Pop-up Butterflies

Hi all. Vera here. Ever since I started making cards, there’s one image that I have loved to play with since the very beginning. Butterflies! I love butterflies. They’re delicate and brings so much beauty to this world. So, for today’s card I am using a couple of The Ton butterflies set.

For the front of my card I used Monarch Butterfly Coverplate dies.

I started by die cutting the framed butterfly and then ink blend Cobalt Breeze and Azurite on it. I love doing ink blending because you can get different hues from the same ink pad simply by varying your pressure and the number of ink layering. Once I am happy with the color, I put it aside and did ink splatter on a piece of white cardstock. Let the splatter dry and then layered it with the framed butterfly. Trim as needed and adhere the panel to the card base.

Now, time to work on the surprise inside. When I saw Effie coming out with this brilliant Majestic Monarch Pop Up dies I got so excited! To this day, I don’t know how she figured out the engineering for all The Ton pop up dies. They’re simply unique, smart and one of a kind. I won’t try to explain the step by step to use this dies as I found the best way is to watch Effie’s tutorial HERE. I stamped and colored all the butterflies and then worked on putting the pop-up mechanism together. And, the result…. voila!

How fun is it to get a card with a burst of butterflies when you open it? I keep playing with it and even hubby was commenting on how fancy the card looks!

So, do you love pop up cards? Or have you tried to make pop up cards? Well peeps, that’s all from me today. Hope you’re having a good week and may your up coming weekend be a fun one. Cheers…

Pretty Daisies

Hello everyone! Hope your week is going well so far! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of floral cards featuring two of our pretty daisy stamps, Daisy Fields and Daisy Close Up (Full View).

And there is one extra card I’m sharing here today. This additional pink card is featuring one of our Digital cut filesPeony Layering Coverplate SVG Cut File.

Let’s take a look at my pink cards 🙂 !!!

The first one is featuring Daisy Fields set. This set is a background stamp in 5.75″ by 5.75″size. But I used only a part of the image to embellish my card.

I started off by gold heat embossing the Daisy Fields on a vellum panel. I colored the image using Tombow brush markers on the back of the vellum. I then fussy cut a diagonal part of it which includes some full daisies connected with each other.

To create the background I ink blended Soft Garnet on the soft pink cardbase around the area where the flowers would be placed and splattered white opaque ink on it.

After the background was completely dry I stamped the sentiment from Scripty Greetings set in an ombre fashion in Grape Crush and Noir.

I then added the vellum piece with the daisies on it using clear foam tape. I finished off the card by adding some sequins from Pink Diamond Couture Mix.

The second card is showcasing our Daisy Close Up (Full View) and Pop-Up Butterfly Monarch die.

Tt0515 2 1 WM

I stamped Daisy Close Up (Full View) on a white cardstock in Soft Garnet to do some no line coloring. I actually thought of colored pencils or Copic markers at first but changed my mind and colored the daisy with acrylic paint. I love the texture of it!

After I finished coloring the pink daisy, I set it aside to dry. I then made the butterfly. To do that I cut the Pop-Up Butterfly Monarch from white cardstock. I cut the wings two times each to stack them together. I heat embossed the butterfly in iridescent sparkle embossing powder. I mounted the panel with the daisy on a white cardbsae and foam mounted the sparkly monarch on it. The sentiment is from The Most Interesting Cardmaker 2.0 set. I white heat embossed it on a piece of black cardstock, matted it with some soft pink panel and added it to the card. I finished off the card by scattering some sequins from Pink Diamond Couture Mix like the first card.

Did you see the post where Effie introduced our new digital release? This release includes some gorgeous coverplate cut files. There are some new beautiful designs in the Digital category in our shop which aren’t mentioned in Effie’s post !!! Hope you check it out!!!

I used for next card  Peony Layering Coverplate SVG Cut File.

TT0515 3 1 WM

I cut the three layers of the cut files from Canson Mixed Media paper using my Scan N Cut. I then colored the Layers in Fuchsia, Peony and Wisteria Color Burst respectively.  I colored the center part of the peony a little bit darker to show some depth and the leaves in Turquoise.

After the colored layers were dry I adhered them together and splattered pink, white and gold ink on it. I then ink blended the cardbase in Hollywood Star and Caribbean Turquoise to give the base layer some color of the flower and leaves. I also splattered gold ink on the cardbase and adhered the layered peony on it. For a more finished look I cut a frame using Double Stitched Rectangle dies from some textured soft pink cardstock and added it to the card.

The sentiment was cut from some Adhesive Foil paper gold and from white cardstock using Love & Hugs word plate dies, stacked together and added to the card. I finished off the card with some Medallion Gold sequins.

Coloring Large Stamp and Die using Alcohol Ink

Hello everyone! Can you believe it’s already April ?!!! Time goes by so fast! Hope your April is off to a great start!!! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of cards to share with you. I chose  Peony Close Up and Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch for today’s cards and colored them using alcohol ink.

Let’s start with Peony Close Up card! I love all Close Up cling stamp series and this Peony Close Up is my absolute favorite.

TT0401 2 1 WM

I started by applying light wash of pink alcohol ink on a glossy cardstock panel. I used Shell Pink and Flamingo along with lots of rubbing alcohol to lighten the color. After the first layer was dry, I gold heat embossed the Peony Close Up on the panel.

I then added more alcohol ink on the petals. This time I used also Sunset Orange to add a little bit of orange to the pink colors. I worked on petal by petal to define them in different shades. For the greenery I used Haselnut instead of green. I used a micro applicator to add color on small areas.

After the colored panel was completely dry, I cut the “hugs” using Love and Hugs Word Plate die from the panel and from some light pink fun foam. I then started assembling the card by adhering the panel on a white cardbase. I inlaid the sentiment, raised using the fun foam die cut. The small “sending” is from Brushed Love stamp set. I made a fishtail banner using a scrap of glossy cardstock on which I applied Shell Pink alcohol ink. I gold heat embossed the sentiment on it and foam mounted it onto the card.

To finish off I colored the stamen using yellow Stickles and added Medallion Gold sequins and one pink sequin from Guava Sparkle Couture Mix.

The second card is featuring the huge butterfly wing die cut of Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch.

TT0401 1 1 WM new

To start off I’ve created a background panel in blue and purple. I first applied Blending solution on a Yupo panel, dropped Amethyst, Pool and Sail Boat on it and blended them together by blowing them.

TT0401 1 CU2 WM new

I cut the half monarch butterfly using Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch from a Yupo panel and colored it with the same alcohol ink colors without diluting them. After the alcohol inks were all dry, I splattered silver Mixative on the butterfly and the background panel.

Tt0401 1 3 WM

I glued the background Yupo panel on a dark blue cardbase, added two thin strips of Glossy Fine Silver Adhesive glitter paper on the middle of the panel and foam mounted the circle with a sentiment from Butterfly Wings-Monarch stamp set, stamped in Iris Blooms. I cut one more monarch butterfly from some blue fun foam to raise the Yupo butterfly. I completed the card by adhering the butterfly on the background.

That’s it from my side. Hope I could inspire you with my cards today!

Have a wonderful week!
