Daisies

Hello and happy Thursday everyone! It’s TaeEun here today!

I’ve made two floral cards to share with you using Fresh Cut Sunflowers coordinating Outlines stamp set. But I turned the sunflowers into pink and purple daisies! I so wanted to color the sunflower images in other colors than yellow. I decided to pretend they are daisies, so I could color them in rainbow colors 🙂 !

First I colored the flowers from Fresh Cut Sunflowers coordinating Outlines stamp set with Copic markers and added details using Polychromos colored pencils. Btw we have Polychromos pencils in Boutique section in The Ton shop, if you need some! I stamped the flowers in Ballet Slippers and the leaves in Soft Garden. For the first card I drew the long stem. I then die cut the flowers using Coordinating dies and fussy cut the greenery.

Set the colored images aside, I prepared two different backgrounds.

To make the background for my first card, I started off by white heat embossing the rectangle frame from Modern labels stamp set several times on a watercolor card stock. I then colored the panel in yellow and blue using smooshing technique and splattered some purple ink. After the panel was dry, I foam mounted the background panel on the card base, attached the stem on that, and adhered the flowers using some foam adhesives.

The butterfly is from Beautiful Butterflies 3. I white heat embossed it on some watercolor paper, colored it with Zig brush markers and die cut with Coordinating die. I borrowed the sentiment from Dearest Peony stamp set, which I white heat embossed on a strip of purple card stock. The butterfly and the sentiment strip were foam mounted. To finish off I scattered some sequins from Kiwi Smoothie and Summer Skies Couture Mix.

For my second card I used the Chandelier as an embellishment to place my flowers on it. I stamped the Chandelier in embossing ink, heat embossed it in Rose Gold and cut it with Coordinating die. I die cut one more chandelier from a purple fun foam and glued it underneath the rose gold chandelier. I adhered a A2 sized panel of a silver card stock on my card base and placed the chandelier on the center of the panel.

I then arranged the flowers and leaves as shown in the picture. I foam mounted the big flower for some more dimension. The sentiment was cut from a black card stock on which I adhered Adhesive transparent Glitter paper. I foam mounted the hello die cut using tiny foam adhesives. I finished off the card by adding tiny clear sequins from Amethyst Quartz Couture Mix on the chandelier.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at The Ton Stamps! May your day be filled with those you love, enjoying all the best motherhood has to offer!

Janette here sharing 2 cards that aren’t specific to Mother’s Day, because let’s face it, as much as I always like to be prepared, I’m not. I cover myself by making cards like these that are versatile and can be personalized on the interior of the card to suit the occasion. In this case, Happy Mother’s Day is stamped on the interior of the second card, “Wishing You All Kinds of Happy.”

Today’s cards feature Hello Hummingbird (+ die), and from the newest release, Wishful Wildflowers and Modern Labels (+ dies). Both are watercolored, one with a no-line effect and the other heat embossed in Gold.

This no-line watercolor card utilizes a heat embossed Modern Label direct onto the Wishful Wildflower image. Be sure to let the watercolor fully dry before embossing or stray specks of embossing powder will create a hot mess.

The hummingbird is 7 layer stamped in Soft Garden, Deep Emerald and Deep Sapphire for the wings/chest/beak. The back/head is Warm Hazelnut and Coral Cavern. The Throat is Valentine Red and Lipstick Red. You can see a video on the layering technique Effie created here.

The final touches include Coral Necklace Couture Mix sequins and the most awesome glitter adhesive paper. It has so much depth, but is glossy with a silky smooth finish. No stray flakes here, they are all sealed in! And self-adhesive, YES please!

Card two uses the same images, but changed up just a bit. Instead of no-line, it’s heat embossed. In place of the Modern Label stamp, a Modern Label die is used.

The chipboard die cut shape was then heat embossed 3-4 times with Versamark ink and Gold embossing powder. Easy as can be, just let it cool to the touch between layers.

The Hello Hummingbird also has a touch of heat embossing of his own. The first layers, the wings/chest/beak areas are in Cali Blue, Deep Sapphire and Noir. The back is in Hot Tourmaline and embossed in clear embossing powder for the detail layer. The throat is first two toned in Coraline and Valentine Red, and the detail layer is in Lipstick Red.

Couture Mix sequins from Curtain Call and a white embossed sentiment strip finish off this beauty.

Thank you for visiting today and don’t forget to submit a card for the current Ton Challenge for your chance to win $50 gift code to the shop!
