Sending Butterfly Hugs

Hi all! Vera here. This past few weeks I’ve been totally swamped with cards as Caring Hearts Card Drive was in full swing and just ended last week. So, pretty much every evening after work I spent my time unpacking and sorting through thousands of Christmas cards.

So, when it times to create, I feel like I need a little break from Christmas cards to avoid feeling burn out. I need some fresh break. Needless to say, I turn to one of my all time favorite from The Ton, the Transformation.

To start, I stamped and heat embossed the butterfly image. Then I watercolor this beauty and once it dry, die cut it using the matching Transformation dies.

Before adhering the butterfly to the card base, I stamped the card base with Delicate Polka Dots Cling Background. I want the butterfly to be the focal point, but didn’t want plain background either. So, this delicate polka dots is perfect for what  I have in mind.

Once that done, I adhere the body of the butterfly directly on the card base and pop up the wing with foam adhesive. Finished by stamping the sentiment (from Peony Laurel set) with gold ink. Clean design with a pop.

Well peeps, that’s all from me today.  I hope you enjoy today’s inspiration as much as I enjoy making it. Thank you so much for swinging by here. Cheers….

Sending Tropical Hugs

Hi peeps. How’ it going? Vera here and today I am bringing a tropical inspiration.

I know, it’s fall season, but I can’t help thinking tropical as I’ve  been feeling homesick lately. I came from a tropical country and I grew up with coconut trees lining up our front yard. So, when I saw this Palm Close Up set, I know I have to have it.

IMG2957.2
I started by inking up the card panel with various ink color. Once that done, I stamped and heat embossed the palm leaves. I just love the way the leaves look. It feels calming to me personally.

IMG2957.1
Next, I adhere the adhesive glitter gold paper to a piece of cardstock and run it through the die cut machine with the word hugs from Love & Hugs Word Plate Dies set. I die cut 3 more set from a plain cardstock  to layer it up to make it stand out more.

Finish the card by die cutting the word sending and adhere it to the card. By using the gold embossing powder it takes what would be a very simple card to a next level where it also looks elegant. Just because something is simple doesn’t mean it has to be boring, right?

I hope you enjoy today’s card and maybe in a small way it also makes you feel relax and dream of the tropical soft breeze.

Oh yes, don’t forget that Caring Hearts Card Drive is in full swing right now. If you’d like to bring joy to others and brighten the elderly Christmas season please consider mailing in some handmade holiday cards to the card drive. The Ton is one of the generous sponsor. Here’s the link for the card drive details: http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.com/2019/10/2019-caring-hearts-card-drive.html

Have a blessed day!

Thankful & Blessed

Hi peeps! What day is it? Hah… Sorry, I can’t help it. It’s hump day!! And I am bringing you mid week inspiration from The Ton.

For today, I am playing with the gorgeous Autumn Sweater set. When I first saw this set, I was like oohh, this would be a fun one to play with and I was right.

IMG2932.3

To start with, I colored a panel of cardstock with various ink pad from The Ton. Starts from the bottom to the top, I used Plum Wine, Cosmopolitan Pink, Coralline, Lemon Drop, Soft Garden and Ocean Teal. I used long strip post it note to mask each stripe (each about 1″ wide).

Next, I lined it up with the stamp’s line, stamped and heat embossed the image with white embossing powder.

IMG2932.2

Then I trimmed the card panel slightly smaller than the card base and adhere it to the card base. I have to admit, this is the rare time I used jewel tone color ink pads and papers. Usually, I am not a fan of jewel tone and was pleasantly surprised that when I was looking at which colored cardstock to use for the base, this teal colored cardstock won. I am really happy at how lovely this card turned out. Great reminder that sometimes it’s good to step out of your comfort zone. 🙂

That’s all from me today, peeps. Hope you enjoy today’s card as much as I enjoy making it. Hope your Wednesday is a good one. Cheers…

Peony Blooms

Hi peeps! How’s it going? Vera here today to bring you some Friday inspirations.

