Hi all. Welcome to a new week. Vera here to start your week with some inspiration from The Ton.

I am pretty excited that with the recent release, The Ton now offering quite a few basic shape dies, like circle, square and rectangle dies. With my cards today, I want to show a couple different way of using these basic dies.

For my cards, I am using the Double Pierced rectangle A2 Coverplate die.

Once I die cut the rectangles, I cut them in half. Put aside one of the half set. Working on the first half set, I colored each layer with Copic. I could die cut them from various color cardstock as well, but I like using white cardstock and then colored them.

Then on the card base, I arrange the layer flip flop of each other. Like the top layer with the open side (since I cut them in half) facing to the right, the second layer open side facing to the left and so on.

Next, I stamped and die cut the Outlined Leaves set. Put aside and from a piece of watercolor cardstock die cut a bunch of leaves using Leafy Bits Coverplate dies. Watercolor the pieces and let dry. Next, I simply arranged and adhere the leaves to the card. Finished by die cutting the thanks sentiment from the coming soon Many Sentiments dies. Due to manufacture delay, we were going to release this set in May, but had to postpone and I already had this card done by the time we found out. Trust me, this sentiment dies set is worth the wait.

Next, I made another card using the other half the rectangles and this time I just adhere them the way they come.

Then I stamped and die cut the leaves from Bountiful Leaves set. I love, how quickly these leaves come together! I stamped them using Caribbean Turquoise, Hot Tourmaline and Ocean Teal. Arrange the leaves on the card. Same thing, the sentiment from the coming soon Many Sentiment dies set.

Well, there you go. I hope these cards help you to think different way to use the basic shape dies. I am definitely excited to explore more option to get more out of these dies. That’s all for me for today. I wish you a happy Monday and that your weeks starts off wonderfully. Cheers….

Alcohol Inked Greetings

Hello, crafty friends! Hope you’re all doing well. It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of greeting cards I colored using alcohol ink. Over the long Easter weekend I pulled out my alcohol inks again and played with them 🙂 .

My first card is featuring the Bright Peony stamp set from our April Release. It’s a gorgeous huge flower. Of course I couldn’t resist to color this peony with my alcohol ink 🙂 .

I started off applying Shell Pink and Flamingo alcohol ink with lots of rubbing alcohol on an alcohol ink cardstock to make a soft pink panel. After the panel was dry I heat embossed the Bright Peony in silver on it. I then started coloring the peony. I dropped Raspberry, Flamingo and Shell Pink alcohol ink on the petals and moved the ink by tilting the panel. I used Slate alcohol ink for the leaves. I splattered silver Mixative on the panel and let it dry.

Actually I wanted to use the whole panel. But I didn’t like the pink background, so I decided to cut the flower off from the panel. Instead I created an extra background. I silver heat embossed the Geometric Lattice cling background on a white cardstock panel and ink blended Hollywood Star on the four corners of the panel.

I mounted the background panel on a pink cardbase and foam mounted the peony on it.

The sentiment was cut using the Love and Hugs word plate die . I cut “hugs” three times from some white cardstock and once from Adhesive Glitter paper Glossy fine Silver.  I stacked them all together and added it to the card. I finished off the card with some silver and clear sequins from New Year Couture Mix.

For the second card I used the Confetti Balloons stamp set.

TT0415 1 1 WM

I started off by creating the alcohol inked background panel. I applied rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Flamingo, Raspberry and Pool alcohol ink on a YUPO panel and moved and dried the ink using a blower.

TT0415 1 5 WM

I white heat embossed the outline and the star confetti pattern of the Confetti Balloons three times on a white cardstock. I then ink blended them in Hollywood Star, Cobalt Breeze and Grand Fuchsia. I fussy cut the balloons and set them aside. You can use the coordinating cut file to cut the image!

TT0415 1 6 WM

The sentiment is from Mega Confetti Numbers set. I stamped “HAPPY” in Grape Crush and the small sentiment in Grand Fuchsia on the background panel. The dye inks don’t dry easily on YUPO. So I sprinkled clear embossing powder on it and carefully heat set it.

I drew the strings for the balloons with a purple Sharpie pen on the background panel and foam mounted the balloons on it.

That’s it from me today! Hope you can find some time to craft!

Stay safe and healthy!

Hugs,

Thankful & Blessed

Hi peeps! What day is it? Hah… Sorry, I can’t help it. It’s hump day!! And I am bringing you mid week inspiration from The Ton.

