Pink Rose

Hi friend. Vera here on this fine Tuesday bringing you inspiration on behalf of The Ton. Today, I want to showcase this gorgeous Mega Garden Rose Layering Stencil set.

To start, I ink blending Hollywood Star and Grand Fuchsia for the rose. Yes, I really only use 2 ink for the rose. For the 2nd layer, I simply layered up and ink the Hollywood Star a bit harder to get the deeper shade.

Die cut the rose with Mega Garden Rose coordinating die. For the leaves, I used Meadow and Spring Salad ink with Dahlia Leaves Stencil & its coordinating die. I just like the size of the leaves on this set, so even though I know it’s not leaves for rose plants, I used it anyway. For the card base, I don’t want to be just plain white. So, using a toothbrush, I splatter some pink watercolor on it. Let dry. Then I arranged and adhered all the pieces on it. For the sentiment, I stamped the word thinking of you from Sweet Bouquet set and use the alphabets from Modern Alphas Coverplate Dies to create the word love.

As I was making this card, one thing I realize though never forget to look at the sets you already have. I completely forgot about this alphabet dies set and as I was trying to decide what set to use, I just started to look at all The Ton sets I have and again and again I am reminded oh, this is a cool set, ooh, I forgot about this one, etc. It seriously almost like I went shopping all over again. Hah! And it’s nice to shop at your own craft room. So, yep, my tip of the day, don’t forget to shop through your own stash and give older sets some love.

That’s all for me today. I hope you have a great day wherever you are. Cheers.
