hello folk hummingbird

Photo taken against our Gray Noise and White Paint Backdrop Boards

For my first card, I used our Sweet Folk Hummingbird set and Bold General Greetings Die Word Plates.

I started off by rose gold heat embossing the tulip cluster from our Sweet Folk Hummingbird set at the top and bottom edges of my watercolor paper. For the bird, I stamped on a separate piece of watercolor paper. Then I gave my florals a base layer of color using my Color Bursts (Marigold and Lemon Yellow). I detailed my tulips with my zig markers (Geranium Red, Scarlet Red and Bright Yellow).  I also added a blue outline to my florals using some Ultramarine Blue Color bursts. For my hummingbird, I quickly colored this little guy with my zig markers (May Green, Geranium Red and Dark Brown).

Next I die cut my  watercolored panel using the largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangles (Small) set. I also die cut my hummingbird at the same time. Next, I die cut my sentiment with my “hello” word plate and then blended some Bright Fern Dye Ink to the bottom half of the word. Finally, I assembled my card by adhering my painted panel onto a side folding A2 base. Then I popped up my sentiment, sentiment strip (white heat embossed onto black cardstock – sentiment is from Sweet Folk Hummingbird) and bird. Lastly, I added our Clear Rhinestones around my sentiment.

My next card was VERY easy to make! I simply stamped our Riotous Wildflowers background stamp onto cardstock, colored it in using zig markers (no special shading), stamped the sentiment from our Seriously Amazing Sentiment set (Noir Dye Ink), added stitching to the edges of the panel and adhered it onto a base. Done!

blue painted peonies

For my last card, I used our Painted Peonies. I stamped out two of the clusters in the corners of an A2 cardstock panel (I saved this panel for the next step). I used our Cali Blue, Cobalt Breeze and Parisian Blue Dye Ink. For the leaves, I used Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz. Then I die cut both clusters using the coordinating die.

Next I blended the corner edges of the panel using our Caribbean Turquoise Dye Ink. Then I blended some of our Noir Dye Ink with water and splattered a bit of the ink onto my blended die cut panel. Once the panel was dry, I adhered it onto a side folding A2 base. Then I popped up my clusters in their respective negative areas on the base (this way you use the positive and negative spaces of the cardstock while stamping leaving no waste or scraps!).

For my sentiment, I started off my heat embossing a portion of a piece of black cardstock using silver glitter embossing powder. Then I die cut my hello word plate from this panel but I made sure that the embossed portion covered only half of my sentiment. Next I popped up my glittery, two toned sentiment onto the middle portion of my card. Lastly, I embellished my card using our Silver Dew Drops.

  2. Kymona Tracey
  3. Laura Jane
  4. Dana Gong

I made four cards for today’s mini hop!

For my first two cards, I used our layered cluster Painted Peonies set.

painted peonies simple

My first card is probably the simplest card that I’ve made for this release. I simply stamped the cluster layers in using our Ruby and Crystal Garden (Soft Garden + Bright) Collection layering inks and then stamped the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink. Voila! Easy, CAS and effortlessly gorgeous card DONE!

woodgrain painted peonies

For my next card, I stamped my Painted Peony cluster in the same inks as my previous card.

After I stamped the cluster, I die cut the entire image using the coordinating die. Next I stamped my Buildable Woodgrain background using our Cocoa Collection layering inks. Then I die cut a stitched border from my woodgrain panel using the first and second largest dies from our Double Stitched Rectangles Die Set (large). I adhered the inner panel directly onto a side folding A2 base and popped up the border.

Next I took a panel that I created from our Glossy Fine Glitter Gold adhesive paper and third largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangles Die Set (small) and adhered this to the center of my woodgrain panel. Next I popped up my Painted Peonies cluster onto the glitter piece and then added my sentiment (from our Coming Up Daisies set) strip right on top of the cluster. Lastly, I embellished my card using our Clear Dew Dropshaute gala birds

For my next card, I used our Haute Gala Dress set again! I couldn’t stay away! This time I went in a totally different direction from yesterday’s projects. For today, I created an actual scene using our Autumn Wishes set (which has adorable bird images and gorgeous branch clusters). I went for a Cinderella-like theme for this card.  I probably should have colored her dress in blue but I had already heat embossed the image at this point. Also, by not coming in the dress, I kept this card fairly CAS.

I started off by stamping the dress image onto regular cardstock in our Noir Dye Ink. Then I immediately heat embossed the dress details using gold glitter embossing powder. Next, I colored in the image using zig markers (Flesh Color, Blush, Brown).  Then I die cut the image using the coordinating die.

