Let It Snow – First Day of Winter

Hello, fellow crafters!! Happy First Day of Winter!! How was your last weekend before Christmas?

I have a card to share with you today that celebrates the first day of winter!! (Even though I’m not a winter girl…lol!!)

I began by working on the background…I swiped purple and blue alcohol inks across a panel of Yupo paper. After it was completely dry, I white heat embossed snowflakes from the Blizzard Hugs Stamp Set onto the panel. (Just be careful, if you don’t keep the heat gun moving you can melt the Yupo.) I trimmed down the panel slightly and adhered it to a top-folding white cardbase.

Next, I die-cut the sentiment using the Many Sentiments (Holiday) Coverplate Dies, Tall & Skinny Alphas Coverplate Dies and the snowflake using one of the Blizzard Hugs Dies. I cut the top layer from silver glitter paper and each of the same dies four times from white cardstock. I stacked and adhered them all together for lots of dimension, then added them to my card front. That’s it!!

I love these soft colors for the first day of winter and the glitter cardstock adds just the right amount of sparkle!!

Thank you so much for spending a bit of time with me today!! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2021!!

Brenda
