This hop runs from Friday, May. 22. to Friday, May. 29. Winners will be announced on Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog . See all the details HERE.

I made a coffee themed ( it could be a cup of hot cocoa, if you want 🙂 ) shaker card using our Tea Party coordinating die set and some of our new items from May Release : Rose Patch stamp and die set and Oval Nested die.

CLBH 2 WM

I started off by cutting the front oval piece. I cut it using the cup die from the Tea Party coordinating die and an Oval Nested die. I cut it from some gold glitter paper and white cardstock and adhered them together to make the panel sturdier. I adhered a piece of clear acetate on the back of the panel and set it aside.

CLBH 1 WM

Next I prepared the background panel. I watercolored the panel in ombre brown. I wanted that the brown reminds you of coffee or cocoa, so I made the background upwards from the middle of the cup very bright. After the background panel was dry I drew a few lines using a gold gel pen.

I mounted the background flat on a creme cardbase and made the shaker part by adding the front piece using foam tape. I used Hot Cocoa Couture Mix as the shaker elements.

CLBH 4 WM

To embellish the card front I arranged a small rose bouquet using Rose Patch, Bountiful Leaves and Floral Bits stamp set and coordinating dies. The orange flowers were stamped in  Amber CitrineCoraline HybridCoral Cavern and the leaves in  Soft GardenBright FernDeep Emerald.

The sentiment is from Easy Expressions. I gold heat embossed the handwritten part and stamped the rest in Noir. I cut it using the coordinating die and added it to the card.

I finished off the card with three Medallion Gold sequins.

I’ve made a spring themed card. After a long Winter finally blooming Spring flowers can be seen everywhere now.  A lovely small wildflower bouquet made during a walk could embellish your table. Maybe you put the bouquet in a cute coffee cup :).

CLBH 1 WM

I started off by stamping the cup from Tea Party set in Hampton White pigment ink on a Toned Tan paper panel. I masked the cup and continued stamping the saucer and the floral cluster from Wildflower Bouquet Builder set.

CLBH CU2 WMx

I colored the image with Luminance colored pencils. I chose soft colors for the flowers and the cup to give the card a springlike touch. I fussy cut the right side of the image along the outline and glued the panel on a soft pink cardstock. I cut the pink cardstock again along the outline leaving a thin pink border.

CLBH CU5 WMx

The sentiment is from Hug in a Mug set. I heat embossed the sentiment on the white cardbase in Rose Gold embossing powder. I foam mounted the front panel with the image on the cardbase. To finish off I added some sequins from Summer Soiree and Coral Necklace Couture Mix.

Cuppa Sunshine!

Hello everyone, it’s LauraJane today:) I have a sweet teacup of sunflowers for you today using the SUNFLOWER BOUQUET.…. In my last post I shared a video on how I colored the Outlines of the Fresh Cut Sunflowers with Ziggys. Well, I wasn’t quite finished coloring Sunflowers I guess! These are a bit on the Pink-ish side with a hint of Yellow:)

The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane

  • I started out by stamping the Sunflower Bouquet onto a piece of Bristol Smooth 100lb paper.  I stamp the bouquet with Vanilla Frosted Cupcake Dye ink..
  • Using a clean water blush, I began with the YELLOW,050 Zig to lay down a base color on each petal.
  • Then added BLUSH,069 at the base of each petal and where I thought a shadow might be. No water added.
  • Continuing with more shadows with BRICK BEIGE, 075 in the darkest part of each petal tip and connecting point at the center.
  • More flicks of color with LIGHT CARMINE,021 BRIGHT YELLOW,052, and PEACH PINK,202
  • Dotted the center of each flower with BRICK BEIGE, BLUSH, and PALE ROSE,230
  • Added a wash of YELLOW GREEN,053 over the dotted centers leaving just a bit of highlight
  • At this time I RE-STAMPED the bouquet, using the MISTI, with AMBER CITRINE dye ink because I wanted more yellow gold for teh petals to show through. I was pleased with the outcome!
  • Moving onto the leaves by quickly coloring with MID GREEN,046 and  OLIVE GREEN,043 for the shadows….clean waterbrush to blend on each leaf
  • Cut this bouquet out with the Sunflower Bouquet Coordinating Die and carefully trimmed the stems off. and set it aside.
  • The Tea Party cup and saucer were just the vessel to pop that bouquet into:) Tea Party Coordinating Dies made for easy cutting too.
  • I inked both the cup and saucer with SOFT ORCHID dye ink.  and colored a bit with the ENGLISH LAVENDER,803, BLUSH and PALE ROSE for some dimension. set those aside

Mini Heart Print Cling Background was colored with the PALE ROSE ZIG, spritzed with water and stamped onto white CS and trimmed with the largest Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small)

The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane2That sweet tiny HELLO is from PRAGMATIC WREATHS and trimmed to make a tea tag:) I then took all the pieces and arranged tham onto a light pink VELLUM covered cardbase using FOAM TAPE under the blooms and TOMBOW MULTI glue for the rest. I snuck a strip of GLITTER TAPE under the saucer so it didn’t look like it was floating:)

List of ZIG markers used: 021, 043, 046, 050, 052, 053, 069, 075, 202, 230, 803The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane4

I was thinking of other floral stamps that would look good in the teacup…what do YOU have in your stash?

2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Coffeebloghop

Hi everyone!   It’s TaeEun here with a very special post. We are so excited to join the super fun 2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  The Ton is proud to be a super sponsor and flash sponsor for this hop. You can link up your newly created coffee, tea, and/or cocoa projects with Spring theme for a chance to win many prizes, including three (3) $10 gift certificates to The Ton!

This hop runs from Friday, March 24 – Friday, March 31. Winners will be announced on Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog on Sunday, April 2nd. See all the details HERE.

