Good morning, Jess here! Christmas is in a few days and as usual, I have procrastinated and pushed way too many things until the last minute…yes I admit, I have made well over 125 Christmas cards this year and have only gotten around to mailing 5…I’m ashamed. 😦 So as I’m spending more and more nights up late wrapping presents, baking cookies, or doing one million other holiday-related tasks I’m relying on a steady stream of caffeine to keep me alert. Well alert might not be the best word…awake but not necessarily alert. 😉 Anyway, I thought I’d make myself a motivational card from my cup of coffee…
I LOVE that sentiment (and not only when I’m exhausted and sleep-deprived)! I definitely had polka dots on my mind when I designed this card! I inked the Polka Dot Cling Background stamp with a layer of versamark and then a layer of Caviar Hybrid ink and then stamped it onto a piece of teal cardstock. I used the layer of versamark so that I could heat-emboss the dots with clear embossing powder for a little shine. I die cut the teal cardstock with a scalloped edge and then mounted it onto a black card base.
Next I stamped the tea cup from Tea Party with the same ink onto white cardstock and added the polka dot layer. I also stamped the steam heart on vellum and heat-embossed it with a clear glitter powder. I fussy cut the the cup and the steam and adhered them together. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Caffeine Crush sentiment set onto a vellum banner and attached it over the cup.
As I start working on my next batch of Christmas cookies I’ll drink more coffee and think of this card! 😉 I hope all of your last-minute holiday preparations go smoothly and are filled with caffeine! Just remember, you can do it!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous week!
Great card Jess! Love the blue and the polka dots but I love how you created the heart-shaped steam over the cup!