Then I stamped the large leaf cluster and birds from our Autumn Wishes set on cardstock with our Noir Dye Ink. I also colored these images in with zig markers (May Green, Geranium Red, Green Shadow, Oatmeal, Haze Blue and Deep Green). Once colored, I die cut the cluster and birds. Then I stamped our City Buildings background stamp on cardstock using our Light Onyx Dye Ink.

Then I assembled my card by popping up my Haute Gala gal onto the City Buildings panel. Then I popped up the cluster and the birds around my gal. I made sure to adhere one of the birds on the gal giving this card a hint of whimsy. Lastly, I tamped the sentiment onto black cardstock using our Hampton White Pigment Ink and popped it up onto my card.

galaxy daisies

For my last card, I used our Fresh Cut Daisies Coordinating Outlines set.

I started off by heat embossing the entire sheet of stamps using our Rose Gold Embossing Powder.  I also stamped three stems in the vase. Then I watercolored the images using Color Burst watercolor powders. For the daisies, I used a combination of Marigold and Gamboge. For the leaves, I used Sap Green, Lime Green and Terre Vert. For the jar/vase, I used Ultramarine Blue.

Once I finished painting the images, I die cut everything using the coordinating dies. Next I I created my watercolored background on watercolor paper (Canson XL 140LB) using a combination of Prussian Blue and Indigo and black for the base.

Once my panel was dry (I expedited the drying process with my heat tool), I assembled the florals and jar. Next I stamped and popped up the sentiment (stamped in our Hampton White Pigment ink on black cardstock). Lastly, I added our Clear Dew Drops as embellishments.

I hope you all liked my cards! Be sure to join us back here tomorrow (and everyday until January 26) to continue celebrating our Third Anniversary!

It’s feathers galore today! I have been contemplating adding real feathers as embellishments to my projects for a while now because of the amazing dimension that you get from them. I finally decided that it was time. They’re such a fun and whimsical accessory to embellish your projects with.  There’s nothing like a gorgeous feather that screams handmade chic!

For my first two cards, I featured our new and fabulous Haute Gala Dress.

dress piink feathers

Photo taken against our White Bokeh and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

I started off by stamping our Haute Gala Dress gal onto white cardstock with our crisp black Noir Dye Ink. Then I colored her in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Tip markers (Flesh, Blush, Light Gray, Pale Gray, Dark Brown). Next I heat embossed the glitter detailing on her dress which is a separate stamp in this set. I used silver glitter embossing powder for this element to give the card a bit of bling. Once I was done coloring and embossing this image, I use the coordinating die to cut her out.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

Next I stamped our lovely Peony Notes on two separate pieces of cardstock. For my peony florals, I used Rose Quartz, a secret ink color for my midtone hue (this gorgeous pink will debut next month for our new ink release) and Pink Derby Dye inks. For my foliage, I used Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz Dye Inks. Next I stamped the sentiment from the same Haute Gala Dress set onto the floral panel with our Noir Dye Ink. Once I finished stamping, I die cut the other floral cluster using the coordinating die.

Finally I began to assemble my card starting with my Peony Notes non die cut panel and feathers. I used a combination of our Mint and White Simple feathers for this card. I adhered my feathers down using tape and/or liquid adhesive. I made sure the feathers were wispy and delicate.  Next I popped up my Haute Gala Gal onto the panel.  Then I popped up my die cut Peony Notes cluster at the bottom edge of my project. For the last touch, I added a 1cm Clear Glass Heart Gem (smaller heart gem) above my sentiment which I adhered using Glue Dots.

dress piink feathers2

For my next card I colored in my Haute Gala Gal using the same zig markers from my previous project. The only difference for this card was that I only partially stamped this gal because I really only needed the top half of the image.

natural feathers dress

Photo taken against our White Bokeh and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

Once I colored her in, I used the coordinating die to cut her out. Then I trimmed the portion of the dress so that it tapered down a bit. Next I stamped our Riotous Wildflowers on cardstock in our Noir Dye Ink. Then I stamped the sentiment on a separate piece of white cardstock. Next I double mounted my sentiment strip on an additional strip of black cardstock and then finally a strip of gorgeous silver glitter adhesive paper. I adhered my sentiment onto my Riotous Wildflower panel by peeling the protective backing off the sliver glitter paper.

natural feathers dress2.jpg

Next I adhered three of our White Simple feathers together with tape. Then I adhered my feather bundle behind my gal. Next I started building her dress using White Simple, Tawny Simple, Orange Fine and Natural Fawn Feathers. I used liquid adhesive to adhere everything in place. One my dress was complete, I added a mix of our new Square Glass Gems to embellish my card.

tulips feathers

Photo taken against our White Bokeh and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my last project, I used our Loose Tulips and Buildable Woodgrain stamps.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

I started off by heat embossing my tulip images using our Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored everything using Color Bursts (Peony, Lemon Yellow, Sap Green and Terre Vert). Next I die cut everything using the coordinating dies.

