker. To place the roses I created a small circle window and a circle frame blended in Crystal Pewter using Double Stitched Circle dies. I blended Peach Blossom ink on the card base where the circle window would lie on. To assemble all the elements, first I foam mounted the rectangle frame and then adhered the front panel flat on the card base after I arranged the roses peeking out from the circle window. The sentiment is from the Fresh Cut Poppies Outline stamp set. I stamped it in Light Onyx on a piece of card stock on which I blended Peach Blossom and Crystal Pewter  inks as well. To finish off I scattered some sequins from I Dream in Peach Couture Mix.

Next two cards are featuring some lovely die cut flowers cut using Petal Cut Peonies Standalone dies. I made two different backgrounds in coral and gray color combination and added white die cut peonies on them.

To create the background for this card I blended Peach BlossomCrystal Pewter  and a little bit of Smoky Quartz inks on my front panel first, before heat embossing the solid peonies and leaves from Wild Peonies stamp set on it. I added more inks again after heat embossing to show off the images. I cut a rectangle frame using Double Stitched Rectangle dies, foam mounted the frame on my card base and added the rectangle panel flat.

Next picture shows my card on this stage. I thought it could make a pretty card as it is, of course with a sentiment :), so wanted to show you this.

I die cut lots of Peonies and foliage from white card stock using Petal Cut Peonies Standalone dies. I then played with these gorgeous flowers to find out an arrangement I liked. The sentiment is from Scripty Greetings stamp set, white heat embossed on some black card stock, fussy cut and mounted with foam adhesive. I finished off the card by adding some sequins from Cinderella’s Ride and I Dream in Peach Couture Mixes.

Let’s take a look at the last card ! This was made in similar way like the second card.

theton0227-3-7wm

The background here was created using same technique like the second card. But this time I clear heat embossed the Minor Stripes background stamp. I added two circle frames I cut with my cutting machine to give the die cut flowers something to sit on. I blended it in coral and gray as well. The sentiment is from Scripty Greetings stamp set.  For this card I adhered two small Clear Dew Drops in addition to some sequins from Cinderella’s Ride and I Dream in Peach Couture Mixes. Love the effect of those Dew Drops!

Poinsettia Garden Background

Hello everyone!  Time seems to be going by faster, as we reach the end of the year. There are only 10 days of 2016 left ! It’s TaeEun here today sharing two Christmas cards using our Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp. Hope it’s not too late to show you some Christmas cards for your inspiration 🙂 !

Today I want to share how I achieved the look of focal points on my cards using a background stamp.

theton1220wm

On my first card I used highlighting technique. I stamped and heat embossed Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp in Liquid Platinum once on a watercolor cardstock and again on a silver cardstock from which I cut out three circles in different size using my cutting machine. I then colored the watercolor panel with Zig brush markers and Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens for a shiny look. The silver panel was then mounted using foam adhesive.

The sentiment is from Scripty Holiday Greetings. I heat embossed it in white on a dark red cardstock, cut it in a banner and adhered it on the card. To finish off I added Shimmer Pico Embellisher on the berries.

For the second card I chose an area from the Poinsettia Garden Cling Background stamp where a big beautiful poinsettia is placed as an outline image. I heat embossed it in silver on a watercolor cardstock and colored it with Zig brush markers and Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens, this time in pink. On the berries I added white Pico embellisher. I then made a front panel to cover the remaining area by cutting a shimmery silver cardstock using Double Stitched Rectangle die and Double Stitched Circle die and foam mounted it on the card, after I adhered the watercolored panel on the card base.

The sentiment is from the Scripty Holiday Greetings. I heat embossed it in white on a brown cardstock, cut it and blended some Warm Hazelnut Dye ink on the edges. To finish off I scattered a few sequins from Purple Ballgown, Royal Garden Party Couture Mix and Glass Slippers Sequins.

Addicted to Coloring #2

Hello and happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a restful and joyful Thanksgiving, if you are in the US 🙂 ! It’s TaeEun here today sharing three cards I made with love to Coloring once again. I’ve named my debut-post as Addicted to Coloring and I thought it would be fun to make another version of that.

Today I used the big tulip image from Lucky Tulip stamp which EunJi from our team has designed. I love coloring bold floral images. And this tulip is definitely one of my favorites. Did you know that we have Dew Drops in our Shop now?  Today’s cards are featuring all three variations of Dew Drops we have : Clear, Seaglass blue and Silver Dew Drops.

Let’s start with this purple card!

theton1128-1-4wm

This tulip was colored using Zig markers and water brush. I added some shade around the flower and splatters all over the water color panel using silver Gansai Tambi which can be seen better in close-up picture. I then cut the panel along the extended axis of the flower and around the flower. For the card base I took a piece of textured purple card stock, stamped the Haute Stripes Cling background in embossing ink and silver heat embossed it. I really like how the texture of the card stock made some pattern on the embossing. I adhered the purple panel flat on the card base and then the water color panel using some foam tape on that. The word fabulous was cut from some purple foam and “YOU ARE” from the Basic Labels was stamped in Noir dye ink on some white card stock, cut and foam mounted on the card. For the final touch I added a few clear Dew Drops mixed with two Seaglass blue Dew Drops.

theton1128-1-cuwm

On my second card I colored the tulip using Copic markers first. After Copic coloring I went in with Polychromos colored pencils to add red details on this yellow-red hybrid tulip and some shadows.

theton1128-2-3wm

I decided to make a front panel with a window for the tulip. So I made a cutting file for that and cut a water color card stock which I colored in green and blue shades using some Distress inks with my Cutting machine. The sentiment from Scripty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Noir dye ink. I added white shadow to it using a gel pen. After I foam mounted the front panel, I scattered some clear Dew Drops on the card and finished it off.

theton1128-2-cu1wm

The last card shows three tulips colored with alcohol inks.

theton1128-3-2wm

To start off I heat embossed the tulips using some silver glitter embossing powder. I masked the tulip in the middle to stamp the other two. I then applied the alcohol inks by dripping and tilted the Glossy cardstock to move the ink in the desired direction. After alcohol ink was dry, I mounted the panel on the card base and added a strip of purple  Glitter Tape. The Sentiment was cut using our Thank You word die from some purple foam and once more from silver glitter paper which I made using our Silver Adhesive Glitter Paper. I glued the silver sentiment on the purple foam and mounted it onto the card.  To finish off the card I added three Silver Dew Drops on the purple glitter strip and scattered tiny flowers from Candy Cane Garden Couture Mix.

Here you can see once again three different coloring projects together: watercoloring, alcohol ink coloring and copic coloring with added details using colored pencils. Which one do you like most? Anyhow I had so much fun making them :).

Yellow Roses

Hello All! It’s LauraJane today with a watercolor card using Fresh Cut Garden Roses. I’ve been in a vintage feeling mood lately, and I found the roses in this set to fit that need.img_2332

…all three of those inks are found in the Citrine Collection

  • I then took the Ziggys and added shadows and more of a watercolored feel to each bloom
  • Created a mask for the cluster and stamped the greenery from Fresh Cut Garden Roses and one image from Wild Peonies. inking with Soft Garden  on the solid images and Everglade Moss Dye on the detailed second layer.
  • I decided to nestle in a few tiny buds from Fresh Cut Garden Roses in the same inks as above.
  • For the background wash; I smooshed some color from the ziggys on an acrylic block and dabbed around the leaves with the waterbrush.
  • Hit it with some DARK brown splatter
  • Inked the sentiment from Scripty Greetings in Dark Roast Dye
  • Finished by running it through the BigShot using the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies
