Holiday wreath with Thankful Cornucopia

Hello and Good Friday, it’s LauraJane today. I have a quick Wreath to share with you created using a few small stamps from Thankful Cornucopia.

To make the Wreath:

  • I started out by lightly drawing a circle onto white CS.
  • Stamped around the circle using Lofty Mint Dye ink and a small leafy branch
  • Then I stamped around a second time with Cali Blue Dye ink and another branch stamp
  • And one more time around using  Soft Garden Dye ink and the first leafy branch stamp
  • From Holiday Confetti, I found some “berries” and stamped them in Parisian Blue Dye ink…then added a single dot for each berry with a blue marker.
  • Next I stamped and colored three of the tiny flowers from Thankful Cornucopia using Ziggys and set them aside.

Then I grabbed the Rose Terrace Cling Background and inked it in the MIST with similar shades of Distress inks and gave it a good spritz of water for a lovely watercolor background.

I hope this inspires you to create something you LOVE today!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, everyone!!! It’s TaeEun today sharing two cards with you.

Even though I’m not familiar with Halloween and don’t celebrate myself, my kiddos are excited about the parade and parties at school. And  I couldn’t let you go without a halloween card today 🙂 !

My halloween card is quick and easy to make. At first I stamped HALLOWEEN using the letters from Vogue Alpha Upper with embossing ink on a watercolor cardstock and clear heat embossed it. I then added the rainbow colors using Gansai Tambi watercolor. On the card base I blended yellow, orange and red distress inks and foam mounted the watercolor panel. I borrowed the sentiment HAPPY from the Brushed Merry stamp set which I white heat embossed on a purple cardstock and cut in a fishtail banner. No halloween card without a pumpkin! The little pumpkins are from the Thankful Cornucopia. I heat embossed them in brown on a scrap of white cardstock, colored them using Zig markers and cut with coordinationg dies. After I adhered the Happy banner and pumpkins with some foam tape I added Glossy Accents on the pumpkins and so finished the card.

Now to the main actor for today! You may know already how much I love coloring floral images. I’ve shown on my first DT post watercolor, alcohol ink and colored pencils as coloring medium on my cards. Today I used the Copic markers to color those purple poinsettias.

To start off I stamped the cluster of poinsettias from Fresh Cut Poinsettias Outlines stamp set in Rose Quartz and the extra leaves in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake dye ink on a white cardstock, while masking whenever needed. I stamped a poinsettia on a small piece of a white cardstock too. I then colored them with Copic markers. I used for purple leaves V04, V06, V17,V09 and B18 and for green leaves and for the center of poinsettias YG11, YG03, YG17 and YG67. I added soft gray shade around the image and cut out the panel of the poinsettia cluster and the frame with a craft knife. I kept the width of the frame in 1/4″, which is the width of our thin Silver glitter tape. So I could adhere the Silver glitter tape on the frame.

Next up I prepared the card base by blending Soft Garden and Rose Quartz dye ink. I then mounted the colored panel on the card base using some foam adhesive. For some dimension I foam mounted my extra purple poinsettia which I colored and die cut using the coordinating die. The “merry” was cut using our Holiday Word dies  once from a purple fun foam and once from a cardstock on which I adhered some Silver glitter adhesive paper. I glued the silver glitter merry on the purple foam and adhered it on the card. I really like this lovely font of Holiday Word dies !!!  The “CHRISTMAS” is from our Christmas Poinsettia Mini stamp set. I silver heat embossed it on a purple cardstock.

To finish off the card I scattered a few sequins from Glass Slippers and Royal Garden Party Couture Mix. For some sparkle and shine I added Crystal Stickles on the center of the poinsettias and clear Wink of Stella on the poinsettia leaves.

That’s it for today! I hope I could inspire you with my cards. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful day whether you celebrate the halloween or not!
