Pastel Fall Card

Hi peeps. How’s it going? Vera here today. I decided to take a little break from making Christmas cards and do a fall card instead. After all, I do need to show some love to previously released sets.:)

Lately I really been into pastel color fall card, so that’s what I did with today’s card. I just love using non traditional colors when it comes to making seasonal theme cards. To start, I stamp and heat embossed Autumn Sweater set with white embossing powder. Once that done, I inked each stripe with various color ink pads. From top to bottom the color I used are Bubblegum, Lemon Drop, Peach Blossom, Honey Dew, Soft Garden and Bright Fern. I trimmed the panel once I am done with the ink blending and then adhere it to the card base.

Next, I stamped and colored the image from Autumn Coloring Bits and die cut it with coordinating dies. I choose to use soft coloring . This is just my comfort zone whenever I am short on time. Work been super crazy for me, so I am forced to craft at last minute. And for me soft coloring just so much easier than coloring with bolder colors. Arranged all the parts on the card. To finish, I stamped a sentiment from Heartfelt Blossoms.

Well peeps, that’s all from me today. I hope you enjoy today’s card and hopefully inspire you to use non traditional color as well. That’s what I love about being creative, that there’s really no right or wrong way to use color. Just because it’s fall card, not necessarily means you can only use green, orange, yellow and brown. Besides it makes creating more fun in my humble opinion. That’s all the time I have. I hope your week starts off beautifully. Cheers….

Coral, Gold and Navy

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far!  It’s TaeEun here today with three Thanksgiving cards I made using stamp sets in Folk Art print style from our Fall 2019 Release : Autumn Sweater, Oak Leaf Print and Thanksgiving Block. For today’s cards I chose a color combination which includes traditional Fall colors like gold and brown along with Navy and coral. I was inspired by some Folk Art Print images I found in Pinterest.

The first card is showcasing Thanksgiving Block clear stamp set. The block image is 3.75″ x 5″ leaving a neat border on a A2 panel.

I stamped Thanksgiving Block on a white A2 sized cardstock. I stamped the upper and lower 1/3 in True Navy and the middle part in gold. It was already beautiful without any additional coloring but I decided to go with my colored pencils. I colored the flowers and leaves in coral, navy, light blue and brown and some leaves using a gold gel pen.

To add a bit of shine I covered the images with a clear glitter pen and added white Pico embellisher on the tiny berries. Lastly I mounted the panel on a navy cardbase and the card was finished!

The second card is showing the Oak Leaf Print stamp set.

I started off by stamping the big folk art oak leaf on a white cardstock in Aspen Cocoa, Found Topaz, Warm Hazelnut, Coralline Hybrid and Peach Blossom in an ombre fashion. I also heat embossed the bottom part in a metallic copper EP.

To create the cut out front panel I used the coordinating cutting file for Oak Leaf Print stamp set. I cut it from some white cardstock, ink blended the lower half in Peach Blossom and the upper half in Warm Hazelnut, and cut the panel to a A2 sized one using a Double Stitched Rectangle die.

I adhered the panel with the oak leaf on a white cardbase and foam mounted the front panel. The sentiments are from Oak Leaf Print and Thanksgiving Block set. I white heat embossed them on some navy cardstock, cut them in strips and added them to the card. I finished off the card by adding some Medallion Gold sequins.

The last card for today is featuring Autumn Sweater stamp set.

First I made the background panel. I pulled out an alcohol ink cardstock panel and colored it using Hazelnut, Mountain Rose, Butterscotch, Sunshine yellow alcohol inks and Gold Mixative. I used lots of rubbing alcohol to blend the colors smoothly.

After the panel was completely dry, I white heat embossed the Autumn Sweater stamp on it. I brushed off the embossing powder from the white area of the panel before heat setting as I wanted to leave the area clean.

To follow the color scheme I chose for today’s cards, I ink blended the branches I cut using a die from Petal Cut Peonies Standalone die set which is now retired. I used True Navy, Arctic Sky and some gold ink.

The sentiment is from Thankful Cornucopia set. I white heat embossed the banner and the sentiment on some navy cardstock and cut it using the coordinating die.

I adhered the background panel on a white cardbase, added a nest of golden thread and arranged the branches on it as shown in the picture. I then foam mounted the sentiment banner. I scattered some Medallion Gold sequins again to finish off the card.

How do you think about the untraditional color combination for Fall? I love the fresh impact that the added navy gives to the Fall colors.

Hope I could inspire you with my cards today!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a crafty day!

Hugs,
