Happy Holidays – Blue Poinsettia

Hello, friends and happy Friday!! Brenda here with a holiday card in non-traditional colors!! I just love adding a pop of an unexpected color on my Christmas cards!!

I started by stenciling the Jumbo Poinsettia Layering Stencils and Pine Branch Berry Layering Stencils onto white cardstock with Cali Blue, Azurite, True Navy, Red Sangria, Lipstick Red, Soft Garden, Deep Emerald, Aspen Cocoa and Noir inks. I used the Jumbo Poinsettia and Pine Branch Berry coordinating dies to cut them out.

For the background, I stamped the Speckled Background Stamp onto a panel of white cardstock with Cali Blue ink. The panel was die-cut with the second largest die in the Rectangle A2 Nested Die Set and a panel of pinkish-red cardstock was cut with the largest die in the same set. I snipped the branch apart and arranged it around the poinsettia, then adhered both of them to the background. I’m loving the look of some of the elements extending beyond the edges of my cards…I’ll just send them in a larger envelope.

The sentiment, from the Ribbons Holiday Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with Red Sangria and Lipstick Red ink, then cut out with the Coordinating Die and trimmed into a strip. It was popped up with foam tape, for dimension. Bright Green Opaque Gems, along with some green glitter glue, add a pop of green and a bit of sparkle to the center of the poinsettia.

That’s it for me today!! Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!!

Brenda
