Summery Cards

Hello crafty friends! Hope you’re having a great week so far! It’s TaeEun here today with three summery cards I made using new items from Summer 2019 Release.  Effie released five new stamp sets recently. I used four of them for today’s cards.

First two cards are featuring three ocean themed stamp sets: Ocean Free, City Girls: Sunkissed Mermaids and City Girls: Summer Sunshine. I love the refreshing and authentic designs!

Let’s take a look at the first card which is showcasing Ocean Free set and the mermaid tail from City Girls: Sunkissed Mermaids.

I started off by white heat embossing the scene on a watercolor paper panel and colored the image using Color Burst. The mermaid tail was heat embossed in Rose Gold  on a separate piece of white cardstock and colored in rainbow colors of Zig brush markers.

I cut the panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die and stamped the sentiment from City Girls: Sunkissed Mermaids set on the beach in Noir.  I cut a slit along a wave in the ocean to put the fussy cut mermaid tail into it. The mermaid tail was then adhered on the back of the panel and the fin was foam mounted on the card front.

I mounted the panel flat on a light blue cardbase and added some Glass Slippers Round Confetti as finishing touch.

The next ocean card is featuring the relaxing girl on the beach from City Girls: Summer Sunshine set.

I started off by stamping the girl and the parasol in black on a watercolor paper panel. I then stamped the scene from Ocean Free set in an embossing ink and white heat embossed it. I didn’t mask the first stamped images. Instead, I brushed off the embossing powder from the image before heat setting it.

I watercolored the scene using Color Burst and Zig brush markers, cut the panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die and mounted it on a light blue cardbase. I stamped the sentiment from City Girls: Summer Sunshine set on some white cardstock in Noir. I cut it into a speech bubble and foam mounted it onto the card.

The last card made using Palm Close Up and Darling Flamingos could be a wedding card or an Anniversary card.

TT0814 1 1 WM

To start off I stamped the Palm Close Up  in Bright Emerald and Hot Tourmaline and clear heat embossed it. I colored the panel with Color Burst and added some golden accents and splatters using gold watercolor. After the panel was dry, I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle dies to a tall rectangle and set it aside.

The flamingos from Darling Flamingos set were stamped in Ballet Slippers, Hollywood Star, Cosmopolitan Pink, Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz and fussy cut.

I chose a teal cardbase to go with the palm leaf. I adhered a strip of Adhesive Gold Glitter paper on the right side of the cardbase and added the palm leaf on it. I foam mounted a white circle cut using a small Double Stitched Circle die and added the flamingos on it. The sentiment from City Girls: Summer Sunshine set was white heat embossed on a thin strip of black cardstock. To finish off the card I scattered some Medallion Gold sequins.

That’s it from my side! Hope you’re having a wonderful Summer like the girl in my card :)!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

TaeEun
