Holiday Trio

Hi friends. Vera here. Today I am sharing a trio of holiday cards. I hope they inspires you to start working on your Christmas card stash. For my card, am featuring a few layering stencils. I used Berry Bits Layering Stencil, Winter Foliage Layering Stencil, Christmas Bows Layering Stencil and Pine Cones stamp set. Originally, I plan on doing 1 card. However, once I die cut all the pieces I realized that I can actually completed several cards. So, of course I went to town with it and made 3 cards.

To color the Berry Bits I used Matcha, Spring Salad and Dolled Up. For Winter Foliage I used Spring Salad and Bright Emerald. For Christmas Bows I used Dolled Up and finally for the Pine Cones I used Warm Hazelnut, Found Topaz and Spiced Chai. Of course, I’d encourage you to use any colors that you love. Experiment and if needed used unusual color combo.

Anyway, once I am done with the stenciling, I die cut them with the coordinating dies of each set. Put aside all the pieces. Using one of the circle from Circle Nested Dies, I die cut a circle on a piece of scrap paper and use this as a stencil to create the circle focal point of the card. Arrange the pieces around the circle. Adhere with glue and some with foam adhesive to create depth. Finish with some enamel drops.

I honestly very happy with the way these cards turned out. Clean and simple is my favorite type of cards. And, when I get to mix several sets in one card, that make me even happier.

Friends, I hope you enjoy today’s cards. With everything that’s going on in the world right now, my wish for you is that you find or see something good today that makes your heart smile. Till next time!

Mother’s Day Card

Hi there! Hope your week is off to a great start! It’s TaeEun here with a Mother’s Day card in a bold color combo, navy and pink!

I used Gingham Plaid Layering Coverplate Dies for the background and placed a little bouquet of carnations on it. For the bouquet I used the outline stamp of the Grouped Fresh Carnations set. The carnations represent the purity of a mother’s love, perfect for a Mother’s Day card!

I started off by gold heat embossing the Carnations from Grouped Fresh Carnations set on a watercolor paper and watercolored them. As the image was heat embossed the watercoloring was so easy and quick. After the flowers were dry I cut them using the Coordinating die and set them aside. The bow was from Christmas Bows grouped layering stamp set. It was stamped in Hollywood Star, Cosmopolitan Pink and Pink Derby and cut with the coordinating die.

Before I cut the Gingham Plaid Layering panels I made an ombre blue (dark blue to white) watercolored panel and let it dry. I cut the first layer of the Gingham Plaid Layering Coverplate Dies from the watercolored panel and the second and third layer from some heavyweight white cardstock. I ink blended the two white die cut layers in Italian Denim, Miami Cool and Cobalt Breeze to match with the first layer.

I then chose a navy cardbase, layered the three layers of the Gingham Plaid on it and splattered white opaque ink.

The Sentiment is from Gladiola Cheer stamp set. I heat embossed it in gold on some vellum, cut one end of it in a fishtail and adhered it on the card. I then added the carnations and the bow on the card using foam tape. To finish off I used some sequins from Midnight Frost Couture Mix and Glass Slippers.

I love the freshness which the contrast of the bright colors gives the card. Hope you like it too!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
