Scenic Birthday Wishes

Hi friends. Vera here to bringing you inspiration on behalf of The Ton as we get ready for the weekend. Today, I am featuring one of the scene stencil set that was part of our Summer release, Glacierscape Layering stencil.

I am using quite a mix of inks to create this scene. For the like am using Caribbean Turquoise, Cali Blue, for the mountain I used Miami Cool, Azurite and Deep Sapphire. For the sky I used Lemon Drop, Amber Citrine, Grand Fuchsia & Iris Blooms. I basically just have fun playing with the color.

And, actually for the bottom side of the card, I decided to add some of the trees from Mountainscape Layering Stencil just to add a bit of brightness from the green to the scene. I draw some birds as well to finish the scene. Lastly add sentiment from Toned Squares (which sadly already been discontinued).

That’s all I have for today peeps. I hope you enjoy today’s card and as always I wish you all a happy weekend. Cheers…

Landscape Layering Stencils

Hello everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start! It’s TaeEun here today with a trio of landscape themed cards.

In the Summer 2024 Release, Effie introduced nine new layering stencil sets, including three beautiful landscape-themed sets that I want to showcase today.

I stenciled three landscapes as described below and made them into cards to share with you.

You can find the detailed stenciling instructions for each stencil set on The Ton online store. Effie shows where to apply each color for a great result!

Mountainscape Layering Stencils

This stencil set includes three stencils for the sky, for the two layers of the mountain landscape and for the three layers of the forest. For some layers, you need to cover parts of the stencil.

The sky can depict a sunset, sunrise, or even the moon at nighttime. I chose a sunset for my landscape. I stenciled the sky from the Sun outwards using Coralline hybrid ink, Dolled Up, Iris Blooms, and a bit of Azurite. For the first layer of the mountains, I mixed Soft Ash and Cali Blue, and for the second layer, I used Periwinkle. The three layers of the forest were ink blended with Soft Garden, Deep Emerald and Everglade Moss. Lastly I inked the sun in Lemon Drop

To turn this stenciled piece into a card, I cut the panel using the largest die from the Double Pierced Rectangle A2 Nested die set and adhered it to a white cardbase. The sentiment from the Baroque Frame stamp set was stamped in Noir, cut using a die from the Double Pierced Ornate Nested Die set, and added to the card using foam tape.

Glacierscape Layering Stencils

To stencil the Glacierscape, I used a similar color scheme as the Mountainscape. This set includes four stencils. There are one layer for the sky, two layers for the snow covered mountains, two layers for the green areas and two layers for the reflection on the surface of a lake. A small stencil is also included for adding shade to the clouds.

I stenciled the sky in Coralline hybrid ink, Dolled Up and Iris Blooms. The light blue parts of the mountains and the lake were done in Cali Blue, and blue part in Periwinkle. The green areas were stenciled in Soft Garden and Everglade Moss. I added some light shades to the clouds in Cali Blue. I then inked the sun and around the sun in Lemon Drop, and also added a bit of yellow shade to the lake’s reflexion of the Sun.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Always Cherry Blossoms stamp set in white directly on the stenciled panel and adhered it to a white cardbase. To frame it, I cut white cardstock using the largest die from the Double Pierced Rectangle A2 Nested die set and created an oval window with the Oval Nested die set. Lastly, I added the frame to the card using foam tape.

Beachscape Layering Stencils

For the Beachscape scene, I started by stenciling the sky with Lemon Drop directly around the Sun, then added Coralline hybrid ink, Dolled Up, Iris Blooms and Azurite. For the three tones of blue I used Cali Blue, Azurite and Periwinkle, for the three tones of green, I used Soft Garden, Deep Emerald and Everglade Moss. The two layers of sand and for the stem I used Warm Hazelnut and Found Topaz, and the stones were stenciled in Soft Ash and Periwinkle

To add interest to this beachscape scene, I cut three circle frames from the stenciled panel using the Double Pierced Circle Nested die set, as shown in the picture. I adhered the negative piece and the circles flat on a white cardbase and added the circular frames using foam tape. The sentiment is from The City Girls : Summer Sunshine set, stamped in Deep Sapphire in the bottom right corner of the card.

I finished off all three cards with three Deep Blue Opaque rhinestones

It’s so easy to create beautiful landscapes in multiple colors using these layering stencils. I hope you enjoyed the cardmaking process as much as I did!

Thank you so much for visiting!
