Cosmos Hello

Hi friends. Happy Friday! Vera here. Today I have a gate fold card to share using one of my favorite, Climbing Cosmos Layering Stencil set.

I decided to color the cosmos with various ink. I used Deep Peony, Grand Fuchsia, Soft Amethyst, Irish Blooms, Beach Blondie, Coralline Hybrid, Soft Garden . Once done with the coloring then I die cut the image using Coming Up Cosmos dies. Put the piece aside. Fold the card base into gate fold. Now, for the base, I decided to tilt the stencil in various partial angle using the same color mix.

Actually, when I saw the result on the card base, I almost didn’t want to cover it at all, because I thought it looks really pretty. At the end, I stick to my original plan of adding the cut out piece as top layer. I am very tempted though to repeat this card base, because I sure do love the way it look. Anyway, I adhere the cut out cosmos with foam adhesive. I only applied the adhesive to half of the flower, just on the the right side and left side that laid over the left gate is clear from any adhesive. Finish the card by stamping the hello sentiment from Coming Up Morning Glories set.

I hope today’s card inspire you to get in some creative time this weekend. I’ll be taking my mom to visit a nursery as I want to plant some colorful flowers for our office plant containers and of course, I’ll be putting in some creating time as well. Here’s to a wonderful weekend and may something good happen to you this weekend. Cheers friends…

Climbing Cosmos

Hi all. Vera here. Today I am excited to share a couple cards that I made using The Ton Climbing Cosmos Layering Stencil set. I love, love, love this set and just been having fun playing with it. Here’s my 1st card.

To start I die cut the flower using Coming Up Cosmos die. Next, I used Climbing Cosmos Layering Stencil with Orchid Crush, Dolled Up, Cherry, Lemon Drop, Coralline, Meadow & Evergreen. Once this done, I put it aside and work on the card background. For the background I used Many Mums Cling Background stamp with Soft Amethyst and stamp it directly to the card base. Next, I used one of the leftover frame I have from my previous card that I die cut using Rectangle A2 Frames Slim Borders Coverplate Die. I figure using a frame would help ground and highlight the flowers.

For the sentiment I used one of the sentiment from Easy Sentiment set. Finished by covering the image with shimmer marker. Now, on to my 2nd card. I used the same stencil set and for the colors I used Bright Emerald, Hot Tourmaline, Orchid Crush, Dolled Up & Evergreen.

This time, for the background I used patterned paper. I love the black and white against these colors. For the sentiment again I used one of the sentiment from Easy Sentiment set. Added some shimmers and finished by adding some Dew Drop Clear Enamel Dots.

I think I prefer the 2nd card because I just love the color combo. How about you? I hope you enjoy today’s cards and get some time to craft this week. That’s all I have for today. May your week starts off in a good way. Have a wonderful week everyone.
