Climbing Peonies

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far! It’s TaeEun here today with a stenciled floral card. I pulled out the Coming Up Peonies stamp and the Climbing Peonies Layering stencil set to make today’s card. My favorite colors for flowers are coral pink, blue, and purple, but for this card, I stenciled the peonies in pinkish red. I have to admit that the layering stencils make cardmaking so much faster and easier, even though I really love to color the flowers myself 🙂 !

To begin, I stamped the Coming Up Peonies stamp in Noir and again in embossing ink, then heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder. I love the added shine of the clear embossing, and it eliminates the risk of ink smudging.

I stenciled the image using the Climbing Peonies layering stencils. For the first layer, I used Bubblegum and Lipstick Red, for the second layer, Deep Peony and Cherry, and for the third layer, Wine. The leaves were stenciled in Matcha first, and I added a bit of dark shade using Italian Denim.

Once done with the stenciling, I cut the image using the coordinating die and set it aside.

To create the background, I started by creating a watercolored background panel. I loosely watercolored a watercolor paper panel in pink, let it dry, and dry embossed it with the Dome Frames Slim Borders coverplate die. Next, I splattered white opaque ink on the panel and adhered it flat on a white cardbase.

I cut a frame using the Dome Nested dies from some soft pink cardstock and white fun foam, adhered the foam frame under the pink frame, and added it to the card.

I added the floral image into the dome frame using foam tape. The sentiment is also from the Coming Up Peonies stamp set. I stamped it in Noir and cut it using the Quick Labels die

To finish off, I scattered a few Soft Pink Gems

That’s it from me for today! I hope you could find some inspiration from my card!

Thank you so much for looking!

Hello crafty friends! Hope your week is off to a great start!

It’s TaeEun here today with a fiery floral card featuring Coming Up Peonies. I colored this beautiful peony cluster from Coming Up Peonies set using Copic markers. I tried a new color combination.

I started off by stamping the image in Copic friendly Caviar hybrid ink. The peonies were colored in R30, R32, R37 and R89 which create beautiful coral shade. The leaves and stems were colored using V91, V93, V95 and V99. These V colors are very similar to warm gray colors with a touch of violet.

After coloring was done I cut the image using the coordinating die and set it aside.

I wanted a dark background. At first I tried a black panel but changed my mind and blended a coral to black ombre on a white panel. I used Coral Cavern, Peach Blossom, Grape Crush , Smoky Quartz, Light Onyx and Noir. I let the panel completely dry and stamped the Modern Plaid background stamp in an embossing ink on it. I then applied Mandarin Perfect Pearls powder on it using a dry paint brush. The powder sticks on the embossing ink and creates a subtle shiny pattern. I added water to the same powder and splattered it onto the panel. I also splattered white opaque ink.

After the panel was dry I cut it using the largest Double Stitched Rectangle die and adhered it on a black cardbase. I then foam mounted the Coming Up Peonies image on it.

The die cut sentiment was cut using Love and Hugs word plate die from Glossy Fine Black Adhesive glitter paper and from some black fun foam. I raised the black glitter die cut on the fun foam and added it onto the card. I finished off the card by adding some Glass Slippers sequins.

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!!!

It’s TaeEun here today with a Valentine’s Day card. I combined the beautiful floral image from Coming Up Peonies stamp set with the lips from Smooched stamp set to make today’s card 🙂 .

I started off by stamping the middle sized lips from Smooched stamp set on a watercolor cardstock. I left the stamp in the MISTI tool and stamped the lips again on my white cardbase in Red Sangria Hybrid ink. To add more shine on the lips I clear heat embossed it.  I then stamped the floral image from Coming Up Peonies on the watercolor cardstock after masking the previously stamped lips inclusive the area around the lips.

I watercolored the peonies in purple – I used blue violet, red violet and pink tone. To make the background more vibrant I colored the background in Cerulean Blue and Violet Color Burst powders. I splattered white opaque ink on the background and let the panel dry.

I cut the lips on the colored panel using the coordinating die and cut the panel slightly smaller than A2 size using Double Stitched Rectangle die. I then foam mounted the panel onto the cardbase on which I stamped the red lips so that the lips peeking through the die cut window of the colored panel.

For the sentiment I used Penned Sentiments and Basic Banners set. I silver heat embossed the banner and stamped the sentiment in Noir. I then cut the banner using the Coordinating die. I stamped a smaller lips from Smooched set in Red Sangria ink on a scrap of white cardstock, clear heat embossed and die cut it, and adhered it on the right end of the banner.  “sending” was stamped directly on the colored panel. The sentiment banner with the small lips was foam mounted onto the card. I added one red sequins from Valentine Icing Couture Mix on the left corner to balance the two red lips on the right side and scattered  a few Glass Slippers sequins to finish off the card.
