Hi Friends. Vera here. As it’s almost the weekend, how about some fun card to hopefully inspire you to get creative this weekend. I’ve been trying to show more love to older sets that I have. After all, I am keeping them for a reason, because I love them. So, for today’s card I am mixing the old with the new. For my card here, I am using the newly release Sand Dollar Coverplate Die with an older set called Magnificent Magnolias (apology as I am working on my post, I found out this set is discontinued, but The Ton has other gorgeous magnolia set like Magnolia Fields that can easily be use as replacement).

To start I die cut the background using Sand Dollar Coverplate Die. I think the result is simply gorgeous, that I actually almost use it just as is. But, since I have my heart set to use the magnolias, I went ahead and stamped, colored and die cut the image from Magnificent Magnolias set.

Adhere the sand dollar background to the card base and then simply arrange the flower on top of it. Adhere with foam adhesive. For the sentiment I used the thankyou sentiment from Rose Labels set. I do reach out for this set a lot, just because I feel like it has that modern, clean look, which I love.

Well peeps, that all I have for today. Short post as it’s been a super hectic week for me and I am trying to spend some time away from the computer. Till next time and to all my friends who are celebrating it, happy Lunar New Year!!

I like the card overall, except for one thing. The black sentiment. To me, it takes away from the softness of the card, and looks like a last min addition.
If it were in a coordinating color on white or a soft gray, I think I would like that better.
Too often we see these wonderful pastel cards and then the sentiments are plopped down in black and white. For me, it ruins the gentleness of the card.
But as I said, I really like the card, except for the sentiment. Sorry bout that…

Beautiful card, I love your color combination, which I would never have thought of! And I have that magnolia stamp set; I, too, need to pull it out and give it some more love. And I’m going to get the Sand Dollar cover plate.
