Floral Butterfly Cards

Hi friends. Happy Tuesday. Vera here. Today I have a couple of cards to share sharing another one of my all time favorite set from The Ton, the Transformation set.

I remember when I first saw this set, I was head over heels in love with this set. And, few years later, yep still love it just as much. For this card, I start by stamping & heat embossing the butterfly on a piece of watercolor cardstock. Die cut the piece and watercolor the image. While waiting for it t dry, I die cut the background using Quilted A2 Background die. Adhere panel to card base and then adhere the butterfly.

Finish by stamping sentiment from Heartfelt Blossoms on a strip of cardstock. I love the way this card turned out, so I decided to repeat it and make a thinking of you card as well. I simply change the color scheme.

I am seriously thinking of making a bunch of card using this set, because not only I love the butterfly , but also it really didn’t take that long to make them.

I hope you enjoy today’s cards as much as I love making them. Wishing you all a beautiful day. Cheers…

Pop-up Butterflies

Hi all. Vera here. Ever since I started making cards, there’s one image that I have loved to play with since the very beginning. Butterflies! I love butterflies. They’re delicate and brings so much beauty to this world. So, for today’s card I am using a couple of The Ton butterflies set.

For the front of my card I used Monarch Butterfly Coverplate dies.

I started by die cutting the framed butterfly and then ink blend Cobalt Breeze and Azurite on it. I love doing ink blending because you can get different hues from the same ink pad simply by varying your pressure and the number of ink layering. Once I am happy with the color, I put it aside and did ink splatter on a piece of white cardstock. Let the splatter dry and then layered it with the framed butterfly. Trim as needed and adhere the panel to the card base.

Now, time to work on the surprise inside. When I saw Effie coming out with this brilliant Majestic Monarch Pop Up dies I got so excited! To this day, I don’t know how she figured out the engineering for all The Ton pop up dies. They’re simply unique, smart and one of a kind. I won’t try to explain the step by step to use this dies as I found the best way is to watch Effie’s tutorial HERE. I stamped and colored all the butterflies and then worked on putting the pop-up mechanism together. And, the result…. voila!

How fun is it to get a card with a burst of butterflies when you open it? I keep playing with it and even hubby was commenting on how fancy the card looks!

So, do you love pop up cards? Or have you tried to make pop up cards? Well peeps, that’s all from me today. Hope you’re having a good week and may your up coming weekend be a fun one. Cheers…
