Holding Onto Summer

Hello, crafty friends!! I refuse to believe that summer is coming to an end!! As long as the temperatures are warm, it is still summer to me…ha!

I have three cards to share with you today!! Two are definitely summer-themed!!

Let’s get started!!

girls-just-wanna-1

I began by stamping the palm tree and clouds from Ocean Free stamp set onto a white cardstock panel with Caviar and Arctic Sky inks. I also stamped the girl on the beach towel and the umbrella from City Girls: Summer Sunshine onto another piece of white cardstock with Caviar ink. I colored all of the images with Copics and die-cut the panel with the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Die (Lg), then fussy cut the girl and umbrella. The sentiment, from City Girls: Sunkissed Mermaids, was white heat embossed onto a black cardstock strip. The sentiment strip, girl and umbrella were all popped up with foam adhesive.

My second card was created pretty much to same way…

This time, I stamped the background with the Ocean Free stamp set again and the mermaid using City Girls: Sunkissed Mermaids. The sentiment is also from the Sunkissed Mermaids set. I added some white Amplify to the waves, which “puffs up” when you add heat to it.

On to my third card…

Palm-leaf-1

For this one, I stamped the Palm Close Up onto white cardstock with Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, then colored it with Copics. The second largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lg) was used to die-cut the image and it was matted with black cardstock. The sentiment, from Coming Up Daisies, was white heat embossed onto a black cardstock strip. A few Glass Slippers Sequins add a bit of sparkle.
