Hello everyone! Can you believe it’s already April ?!!! Time goes by so fast! Hope your April is off to a great start!!! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of cards to share with you. I chose Peony Close Up and Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch for today’s cards and colored them using alcohol ink.
Let’s start with Peony Close Up card! I love all Close Up cling stamp series and this Peony Close Up is my absolute favorite.
I started by applying light wash of pink alcohol ink on a glossy cardstock panel. I used Shell Pink and Flamingo along with lots of rubbing alcohol to lighten the color. After the first layer was dry, I gold heat embossed the Peony Close Up on the panel.
I then added more alcohol ink on the petals. This time I used also Sunset Orange to add a little bit of orange to the pink colors. I worked on petal by petal to define them in different shades. For the greenery I used Haselnut instead of green. I used a micro applicator to add color on small areas.
After the colored panel was completely dry, I cut the “hugs” using Love and Hugs Word Plate die from the panel and from some light pink fun foam. I then started assembling the card by adhering the panel on a white cardbase. I inlaid the sentiment, raised using the fun foam die cut. The small “sending” is from Brushed Love stamp set. I made a fishtail banner using a scrap of glossy cardstock on which I applied Shell Pink alcohol ink. I gold heat embossed the sentiment on it and foam mounted it onto the card.
To finish off I colored the stamen using yellow Stickles and added Medallion Gold sequins and one pink sequin from Guava Sparkle Couture Mix.
The second card is featuring the huge butterfly wing die cut of Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch.
To start off I’ve created a background panel in blue and purple. I first applied Blending solution on a Yupo panel, dropped Amethyst, Pool and Sail Boat on it and blended them together by blowing them.
I cut the half monarch butterfly using Pop-Up Butterfly die-Monarch from a Yupo panel and colored it with the same alcohol ink colors without diluting them. After the alcohol inks were all dry, I splattered silver Mixative on the butterfly and the background panel.
I glued the background Yupo panel on a dark blue cardbase, added two thin strips of Glossy Fine Silver Adhesive glitter paper on the middle of the panel and foam mounted the circle with a sentiment from Butterfly Wings-Monarch stamp set, stamped in Iris Blooms. I cut one more monarch butterfly from some blue fun foam to raise the Yupo butterfly. I completed the card by adhering the butterfly on the background.
That’s it from my side. Hope I could inspire you with my cards today!
Thank you so much for looking!
Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
TaeEun