Then I stamped my buildable woodgrain using our Found Topaz, Aspen Cocoa and Dark Roast Dye Inks. I finally used the plank stamp (3 straight line stamp) in this set for a project and I totally love the look behind my bouquet of tulips!

tulips feathers2

Next I added stitching to the edges of my woodgrain panel and added a die cut window at the same time using the largest and third largest dies from our Double Stitched Rectangle Dies. Finally, I assembled my card using our new Fine Green and Blue long feathers. For my tulips, leaves and stems, I popped up everything that was above my wood panel. If one of the elements was above the feathers, I just applied liquid adhesive to adhere them down. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment (from our Sweet Folk Hummingbird set) onto black cardstock using our Hampton White Pigment Ink.

One tip for using feathers on your projects is to plan your arrangement or placement in advance. Then adhere everything down once you know where everything is going to be placed. This will make your crafting life much easier.

I hope you all liked my cards! Be sure to join us back here tomorrow (and everyday until January 26) to continue celebrating our Third Anniversary!

For my projects today, I created four cards using our new Coming Up Daisies cluster stamp!

zig coming up daisies

Photo taken against our White Marble and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my first card, I did some watercoloring with zig markers.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

I started off by stamping the cluster image onto mixed media paper. I had a whole pad lying around so I decided to try watercoloring on this paper. I didn’t use too much water while painting this project so there was minimal warping even though the paper was somewhat light (lighter than cardstock!).

zig coming up daisies 2

For my daisies, I used Carmine and Wine Red Zig Markers. For my foliage, I used a combination of Emerald Green, Green and Marine Green Zig Markers. Once I finished painting my daisies, I stamped the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink. Next I trimmed my panel and then adhered it onto a side folding A2 base. Lastly, I embellished my project using our delicate Clear Rhinestones.

pink coming up daisies

Photo taken against our White Marble and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my next card, I used the large Coming Up Daisy cluster by embossing the corners of my watercolor panel. I embossed the cluster using our Rose Gold embossing powder. Then I loosely watercolored the images using my Holbein watercolors (Opera, Permanent Green #1 and Viridian Hue).

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

Once my panel was dry, I die cut the ornate window using our Modern Labels coordinating dies. I also added stitching to the edges of my panel using the largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangles Large set. Next I heat embossed the sentiment (Painted Peonies) in our Rose Gold powder. I then adhered the die cut shape/label onto a side folding A2 base and popped up the painted panel. Lastly, I embellished my project using our Clear Dew Drops.

For my next two projects, I did some VERY loose watercoloring. I will be totally honest here: these two panels were originally stamped as testers! I had no intention of actually turning them into cards but they were on my desk and I really hate waste… I have so many bits and pieces of stamped images and unfinished panels on my desk that I have vowed to start finishing my projects as I go (even if it kills me!!).

loose orange daisies

Photo taken against our White Marble and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

So I grabbed this stamped panel (I originally stamped the image onto watercolor cardstock using our Noir Dye Ink). Then proceeded to watercolor with my Color Bursts. For this card, I used a combination of Tangerine, Cadmium Red, Gamboge, Sap Green and Yellow Ochre. Once I finished painting in the cluster, I created a mask of the image on printer paper using the coordinating die. Then I temporarily adhered my mask onto the image and proceeded to splatter Merlot Color Bursts on negative areas for interest.

loose orange daisies2

Once the panel was dry, I added stitching to my panel using the largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangles Large set. Then, I stamped my sentiment onto dark gray cardstock using our Hampton White Pigment Ink. Lastly, I trimmed my sentiment tag and popped it up onto my finished project.

loose pink daisies

Photo taken against our White Marble and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my pink card, I used the same technique as the tangerine version. The only difference is the colors that I used. For this project, I used a combination of Peony, Sap Green and Terre Vert Color Bursts.

For my projects today, I created three cards using our new Riotous Wildflowers Photopolymer 6×6 Background stamp.

