Hello crafty friends!!! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there 🙂 ! It’s TaeEun here today with a Mother’s day card and a Thank you card!
I colored the florals using alcohol inks in two different ways. I love to color large flower images using alcohol inks and The Ton’s floral stamps are just right for this technique! For today’s cards I used Peony Duo and Coming Up Dahlias sets.
Let’s get started!
To create my first card I started by coloring a Yupo panel using Copic refills R22, RV25 and YR04. I stamped the peonies from Peony Duo on Yupo panel, before I colored the panel, to see where the colors should go. I left the stamps stuck on the MISTI to gold heat emboss the image, after the Copic colors were dry. After heat embossing I cut the peonies using coordinating dies and set them aside.
I did watercolor wash on a mixed media paper panel in Cerulean Blue and stamped the solid leaves from Large Peony 5 onto the panel in Soft Garden and Bright Fern while the watercolor wash was still wet. I splattered some gold ink on it. After the panel was dry I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle die and mounted it on a cardbase. I then placed the peonies on it using some foam adhesives
The sentiment is from Peony Duo and Coming Up Dahlias sets. I white heat embossed two sentiments on black, added thin strip of Adhesive Foil paper Gold underneath the black strips and foam mounted them onto the card. I finished off the card by adding some Medallion Gold and Glass Slippers sequins.
My second card is almost an one layer card.
I gold heat embossed the Coming Up Dahlias on an alcohol ink cardstock and colored the image using alcohol inks. I applied the colors directly from the bottle on large areas and colored the small areas using a micro applicator. The colors I used are Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, Valencia, Limeade and Botanical. I splattered some gold mixative on it and let the panel dry.
I then dry embossed the panel using the coordinating die. The sentiment is from Peony Laurel set. I gold heat embossed it on a strip of vellum and added it on the colored panel. I colored the sentiment using a white glaze pen. I like the opaque white on the sentiment! It is a little bit raised and shines in real life 🙂 ! I added two Glass Slippers sequins to finish off the card.
That’s it from me today! Hope I was able to inspire you with my cards!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!
