Peony Fields x 2

Hello crafty friends!! Here in the Midwest, we finally saw break in the heat this week and I am thoroughly enjoying it!! The humidity here has been unbearable, so the cooler weather has been welcomed with open arms!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today…each features a different technique using the Peony Fields Cling Background stamp.

Peony-Fields-1

This first one uses Tombow markers to create a watercolor look…

Peony-Fields-3

I started by coloring directly on the Peony Fields Cling Background stamp with Tombow markers, spritzing it with water and stamping it onto Bristol paper. I absolutely LOVE this watercolor effect!! After the panel was completely dry, I die-cut it using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Sm) and splattering on some black paint. One of my all-time favorite sentiments, from Large Peony 4, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock. A few Glass Slippers Sequins add a bit of sparkle.

The second card was created using ink pads…

This look is best achieved by using a MISTI or another type of stamping tool. I simply used sponge daubers to “dab” a small amount of ink onto the Peony Fields Cling Background stamp and then stamped it onto Bristol paper. I just repeated “dabbing” and stamping until I achieved a look that I liked. The inks that I used were: Bleach Blondie, Amber Citrine, Soft Garnet, Red Sangria, Soft Garden, Bright Fern, Cali Blue and Caribbean Turquoise. The rest of the steps are the same as the first card.

That’ll do it for me today!!! Take care!!!
