Tropical Christmas

Hi, crafty friends! Hope you’re having a great week! It’s TaeEun here today with a holiday card in tropical color scheme! I’ve never been to Australia or other countries in the southern hemisphere. So it’s hard to imagine how it would be over there at Christmas in the middle of Summer 🙂 ! I thought it would be fun to make a tropical holiday card !

First I stamped the Poinsettia Bouquet on a A2 sized watercolor paper panel. I stamped a small part of the large image four times on each corner of the panel to create a floral border. I stamped it in Soft Cream to do no line coloring.

I watercolored the image in bright colors and left the background white. I added a bit of shade to the image using Polychromos colored pencils. I then cut the panel with the largest die from the Double Pierced Rectangle A2 Nested die set and adhered it flat on a white cardbase.

I cut the Merry Christmas Sentiment from a golden cardstock which I made by adhering the Adhesive Gold Foil paper on white cardstock and foam mounted it on the card. I finished off the card with a few Medallion Gold sequins.

That’s it from me ! Hope you’ve got some inspiration from my card!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving holiday!

Poinsettia Bouquet in Red

Hello and Happy Monday, friends! It’s TaeEun here today with a holiday card in red! Actually red isn’t my favorite color but I tend to make holiday cards in red and I always loved the results 🙂 ! For today’s card I used the Poinsettia Bouquet stamp set with the gorgeous large poinsettia cluster image.

I started off by making a red ombre watercolor panel. I colored a watercolor paper in Alizarin Crimson and Merlot Color Burst powders. I first applied clean water on a A2 sized watercolor paper panel and started watercoloring from one end of the panel diluting the color while moving towards the other side.

After the panel was dry I white heat embossed the Poinsettia Bouquet on the panel. To add some definition to the image I added more red (the same colors I used to make the background panel) to the darker area of the petals and lifted the color from the tip of the petals by dabbing with a paper towel after applying clear water to the area.

I stamped one more Poinsettia Bouquet on a white cardstock in Noir and cut a tag from that panel using a tag die from the coordinating die set of the Holiday Chic Tag set.

I trimmed the colored panel a bit and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. I then added the tag in black and white on the colored panel using foam tape.

The die cut sentiment was cut using the Many Sentiments Holiday die set. I cut the words four times from some white cardstock, layered them and colored the top of it in some red Copic markers. I adhered the sentiment on the tag and scattered some Glass Slippers sequins to finish off the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed looking my card 🙂 !

Have a wonderful week!

Poinsettia Bouquet

Hi, crafty friends! Hope you’re having a great week! It’s TaeEun here today with a holiday card featuring our new Poinsettia Bouquet stamp set from the Fall 2021 Release! Have you checked out the new release with tons of awesome holiday items?

For today’s card I picked the gorgeous Poinsettia Bouquet. It’s a huge outline floral image which is a dream to color!

I white heat embossed the Poinsettia Bouquet on a watercolor paper panel and colored it using Color Burst powder and other watercolors. For the large poinsettia I used Cerulean Blue and Orchid Color Burst. Instead of a detailed coloring I did let the colors flow in the water that I applied first. After the panel was dry I die cut the image using the coordinating die.

I ink blended the cardbase in Iris Blooms and Cali Blue, as I didn’t like the contrast when I placed the image on the white cardbase. I splattered white ink on the cardbase and foam mounted the Poinsettia Bouquet on it.

The sentiment from the Ribbons Holiday set was stamped in Violet Fringe and heat embossed in gold, cut with the coordinating die and added to the card using foam tape, after I stamped “HAPPY” also in Violet Fringe. Using the Ribbons Holiday set you get five holiday sentiments with one working process so that you have some of them ready in your stash!

I scattered Glass Slippers sequins here and there and the card was finished!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed looking my card 🙂 !

Have a wonderful day!
