Layering Techniques with Bluebonnet Stencils

Hello friends. Happy February. Vera here bringing you some inspiration on behalf of The Ton as we entered this second month of the year. Today, my cards are featuring Bluebonnet Layering Stencil set. After all, being a Texans I should showcase our state flower. 🙂

For my Bluebonnets I used Azurite, Periwinkle and Meadow. Finished with inking up the flowers, I die cut them using Coordinating Bluebonnet die. For the card above, I die cut a frame using Inner Scallop Nested die. I also used the die as a mask to color the opening with Hollywood Star. Adhere scallop frame with foam adhesive followed with the flower. Stamp sentiment from Heartfelt Blossoms. Finished with some enamel drops.

I actually ended up with 3 cards. Not what I was planning. I originally planned on making 1 card and in my head did a field of Bluebonnets. But, once I finished with the flowers, my need for CAS kicked in. Hah! So, here’s a couple more cards.

And, finally another variation that I paired with Postage Nested Die frame. I have to admit, I am not good at cleaning my brush. So, sometimes the color that showed up is not pure, but I am not that picky about it. I figure some left over color as long as they’re from the same family, it’s okay.

That’s all I have for today, peeps. I wish you all a lovely week. Till next time.

OH, my goodness, Vera! These are so stunning! I often hear you say you don’t clean your brushes… do you have one set just for The Ton inks? I’m always afraid I’ll ‘contaminate’ my ink pads! [in fact, I have ruined a few by using a brush that had been used for oxide inks – oy!] I LOve the unique colors you achieve!
