February Mirror Image Event + Giveaway

Every day in the month of February, the design team members from My Sweet Petunia, The Ton and So Suzy Stamps will create a card using the Mirror Image Stamp. There will be blog posts, videos and a ton of instructions on how we all use the Mirror Image Stamp.

The Mirror Image Stamp is a great stamping tool that works with the MISTI to create reflections and reverse images.

We will have the entire list with links to everyone’s post on the So Suzy Stamps blog so you can come back and see the inspiration on a daily basis. We will also be sharing the cards on Facebook and Instagram, just in case you miss a blog post.

For my card today, I used our new Brushed Love, Fresh Cut Garden Roses (Layered + Outline) stamp sets!

Don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel as I update it weekly with more inspiration on our products!

I started off by mirror image stamping the large love sentiment in our Crystal Pewter Dye Ink.  Next I transferred the reflected impression onto an A2 sized card panel. I then stamped the Love onto that panel using our Light Onyx Dye Ink creating a reflection of our sentiment.  Next I partially heat embossed the large sentiment with silver glitter embossing powder creating a slight “stardust” effect.

Next I stamped the roses and foliage from our Fresh Cut Garden Roses in our Dusty Blues Dye Inks. For the foliage, I used our Noir, Light Onyx and Smoky Quartz dye inks.  I heat embossed additional foliage from the coordinating outline sets to add interest to my final floral arrangements.  After everything was stamped and embossed, everything was die cut using the coordinating dies.

Next I trimmed my stamped and embossed panel about 1/4 inch on the right and bottom edges.  Then I stamped the Sending above the Love sentiment in our Crystal Pewter Dye Ink.  I initially stamped the Best Wishes part of the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink below the large love. I was not satisfied with how that turned out so I ended up white heat embossing the same sentient onto light gray cardstock and then popped that up over the original black sentiment.

NextI stamped our Freestyle Stripes (in Arctic Sky Dye Ink) onto a top folding A2 cardbase using a Speedball Baren to help me obtain a nice even impression. Then I popped up the stamped panel onto the base with foam tape. Then I arranged the florals and foliage at the two edges and popped those elements up using additional dimensional foam tape.

So Suzy Stamps & The Ton Collaboration Hop Day 2

Hello and welcome back to Day 2 of our Collaboration Hop with the fabulous So Suzy Stamps!  If you’re joining us for the first time today, be sure to check out Day 1 because that is where most of the action is and where you can leave comments to win our collab giveaways. We are still celebrating the hop today (Day2) and tomorrow (Day 3) and you can find some of the hop participants from yesterday posting throughout this week to celebrate!

For today, I created a faux watercolored card using Suzy’s beautiful cling Peony stamp and the rose stamp from our Scripty Greetings set.

I started off by coloring Suzy’s Peony stamp with three shades of pink Zig markers (No. 200 S. Almond Pink, 202 Pink Peach and 27 Dark Pink). Then I spritzed a little bit of water onto the stamp and stamped right onto my watercolor panel.  I did this a few times to cover the edges of my panel with beautiful pink watercolor peonies.  Next I added some smaller watercolor florals using the larger semi solid rose stamp from our Scripty Greetings set. I colored this stamp with the 202 Pink Peach and 27 Dark Pink.  I spritzed onto the stamp twice and stamped around the larger peonies to make the floral arrangements fuller.  The two sizes of the Peony and the Rose complement each other very nicely!

I applied the same technique to the leaves: I colored the leaves with a green zig marker, spritzed water and stamped along the florals. Once the “watercoloring” was finished, I stamped the sentiment onto the panel with our Noir Dye ink using my Mini MISTI. Then I trimmed the watercolor panel about an eighth of an inch at the top and bottom edges.

Next I stamped our Minor Stripes onto a separate card panel with our Crystal Pewter dye ink. I trimmed two strips and applied those striped strips onto the top and bottom edges of a top folding A2 card base. I also adhered two strips of Silver Holographic Adhesive Paper below the gray stripes to add a bit of sparkle and interest to my card. After I adhered the watercolor panel onto the base, I glued on some new Silver Holographic sequins onto my card.

Thank you everyone for stopping by! Be sure to check out the other hop participant blogs that have posts for you today as well!

Now onto my project for Day 1 of our hop!

When I saw Suzy’s Blowing Butterflies stamp, I knew I needed to use it on our Haute Wedding Dress gal.  The dress is fairly billowy and provides a large enough canvas to insert many different designs.

I started off by creating my background panel. I stamped our Vogue Skyline in our Noir Dye Ink on the center of the panel. Then I blended some Cali Blue and Azurite Dye inks at the top and bottom edges of the panel.  I heat embossed the

Next, I went to work on that gorgeous dress! I stamped our Haute Wedding Dress on a separate card panel in our Noir Dye Ink. Then I gold heat embossed the bodice of the dress with.  Next I created a negative mask with our dress. I used the negative portion to mask the outer edges of the dress so that I could gold glitter heat emboss those beautiful butterflies within the dress.

After I embossed the butterflies, I carefully peeled off the negative mask and then spooned the gold glitter embossing powder over the butterfly stamped image. Then I melted all the powder with my heat gun. Next I colored in the dress and butterflies with zig markers.

After I finished coloring with my zig markers, I brushed on some clear Wink of Stella over the shaded areas of the dress to add some more sparkle.  Then I die cut our gal with the coordinating die.

Next I gold glitter heat embossed the fabulous Confidence is Sexy sentiment onto my blended card panel. Before I adhered the blended panel onto a side folding A2 card base, I added some stitching to the edges with our Double Stitched Rectangles die set.  Then I popped up my Haute Wedding Dress gal onto the panel and added some Dew Drops in both sizes to add some finishing touches to the card.

That’s it for my card for the day! Your next stop is the fabulous Ms. Suzy.  Make sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of the giveaways mentioned above!
