Eagles Fly Alone

Hello everyone!!! Hope your week is going well so far! It’s TaeEun here today with an encouragement card! The first day of the new school year is just around the corner (at least where I am 🙂 )! So I thought some of our younger friends need a good amount of encouragement to start off their new chapter !

For today’s card I used Eagle, Mountains and Thoughtful Poppies.

To create the silver eagle I die cut the eagle from some white cardstock using coordinating die. I then silver heat embossed the third layer of the body, detail layer of the tail and head and solid layer of the feet. The eye, mouth and the claws were stamped in Noir. The mountain was die cut using coordinating die from some black cardstock. I stamped the third layer on it in Hampton white pigment ink. I stamped it twice with the help of Misti tool to make it brighter. The second layer was stamped in Hampton white pigment ink as well, but this time only once, so that the layers could be seen.

The Thoughtful Poppies was silver heat embossed on some watercolor paper, colored using Brusho powders and die cut with coordinating die.  I then prepared the dark red cardbase. I wanted an ombre look of it, so I blended Dark Roast, Spiced Chai and Pink Derby on the upper third of the cardbase. The sentiment is from Eagle set. I heat embossed it in silver on the cardbase. To assemble my card I glued the mountain flat on the cardbase and foam mounted the eagle and the poppy cluster onto the card. I cut out the poppies along the edge of the card. Some sequins from Spotlight Couture mix and Glossy Black sequins mix were my finishing touch!

Red, Black and Gold

And a little bit of green :)!

Hello and happy Thursday everyone! Hope you are having a nice week so far! It’s TaeEun here today sharing two poppy cards in color scheme red, black and gold with you! I used the Thoughtful Poppies from our 2017 anniversary release and the Poppy Border stamp from the Summer release.

For my first card I watercolored Thoughtful Poppies, which is heat embossed in gold.

To start off I heat embossed Thoughtful Poppies on a Canson watercolor paper in gold and colored it with Gansai Tambi watercolor. After I die cut the image with the coordinating die I colored the white edge in black using a black Copic marker. The black card base was prepared by splattering gold watercolor and adding three thin strips of Adhesive foil paper gold on the bottom part of it. To add the nest of the gold thread I cut the upper edge of the big poppy flower with a craft knife and put the thread behind the poppy. The poppy cluster was foam mounted onto the card. The sentiment and the banner are from Basic Banners stamp set. I gold heat embossed them on some vellum , die cut with the coordinating die and glued it on the card.

The second card is a shaker card. Our border stamps have the coordinating dies which cut the inside of the border. It’s very easy to create unique shaker cards using them.

TheTon0713 2 1WM

I started off by gold heat embossing the Poppy Border on some black cardstock and die cutting the inside using coordinating die. I wanted to have some red on my front panel. So I stamped a big poppy on the corner on some white cardstock in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake and colored it using Copic markers. I then gold heat embossed it with the help of MISTI tool. I fussy cut the poppy and glued it flat on my front panel where the same poppy was. I added glitter on the image using Spica glitter pen and clear Wink of Stella. I cut a red fun foam smaller than A2 size and die cut the Poppy border again from it to make the well for the shaker elements. I then assembled my shaker card by adding sequins from Medallion Gold, Glossy Black sequins mix and Santa’s Sneezes Couture Mix on the dark red card base.

The hugs word die was cut three times from some black cardstock and once from a white cardstock which I colored in ombre red with Copic markers. On the red die cut I added double coat of clear embossing.  I gold heat embossed one black die cut to add it underneath the red one. I stack them all up, the red die cut slightly off set, and glued it onto my card.

Coloring on the road with Thoughtful Poppies

Hello All! It’s LauraJane today:) I have a card I have been coloring with Zig Clean color markers, aka.Ziggys. Since #thedailymarker30day Coloring Challenge, hosted by Kathy Racoosin, has been taking place all month I wanted to do a bit of coloring each day. I chose to use Thoughtful Poppies stamp set with it’s lovely arrangement of poppy blooms and leaves!

I first stamped the main image from Thoughtful Poppies twice, onto Bristol Smooth watercolour paper, About 6″x 4″in size, using Vanilla Frosted Cupcake ink. Then I went on a trip with my family and took my card front and Ziggys with me to color on the very long drive from St. Louis MO to Dallas TX..over 12hrs each way….no, I was never the driver, yay! lucky me:))

Here is the first bit of coloring done somewhere in Oklahoma:20170314_120122

And the next one from somewhere in Missouri on the return trip:20170318_201753When I got home, I was delighted to find the Coordinating die for Thoughtful Poppies on it’s way to my door… So I waited patiently, and thought about my next move for this card. I decided to partially cut the two bundles of blooms with the said coordinating die.

This is what It looked like after partially cutting:20170321_163340

Then I continued to add more details and depth with the ziggys. Sometimes I must force myself to STOP coloring..I think I may have overworked this one in the end…

I then cut an 8″ x 11″ CS long ways, Cut it again at 6″and stamped Minor Stripes Background with Rose Quartz. Stamped the Sentiment with Light Onyx, Heat embossed with clear EP and re-stamped the sentiment in Noir for a shadow effect.

Mounted the Thoughtful Poppies panel onto the striped BG and finished by embellishing with Cotton Candy Puff Mix
