Fabulous Sunnies

Hi everyone, Lisa here.  Today I’d like to share a couple cards with you that I made using one of my favorite stamp and die sets from The Ton’s last release.  The Sunnies coordinating set is so fun for summer cards, glamour cards and I today I even tried a shaker card!

First I’d like to show you a colorful card where I used all three pair of sunglasses to make a one layer background.  I started out by stamping two pair of sunglasses along the right edge of some white cardstock with The Ton’s Copic friendly Caviar ink.    Then I used Caribbean Turquoise to stamp the heart shaped pair.  Using copic markers I colored in the lenses and other parts of the glasses.

I mixed a little Caviar ink with water and then with a paintbrush I flicked some black specks over the finished panel.    I trimmed 1/2″ off the left side of the card front then added a thin strip of paper that had been stamped with the Haute Stripes Cling Background stamp and Caribbean Turquoise ink.  A strip of The Ton’s pretty Silver Glitter Adhesive Paper was added along the left side of the 4.25″x 5.5″  folded card base then the stamped panel was adhered to the front of the card base with dimensional tape.

On a strip of black cardstock, I stamped and embossed one of the fun sentiments in this Sunnies stamp set using Hampton White Pigment ink and Ranger Superfine White embossing powder then added it to the top of the card.    To top it off I added a few drops of white Nuvo drops.

For my second card today I stamped and embossed some 29’s using the Sparklers Alpha stamp set, Hampton White pigment ink and Ranger White Superfine embossing powder.  Then I blended some pink inks over the whole card front to create a beautiful ombre affect using Ballet Slippers, Hollywood Star and Cosmopolitan Pink inks.    I created a window in the card front using the Modern Labels die set.  I love that beautiful stitching!    On the 4.25″ x 5.5″ folded card base I stamped some stripes using the Minor Stripes Cling Background stamp and Soft Amethyst dye ink.  I adhered the pink card front to the striped card base using fun foam for dimension.

I used one pair of the Sunnies glasses and once again, I stamped with Caviar ink and used Copics to color in the flowers.  Then I used a craft knife to cut out the lenses and finally I used the coordinating die to diecut this image.  I also diecut a piece of transparency film and glued it on the back of these diecut glasses.  I added small strips of dimensional tape around the cutout lenses in the back, making sure there were no gaps between the tape.   I carefully placed some of The Ton’s Pink Diamond Mix in the striped window then adhered the glasses over them to create a shaker element.

To finish this card I added a double bow to the top of the card with some black and white bakers twine.   It ties in well with the black frames on the glasses and the embossed sentiment strip.

I hope you liked these cards today.  These Sunnies won my heart and I hope yours too!
