Dry Embossing using Dies – featuring Washi Tapes

Hello and welcome to The Season! Hope your week is off to a great start!

It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of cards I made using our new floral washi tapes. I love love love the floral washi tapes!!! They are beautiful and you have endless possibilities to use them to embellish your projects! I cut out the floral images of the washi tapes and used them like die cut floral elements for both of my cards today. I created the background for the beautiful floral elements by dry embossing the panel using dies.

The first card is featuring Pink Peonies washi tape.

I adhered the Pink Peonies washi tape on a white cardstock and fussy cut the floral clusters from it. I set them aside and started making the background panel.

To create the background I dry embossed a white A2 sized panel using Geo Mountain Coverplate die B. I then applied an embossing ink on the half of the panel and sprinkled Rose Gold embossing powder on the panel and heat set it.

I die cut the sentiment using Bold Amazing Greeting Word plate die and Sweetheart Word plate die from white cardstock. I heat embossed the upper part of “fabulous” in Rose Gold and foam mounted the letters on the background panel. I then arranged the small flowers and leaves from Pink Peonies washi tape around the letters and added “you’re” die cut, stacked three times, on the “fabulous”. I went over the “you’re” die cut with a clear glitter pen to add more shine.

The second card is showcasing Wildflowers washi tape.

Here again I adhered the Wildflowers washi tape on a white cardstock and fussy cut the floral images. The background panel is a shimmer cardstock. I dry embossed it using Double Stitched Circle dies. I also cut a circle frame using two of the Double Stitched Circle dies from a dark gray cardstock as a base of my wreath.

I adhered the dry embossed background panel on a gray cardbase and foam mounted the dark gray frame on it. I then arranged the floral elements I cut from the Wildflowers washi tape in a wreath on the circle frame.

The sentiment is from Painted Peonies set. I white heat embossed it on a circle vellum piece. I adhered the vellum on a gray circle and foam mounted it on the center of the card. I finished off the card by scattering some Glass Slippers Round Confetti.

Dry embossing with dies adds interesting texture on your background!

That’s it from my side today! Hope I was able to inspire you with my cards :)!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful week!

You’re Amazing

Hello everyone!! Brenda, here with you on this Friday morning!! I sure wish the weather here would decide what it wants to do!! It’s been crazy!! 70 degrees one day, then 30 the next. Enough already!!

It was a rainy, dreary day & I decided I needed some bright florals to brighten it up. Usually when I use layering stamps, I use the same color family of inks. I decided to try something different and I love the outcome.

You're-Amazing-1

What do you think? So vibrant!! First, I used the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Die (Large) to cut a white cardstock panel. I layered up the Large Florals: Daisy with Lemon Drop, Coralline and Red Sangria for the petals. For the center of the flowers, I used Lemon Drop & Bright FernSoft Garden & Bright Fern were used to stamp the leaves. The sentiment is from the Bold Amazing Greeting Word Plate Dies. These dies are amazing!! There’s no lining up the letters…they’re already lined up for you!! I popped the entire front panel onto dimensional adhesive and used a combination of Belle’s Dress, Frosted Spearmint, Deck the Halls, Glass Slippers Sequins and Glass Slippers Round Confetti Mix to create the shaker.

For my second card, I wanted to work with the Peony Bouquet set again. I used the bouquet once on a card, but I didn’t get to use the beautiful vase or the coordinating dies.

I started off by heat embossing the flowers from the Peony Bouquet set with The Ton’s exclusive Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I embossed the vase with white embossing powder. I think this is the first time I have used two different embossing powders on the same project, but I really like it!! I colored both images with Zig Clean Color Markers, then cut with the Peony Bouquet Coordinating Dies. The background panel was watercolored with some glitter liquid watercolors. I used the Buildable Woodgrain set, stamped with Crystal Pewter & Smoky Quartz Inks, to create a table top for my floral arrangement. Tha vase is adhered flat to the panel, while the floral bouquet is popped up with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment is from the Most Interesting Card Maker 2.0, and was also embossed in rose gold and cut into a narrow banner. A combination of sequins from the Guava Sparkle & Pink Bokeh Couture Mixes finished off the card.