Screen Shot 2018-01-21 at 6.19.30 AM.png

Photo taken with our White Brick and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my first card, I started off by white heat embossing the background image onto watercolor paper (Canson XL 1140 lb watercolor paper). Then I painted in the images using Color Bursts (Fuchsia, Sap Green, Gamboge) using the wet on wet watercoloring technique.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

After I finished painting the panel, I added stitching to the edges of the panel using the largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangles Large set. Then I die cut a window using the smallest die in this Double Stitched Rectangles set.  Once I finished my die cutting, I blended some ink (Soft Garden and Bright Fern) halfway up the negative space/window of my top folding A2 cardbase. Finally, I popped up my die cut panel onto the base using dimensional tape and added Clear Rhinestones for a subtle and delicate finish.

For my next card, I heat embossed the Riotous Wildflowers image onto watercolor cardstock using our Rose Gold embossing powder. Then I watercolored the image using Color Bursts (Indigo, Terre Vert, Marsala).

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

Once I finished painting the panel, I added stitching to the edges of my panel using the largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangles Large set. At the same time, I die cut my sentiment using our new Bold General Greetings Word Plate Dies.

Screen Shot 2018-01-21 at 6.39.23 AM

Photo taken with our White Paint Backdrop Board

I only used the negative space for my sentiment here (I used the die cut letters in the next card). Next I took a side folding A2 base and adhered some gorgeous Pink Holographic Adhesive Paper to the base where the sentiment will cover. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto the base!

Screen Shot 2018-01-21 at 6.19.36 AM

Photo taken with our White Brick and Smooth White Wood Backdrop Boards

For my last card today, I made a quick card using the left over die cut letters from my previous card.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

I started off by white heat embossing the Riotous Wildflowers onto watercolor cardstock. Then I created a soft watercolored frame on my panel using Indigo and Terre Vert Color Bursts. I used the same colors from the previous card/die cut letters to ensure that that the project as a whole was cohesive.

Let’s move on to the rest of the release! Today, we’re debuting 3 new Couture Mixes and 8 stamps and coordinating dies.

For our mixes today, we have our new Lilac Blossoms, Mint Sugar and Pink Blossoms. Click on each photo for a closer view.

I have a confession to make! I’m a lazy crafter! That is one of the reasons why I LOVE word dies. While I love the look of the bold font greetings created with alpha dies, I found that I do not have the patience to line up individual letters to create die cut greetings nor do I have patience to die cut multiple letters should I need more than one for a particular sentiment. So I decided to take create simple word plate dies using a bold font for all occasion sentiments and took the muscle work out for you with these new die collections! *You’re Welcome* (just kidding… but seriously, these have a permanent home on my craft desk)

Approximate measurements:

  1. happy: 3 5/16 inches
  2. birthday: 4 10/16 inches
  3. you: 2 inches
  4. thank: 3 1/8 inches
  5. wishes: 3 7/8 inches
  6. hello: 2 3/4 inches
  7. to: 1 1/16 inches
  8. best: 2 3/8 inches

Approximate measurements:

  1. you’re: 2 5/16 inches
  2. wonderful: 5 1/8 inches
  3. gorgeous: 5 1/16 inches
  4. fabulous: 4 11/16 inches
  5. amazing: 4 7/16 inches

Winter Folk Cardinal 4x6 Clear water

Winter Cardinal, 4×6 Photopolymer Set

Christmas may be over but we are still in the heart of winter. So I designed this sweet Winter Cardinal for those cozy projects and winter birthday cards! This is actually a design that I came up with while I was in my stamp carving mood. For more photos and possible sneak peeks of future designs, follow me on my crafty IG page. I have taken a lot of my stamp carving designs and turned them into clear stamps.

Riotous Wildflower Garden 6x6 Clear water

Riotous Wildflowers, 6×6 Photopolymer Background Stamp

Our new Riotous Wildflowers background stamp is one of my absolute favorites from this release! This 6×6 clear background stamp features a beautiful floral pattern that really comes to life when colored with your favorite medium. Coordinating dies will be available on Thursday for the two bloom clusters on the bottom portion of the image making this a very versatile stamp! Use it as a background stamp or feature the die cut blooms as a standalone focus for your next project.

Coordinating dies for the following sets will also be available on Thursday, January 18 at 7am EST: Fresh Cut Daisies, Large Florals: Daisy, Coming Up Daisies, Riotous Wildflowers, Winter Cardinal.