For today, I am playing with the gorgeous Autumn Sweater set. When I first saw this set, I was like oohh, this would be a fun one to play with and I was right.

IMG2932.3

To start with, I colored a panel of cardstock with various ink pad from The Ton. Starts from the bottom to the top, I used Plum Wine, Cosmopolitan Pink, Coralline, Lemon Drop, Soft Garden and Ocean Teal. I used long strip post it note to mask each stripe (each about 1″ wide).

IMG2932.1

Next, I lined it up with the stamp’s line, stamped and heat embossed the image with white embossing powder.

IMG2932.2

Then I trimmed the card panel slightly smaller than the card base and adhere it to the card base. I have to admit, this is the rare time I used jewel tone color ink pads and papers. Usually, I am not a fan of jewel tone and was pleasantly surprised that when I was looking at which colored cardstock to use for the base, this teal colored cardstock won. I am really happy at how lovely this card turned out. Great reminder that sometimes it’s good to step out of your comfort zone. 🙂

That’s all from me today, peeps. Hope you enjoy today’s card as much as I enjoy making it. Hope your Wednesday is a good one. Cheers…

Peony Dreams Cluster

Hello everyone! Hope the month of July is off to a great start for you all! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of floral cards I created using the beautiful Peony Dreams Cluster stamp! Peony Dreams Cluster is a big clear background stamp in 5.75 x 5.75 inches which includes two huge peonies.

For the first card I stamped the image as it is.

Tt0701 2 2 WM

To start off I white heat embossed the Peony Dreams Cluster on a watercolor paper panel and colored the image using Color Burst powders. I colored one peony in Fuchsia and the other in orange leaving the tip of each petal almost white to add highlight.

After the panel was dry I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle die and mounted it flat on a white cardbase. I then cut the sentiment using Hugs word die once from Adhesive Glitter paper Glossy Fine Silver and three times from some heavyweight white cardstock. I stacked them together and adhered it onto the card. I finished off the card by scattering some Glass Slippers Round Confetti sequins.

For the next card I stamped only the part with one peony on a corner of a A2 sized panel, masked the flower and added some branches with little flowers to create a new floral cluster design.

TT0701 1 1 WM

I stamped Peony Dreams Cluster in light ink to do no-line coloring. After stamping was done I colored the image using Luminance colored pencils. I wanted to try a unusual color combination: burgundy, brown and gray. I also tried a new to me coloring style which shows the pencil strokes. It was hard for me to step out of my comfort zone but I’m glad I gave it a try.

The sentiment from Penned Sentiments set was gold heat embossed directly on the colored panel.

TT0701 1 CU1 WM

The colored panel was cut using Double Stitched Rectangle die again and foam mounted on a kraft cardbase. I finished off the card by adding some Medallion Gold sequins.

That’s it from me for today! I hope you enjoyed looking my cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Branches

Hi peeps! How’ it going? Phew… this past weekend I went for a much needed crafty retreat. There were close to 50 girls and let me tell you, when that many girls gather, lack of sleep going to happen.

Crafting happened, too though not too much for me. Hah… too busy chatting with everyone. It’s always nice to meet in person friends that you’ve been interacting with online and to catch up with old friends.

Well, this past weekend, The Ton also had an awesome mini release. I was playing with the sets before the trip, which is a good thing, because after the trip, I got sick and didn’t really have time to create.

Anyway, here’s a card that I made using the new Beautiful Branches.

IMG2866.1
I just recently got some alcohol pearl ink and was creating a bunch of rainbow background. One of them I used on my card HERE and the other part I used on this card. The alcohol ink dries quickly, which is awesome, as I am not very patient in waiting for ink to dry. I simply trim a small part and adhere it to my card base.

Next, I stamp and color this beautiful flowering branch with Caviar ink pad and then adhere it to the card with foam adhesive. I always like a bit of dimension on my card.
IMG2866.2

Next, I stamp the many thanks sentiment from Peony Notes Bundle set and finish the card by adding some Fairy Pink Sparkling clear sequins. I love the way this card turned out as I do love card with lots of white space.

I think the rainbow strip compliment the flowering branch beautifully, don’t you think?

Well peeps, that’s all from me today. Hope you enjoy today’s inspiration. Thank you for stopping by here and may your mid week be a wonderful one. Cheers….
