A Bear-y Good London Wall

Hello Folks! It’s LauraJane:)

Today I have a card that I call my Bear-y Good “London Wall”….a wall of various frames and picture snapshots for gazing upon. My youngest daughter is loveingly called Emma Bear and she just had a Birthday:) This was for her.

  • I started out by aligning several of the tiny frames from Vintage Frames in my mini MISTI so they would fit just inside an A2 piece of CS.
  • Inked them in the scrumptious Spiced Chai  and re-inked the more ornate frames with just a hint of  Aspen Cocoa . This gave a lovely detail of the tiny carvings on the frames.
  • I then grabbed the Honey Bears stamp set and created the inside “picture”  for each frame, being careful to mask off the frame to keep the snapshot on the inside:)
  • Each image was first inked in various colors from Couture Color – Cocoa Collection and colored in with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers, i.e. Ziggys.
  • the HAPPY BIRTHDAY was stamped in Caviar  and embellished with a few flowers from Red Carpet Couture Mix
  • I trimmed the panel down so a hint of a border could be seen around it. The border was colored with the ziggys to reflect the blue sky in each frame.

Here is a short slideshow of some close-ups:))

It’s Your Day

Hello everyone, Mayline here today to share my card that I made for you. As you can see from the images below, I used our Vintage Frames (which is one of my favorite stamp sets) and Sketchy Menagerie stamp set.

To start off I stamped only the vintage styles frames using Mama Elephant’s pigment ink in “Plumberry” on white card stock. Then I stamped the faux taxidermy moose head on some black cardstock using versamark ink which I then heat embossed in gold . I fussy cut the moose head and taped it down on the card stock. Lastly, I stamped the sentiments from our Sketchy Menagerie stamp set using black ink on the card to finish it off.

Weekend Blog Take-Over With Taheerah Atchia – Day 2!

Hi everyone, and happy Sunday! It’s Taheerah again and I’m back with Day 2 of my weekend take-over of The Ton’s blog! If you didn’t catch yesterday’s post then please do check it out!

The Ton Blog Take-Over - Taheerah Atchia

Today I’ve another couple of fun projects for you featuring several of the amazing stamp sets in The Ton’s line-up!

First up, an outside-the-box use of Pyrotechnics:

Happy Card

Fun, right?!

Happy Card - Detail

I used the largest dot image to create a fun background! And to add some interest, I created an irregular ‘polka dot’ pattern using the reverse of one of the tiny flower images in the Mini Wild Florals set! I love doing fun techniques with the backs of stamps!

My next project showcases all those amazing frames from the Vintage Frames set:

Shine Frames Card

I really love how this one turned out! I heat embossed several of the frames with gold embossing powder for an opulent feel!

You might be able to tell that I love the colour combo of gold, pink and mint/green! I added some of the florals from Mini Wild Florals then watercoloured over some of the other frames. A partially inked sentiment from the Round Diamonds set completes the look!

I’ve absolutely loved being a Guest Designer for The Ton this weekend, and I hope you’ve felt the same! I want to thank Effie so much for having me! If you want to see more of my work please check out my blog, and please also leave a comment on this post! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wild

Hi friends! It’s Rubeena here posting for The Ton. Sorry, I’m a day late, but I hope you enjoyed Jessica’s adorable post from yesterday, where she featured the Vintage Frames set!

I created a fun shaker card with Glass Slippers, Matte Gold, and Shotgun Gray sequins in 4mm. I first stamped the lion from Sketchy Menagerie using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and fussy cut it. I took size A2 kraft cardstock and diecut it using the large die from Mama Elephant’s Peek a Frame Creative Cuts.

I stamped the “hello” and the heart from Vintage Frames and “You make my heart go wild” from Sketchy Menagerie using Hero Arts black ink on the bottom right. Using the hill die from Mama Elephant’s Landscape Trio, I die cut some gaps on the kraft cardstock. I added a size A2 acetate sheet to the back of the pieces, attached foam tape behind the black and cardstock areas, and filled it with sequins before attaching to a patterned paper.

I added the lion to black cardstock and fussy cut with some space around it and added that to the front of the card to finish off the look.

What a unique card for that special man in your life! 🙂

Hope you enjoyed my card!

By the way, you should totally check out Effie’s coloring of these wild animals: the lion, the elephant, and the bear! If interested, maybe you can request a tutorial from her. 🙂 We have been playing along with Kathy’s The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. You can find pictures on instagram with the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Have a great day!

Hang In There!

Hi, Jessica here!  Today I’m sharing a card featuring the Vintage Frames stamp set.  This stamp set has a whopping 41 stamps and includes a ton of sentiments in various fonts.  You can use the frames to highlight a sentiment or as a gallery grouping as I’ve done today!  I love that the frames are also in a variety of styles to suit different themes.  I just love the versatility of this stamp set!

So, here’s my card:

I decided to be a little playful with this card and give it some movement!  I started off by using my MISTI to stamp five of the frames with Hero Arts Gold Shadow ink.  Then I inked up the stamps again with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and dabbed some of it off to give more dimension to the frames.  Then I stamped another frame with the same Golden Glitz ink and heat-embossed it with clear powder.  I added the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink then fussy cut the frame.

To create the swinging frame I taped a little bit of black thread behind the frame in a loop.  To give the frame a more finished look from all sides, I fussy cut a second piece of paper to the same size and adhered it to the back of the frame.  Next I poked a hole through the card front with a needle and threaded a second piece of black thread through the hole.  I looped the second piece of thread through the frame loop and threaded it back down through the hole.  Once it was through I pulled it tight so that the frame was secure and taped down the loose thread.  This allows the frame to swing back and forth with no risk of it coming loose!  I thought the sentiment ‘hang in there’ would be great for a “loose” frame.  To finish the card I trimmed the edges down and framed it with gold glitter paper before adhering it to a top-folding A2 card base!

Thanks for visiting!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see Ruby’s latest creation! 🙂