October Release Blog Hop

Screen Shot 2017-10-25 at 6.09.54 PM.png

Hello and welcome to our October Release Blog Hop! This was a delayed hop as our release came about earlier this month. To ensure our team members and guest had enough time to create we had to push the hop back. I hope the wait was worth it because we have some fabulous inspiration for you using our new October Release stamps! Most of the sets were designed or co-designed by our very own Eunji!

For our hop, we have a shipping discount for domestic orders. Our shipping promo ends on November 1 at 11:59pm. This promotion does not apply to prior purchases. The threshold amount is calculated before taxes and shipping. For U.S. orders, receive free shipping on orders over $75. Use code “USOCT17” at checkout.

All new stamps are available now with the exception of our Daffodil Greetings which will be available on November 1. We also have a giveaway so be sure to reach the end of this post for more details.

autumn wishes windows

For my card today, I used our adorable Autumn Wishes set.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel because I update it regularly with videos every week!

I started off creating a windows panel from cardstock using our Double Stitched Rectangle (large) and Square (small) dies. I traced the windows onto a separate card panel and blended some bright inks (Beach Blondie Dye, Bright Emerald Dye, Rose Quartz Dye) into the negative portions.

Next I stamped the smaller leaf clusters and birds using our Noir Dye Ink and colored them in using Tombow Dual Tip brush markers. Once everything was colored, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.  Then I stamped the sentiment onto the windowed panel using our Noir Dye Ink.

Next, I used dimensional foam tape to pop up my windowed panel onto my blended panel. Then I adhered all the branches and sweet birds onto the windowed panel using additional foam tape. Lastly, I embellished my project using our Clear Rhinestones.

GIVEAWAY

We’re giving away one stamp of choice from our October Release to a commenter! To qualify, you must leave a comment on each blog on the hop. The comment period will close on Sunday, October 29 at 7pm EST. The winner will be announced on The Ton blog thereafter.

Your next stop on this hop is Olga! Thanks for hopping along, everyone!

Hello and welcome back to the final day of our October 2017 Release! We are so excited to debut 11 new stamps and 10 coordinating dies for this release. If you’re joining us for the first time today, please note that we are doing things a bit differently for this release.  Our team has not made any cards for our Release Weekend as their stamps are on their way to them as we speak.  However, you will see their gorgeous creations at the end of the month where we will have a fun blog hop with prizes! For today, I have made several cards showcasing our Day 3 sets. We also have a giveaway so make sure to scroll down to see all the details.

For my first card, I white heat embossed our new Thankful Chrysanthemum set. Then I added vibrant watercolors to color the image (Fuchsia, Lime Green and Gamboge Color Bursts). After I finished painting, I die cut my panel using the largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangle dies (small) set. Then I made my own glitter cardstock using our Red Glitter Adhesive paperRed Glitter Adhesive paper.  Next I mounted my painted panel onto my glitter base. Lastly, I added Clear Dew Drops to embellish my card. chrys red glitter 2

For my next card, I used our Celebration Rose Cluster and Daffodil Greetings sets.

I started off by rose gold heat embossing our Celebration Rose Cluster in the corner of my A2 sized watercolor panel (Canson XL 140lb watercolor paper). Then I masked the rose cluster and partially heat embossed our Daffodil Greetings next to my rose cluster. This is a great way to stretch your floral cluster stamps – add additional florals to create a different/larger floral cluster!

After I heat embossed my customized cluster, I painted them with color bursts. Instead of blending out my first layer of color, I applied a very concentrated amount of paint and added shading to the petals using a second hue. For my roses, I used Alizarin Crimson and Merlot color bursts. For my daffodils, I used Gamboge and Tangerine. For my leaves, I used Lime Green and Terre Vert. For my background, I used Turquoise bursts. After I finished painting, I added stitching to the edges of the panel using our Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (large) set. Next I popped up my white embossed sentiment banner and embellished my card with clear rhinestones.

rose close up color pencils

For my last project, I merely stamped Rose Close Up and did some no line coloring.

To color, I started off with a first layer of a light copic marker. Then I added more color and depth using 4 color pencils (Faber Castell Polychromos). After I finished coloring this piece, I didn’t have the heart to cut it up to turn it into a finished card (it took me more than an hour to just color this piece). I will likely frame this later on.  However, I still wanted to showcase this piece for today.

I apologize for the lack of cards today! I am hoping that quality of my work compensates for the quantity (or lack thereof) for today.

***Don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel because I’ll be updating our channel with more videos on how I made my release cards!***

All of our new October Release items are available for preorder now (with the exception of our GWP item)!
