Hi all. Welcome to a new week. Vera here to start your week with some inspiration from The Ton.
I am pretty excited that with the recent release, The Ton now offering quite a few basic shape dies, like circle, square and rectangle dies. With my cards today, I want to show a couple different way of using these basic dies.
For my cards, I am using the Double Pierced rectangle A2 Coverplate die.
Once I die cut the rectangles, I cut them in half. Put aside one of the half set. Working on the first half set, I colored each layer with Copic. I could die cut them from various color cardstock as well, but I like using white cardstock and then colored them.
Then on the card base, I arrange the layer flip flop of each other. Like the top layer with the open side (since I cut them in half) facing to the right, the second layer open side facing to the left and so on.
Next, I stamped and die cut the Outlined Leaves set. Put aside and from a piece of watercolor cardstock die cut a bunch of leaves using Leafy Bits Coverplate dies. Watercolor the pieces and let dry. Next, I simply arranged and adhere the leaves to the card. Finished by die cutting the thanks sentiment from the coming soon Many Sentiments dies. Due to manufacture delay, we were going to release this set in May, but had to postpone and I already had this card done by the time we found out. Trust me, this sentiment dies set is worth the wait.
Next, I made another card using the other half the rectangles and this time I just adhere them the way they come.
Then I stamped and die cut the leaves from Bountiful Leaves set. I love, how quickly these leaves come together! I stamped them using Caribbean Turquoise, Hot Tourmaline and Ocean Teal. Arrange the leaves on the card. Same thing, the sentiment from the coming soon Many Sentiment dies set.
Well, there you go. I hope these cards help you to think different way to use the basic shape dies. I am definitely excited to explore more option to get more out of these dies. That’s all for me for today. I wish you a happy Monday and that your weeks starts off wonderfully. Cheers….