I am still gaga over the latest release from The Ton. So much beauty in one release. Let’s get on with the 1st card, shall we?

I love, love, loovvveee the Peony Laurel. It such a beautiful set. So, for my card I first stamp the the Peony Laurel with The Ton Caviar Hybrid ink pad, die cut it and colored with Copic. Next, I work on the background and stamped the Toned Squares with Blue Diamond and Ballet Slippers.

Trim and adhere the stamped panel to the card base. Then I adhere the Peony Laurel with pop dots. Stamped the sentiment (also from Toned Squares). Then, just when I thought I am done, I saw one chickadee from Nesting Peonies floating between the messy pile on my desk (left over from previous project) and I decided it needed a home. Hah… so, it went on my card and it’s the perfect finishing touches that this card need.

Next, is another floral card. For my 2nd card, I played with Blooming Peony Garden cling background stamp.

IMG_3145 (1)
I inked the stamp with Miami Cool ink pad. This is such a pretty blue, isn’t it? Then I die cut the birthday word using Bold General Greeting Word Plate dies directly on the panel. I want the word to pop up a bit, so I die cut and layer the birthday word from 3 layer of cardstock. When I adhere the stamped part,  I offset it slightly so a white  border will show to make the word more visible.

The word happy is from Beer set, which I stamped and heat embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder.

There you go. Two peony bloom cards that I hope you enjoy as much a I enjoy making them. 🙂 That’s all from me today and may your Friday be a fabulous one. Cheers…

Peonies Birthday Shaker Card

Good morning and happy Easter! Vera here to share a fun shaker card. I am so into shaker card at the moment. Especially with having several fabulous couture mix from The Ton. They are simply so pretty and I couldn’t resist playing with them.

Here’s a look at the card:

IMG_5987
I start with a panel that I trimmed slightly smaller than the card base. Then using my mini MISTI (which is available at The Ton shop under boutique) and the MISTI Creative Corner I draw the gray stripes using the wide end of my Copic.

Once that done, I die cut the rectangle opening using Modern Labels Coordinating Dies, adhere the acetate piece and stamped the sentiment from Modern Labels. I love all the beautiful sentiment on this set.

For the shaker, I used the Disco Spring Couture Mix and added a little bit of Periwinkle Seed Beads and Fairy Pink Sparkling sequins.

For the flower, I used Peony Cluster Mini. For now, this set is not available for purchase till May 2015. But, you will get it for free with any purchase of $150 and more. I didn’t get a chance to play with it during the release week, and been itching to play with it, because it is a pretty awesome set.

IMG_5988
I stamped the image twice, heat embossed them with Rose Gold embossing powder and then color them with Copic. Then die cut them using the coordinating dies and adhere them to the front of the shaker opening.

I hope you find this card as fun and enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it. Well, peeps, that’s all from me today. Hope you all have a beautiful weekend and if you celebrate Easter, happy Easter and may you have a blessed one. Till next time….

My Favorite Person

Hi there lovely peeps. Vera here today. Since, I am all into spring (even though I know it’s not quite here, yet), I thought I share a pretty flowery card to share with you. After all I am a believer in positive affirmation, so this is my way to affirm that spring will be here soon! Hah!

IMG_8847cp
For my card, I used the tea cup from Tea Party set as my vase and arrange the flowers from pretty Wild Peonies on it. Who says flower can only be arrange on a  vase, right? I mean, pretty much any container can be turned into a base for flower arrangement.

I sure do love my peonies. I don’t think it’ll ever get old playing with pretty flowers. Add details to all the flowers with Copic markers and as always, sprinkle some Lemon Chiffon sequins for a finishing touch. The sentiment is from I Got You set.

Here’s a close up look on the flowers. Oh, and see the pretty glittery paper strip, it’s the purple adhesive glitter paperIn case you missed it, the store now carry various color adhesive glitter paper and gorgeous metallic tape as well. If you have not try the, I encourage you to try it. You’ll fall in love with it!!