I made a card using our Tea Party stamp set as main element and added a bouquet of roses using small rose image included in the Scripty Alpha Lower stamp set to give the card a fresh and warm feeling of the Spring 🙂 .

Coffee 1WM

As I wanted water color the images, I used Bristol smooth paper. I stamped the tea cup set on the right with polka dot first in embossing ink and heat embossed them using Rose Gold embossing powder. After masking the first set, I stemped the mirror image of the cup on the left using the Mirror stamp. I used for this a black pigment ink so that I could heat emboss the cup in Rose Gold as well. I heat embossed the rose pattern on the second cup in rose gold. I masked the cup, then stamped and heat embossed the saucer.

To create the rose bouquet in the vase I used several stamp sets. The vase is from Lone Poppy, stamped in Crystal Pewter. The roses are from the Scripty Alpha Lower stamp set. I stamped three roses, two in Coralline Hybrid and one in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake (I stamped it without cleaning the stamp after using it with Coralline, so that it looks yellow-orange.). To stamp the stems and leaves I masked the roses. I borrowed the stem from Fresh Cut Garden Roses, stamped using Soft Garden and Bright Fern. The leaves are from the Wild Peonies stamp set.

After done with stamping, I colored the image using Zig brush markers and blended Coralline Hybrid and Vanilla Frosted Cupcake on the bottom part of the card. The sentiment is from the Caffeine Crush set. I stamped it in Noir on some white cardstock and again in embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. I cut it in a fishtail banner and matted it with a orange strip I made by blending Coralline Hybrid.

Coffee CU1WM

To assemble the card I cut the front panel using the biggest Double Stitched Rectangle die. To trim the left edge I positioned the die slightly to the right and cut the panel again. I added a strip of rose gold glitter tape on the left edge of the card base and glued the panel flat on it. The sentiment was foam mounted. I finished off the card by adding a few sequins from Flamenco Sunset, I Dream in Peach, Cinderella’s Ride Couture Mix and Glass Slippers sequins mix.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Don’t forget to hop over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog with a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa ready in your hand 🙂 , as there are so many other participants playing along in this hop.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Hopping!

Macarons and Tea.

Hello, my friends! Emily here with you today with a couple of sweet little cards using the new Macarons set and the new Scripty Alpha sets, Upper and Lower. So excited for both of these sets… I’ve been wishing upon stars and crossing fingers and toes and eyes and everything I can think of to get a macaron set from Effie, and she delivered! Heck yes!

the-ton-macarons-and-tea-wm

This first card is so clean and so pretty… I started by stamping the tea cup and saucer from the previously released Tea Party set using Caribbean Turquoise and Caviar inks. I stamped the polka dots and handle for the cup with some silver ink in my stash. I fussy cut both of those pieces, then stamped the darling little macaron from Macarons using the inks from the Ruby Collection. (Isn’t it fantastic how perfectly the smaller macaron from Macarons fits with the teacup from Tea Party?! It’s the little things in life that make me happy haha!) I adhered everything together, decided where I wanted it to go on my card base, then used it as a guide to stamp the greeting. I was able to create the customized greeting using pieces of the “wishing you the sweetest birthday” sentiment included in Sweetest Macarons. I started by cutting the sentiment into three strips, then stamping both the top and bottom of the sentiment using Caribbean turquoise ink, leaving space in between for the scripty “sweetest” using the Scripty Alpha Lower set, which was stamped in Red Sangria. Clean, simple and oh, so pretty! I would love to receive this card for my birthday, preferably with a box of fresh macarons! Be still my heart….

My next project showcases how beautiful the outline stamps from Macarons look when watercolored. I did a little watercoloring with them during the release, but I really wanted to dig in and see if I couldn’t get some more depth out of them. I started by stamping one of the macarons on some masking paper, which I then used to stamp a cute little stack of macarons using some waterproof ink. After I had stamped them, I stamped my custom “Merci” greeting using the Script Alphas Upper and Lower with the same waterproof black ink. After all of my stamping was complete, I simply used my Zig markers and a wet paintbrush to add color and depth to the darling little confections. I die cut the macarons panel with one of the Stitched Rectangles, then matted it with some coordinating royal purple card stock. For the card base, since we have French cookies with a French greeting, I wanted a background that looked French… the Folk Art Florals background totally reminds me of wallpaper or a beautiful patterned chair in a fancy French drawing room. I stamped it onto some bubblegum pink card stock, then heat embossed it using silver sparkle embossing powder. Isn’t it just so pretty?! I mounted my watercolor and royal purple panel using some dimensional adhesive, et voila, we’re done.

My Favorite Person

Hi there lovely peeps. Vera here today. Since, I am all into spring (even though I know it’s not quite here, yet), I thought I share a pretty flowery card to share with you. After all I am a believer in positive affirmation, so this is my way to affirm that spring will be here soon! Hah!

For my card, I used the tea cup from Tea Party set as my vase and arrange the flowers from pretty Wild Peonies on it. Who says flower can only be arrange on a  vase, right? I mean, pretty much any container can be turned into a base for flower arrangement.

I sure do love my peonies. I don’t think it’ll ever get old playing with pretty flowers. Add details to all the flowers with Copic markers and as always, sprinkle some Lemon Chiffon sequins for a finishing touch. The sentiment is from I Got You set.

Here’s a close up look on the flowers. Oh, and see the pretty glittery paper strip, it’s the purple adhesive glitter paperIn case you missed it, the store now carry various color adhesive glitter paper and gorgeous metallic tape as well. If you have not try the, I encourage you to try it. You’ll fall in love with it!!

Well peeps, that’s all from me. Hope you enjoy today’s post and may your Friday be an awesome one. Cheers….
