Always Cherry Blossoms

Hello and Happy Friday, everyone! It’s TaeEun here today with a watercolored floral card! I pulled out an old stamp by The Ton – Always Cherry Blossoms – and created a one-layer card! As we (in the northern hemisphere) eagerly await Spring, I thought it would be a great time for a card featuring cherry blossoms!

We also have exciting news. Effie has designed layering stencils for this beautiful Always Cherry Blossoms stamp set for the upcoming release. So, please stay tuned 🙂 !

I began by stamping the Always Cherry Blossoms image on a watercolor paper panel using Caviar hybrid ink, which is watercolor-friendly. I stamped the image on the upper half of the panel and a part of the image on the right bottom corner.

Next, I watercolored the image, starting with negative painting – it means, the background first. For a contrast to the bright flowers, I chose dark colors with a hint of purple – moon glow, sodalite genuine, and imperial purple.

I then colored the flowers in bright pink, the leaves in two tones of green, and the twigs in brown. Afterward, I splattered white opaque ink on the entire panel and let it dry.

The sentiment is also from the Always Cherry Blossoms stamp set, stamped in Noir

I cut the panel using the largest die from the Double Pierced Rectangles A2 Nested die set and adhered it to a white A2 cardbase.

Some Soft Pink Gems were my finishing touch for this card!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
