Eagles Fly Alone

Hello everyone!!! Hope your week is going well so far! It’s TaeEun here today with an encouragement card! The first day of the new school year is just around the corner (at least where I am 🙂 )! So I thought some of our younger friends need a good amount of encouragement to start off their new chapter !

For today’s card I used Eagle, Mountains and Thoughtful Poppies.

To create the silver eagle I die cut the eagle from some white cardstock using coordinating die. I then silver heat embossed the third layer of the body, detail layer of the tail and head and solid layer of the feet. The eye, mouth and the claws were stamped in Noir. The mountain was die cut using coordinating die from some black cardstock. I stamped the third layer on it in Hampton white pigment ink. I stamped it twice with the help of Misti tool to make it brighter. The second layer was stamped in Hampton white pigment ink as well, but this time only once, so that the layers could be seen.

The Thoughtful Poppies was silver heat embossed on some watercolor paper, colored using Brusho powders and die cut with coordinating die.  I then prepared the dark red cardbase. I wanted an ombre look of it, so I blended Dark Roast, Spiced Chai and Pink Derby on the upper third of the cardbase. The sentiment is from Eagle set. I heat embossed it in silver on the cardbase. To assemble my card I glued the mountain flat on the cardbase and foam mounted the eagle and the poppy cluster onto the card. I cut out the poppies along the edge of the card. Some sequins from Spotlight Couture mix and Glossy Black sequins mix were my finishing touch!

Happy Early 4th of July

4th eagle.jpg

Hello and welcome back to our blog! Before I begin with my card, I have a small product announcement: our Summer 2017 Release Incentive Products are now available for sale in our shop!

For today, I have a patriotic card for an early Fourth of July card created with our new Eagle and Mountains sets.

I started off by die cutting my eagle shape onto cardstock. I kept it within the panel with some washi tape because this prevented the shifting of the piece of cardstock as I stamped my layers. The reason I die cut my panel first before stamping the actual eagle was to ensure that my stamping was precise and that it coordinated with the die.

I stamped the body of my eagle starting with the third layer in our Dark Roast ink. Then I stamped the first two layers with Warm Hazelnut and Found Topaz. The head was stamped with Crystal Pewter (our lightest gray ink). The tail was stamped with our Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz. The beak was stamped with Amber Citrine. The feet were stamped in Amber Citrine and Peach Blossom. The details on the head (eye and beak) and talons were stamped with our Noir dye ink. Once my eagle was completely stamped, I took the washi tape off from behind the panel and set the eagle aside as I stamped my mountains.

For my Mountains, I used our Pewter collection inks. I added landscape details by stamping the trees with our Noir dye ink. Next I die cut the mountains using the coordinating die.

Next I used Alizarin Crimson and Indigo Colorbursts to create a watercolored background.  After I dried my watercolor panel, I splattered some clean water drops onto the panel and lifted color off the panel with a paper towel. This helped create some texture to the background.

Then I created a top folding horizontal cardbase and adhered silver glitter tape to the top and bottom edges. Then I adhered my watercolor panel onto the base and popped up my mountains and eagle over my background. Next I stamped my banner and sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink and then die cut the banner with its coordinating die. I added shading to the banner with my zig markers (haze blue and light gray). Once the banner was complete, I popped it up under my eagle.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thanks for stopping by and have a happy and safe holiday!

Happy Father’s Day

Hello and happy Father’s Day to daddies!!! I think there must be some who stop by The Ton blog, right :)? It’s TaeEun here today. I have two cards made using some of our new products from Summer 2017 Release to share with you.

We have released some gorgeous layering stamp sets like Eagle , Beer, Mountains and Wave, which work great for masculine designs. For today I’ve made a Father’s day card using Mountains stamp set and the sentiment from Beer.

To start off I drew the blue sky on some watercolor paper with blue Distress inks and added the clouds with opaque white watercolor. Set it aside, I then stamped the mountain layers in Soft Garden, Deep Emerald and Everglade Moss and fussy cut it. The airplane and the hanging banner are from City Girls Park Life stamp set. I silver heat embossed them on a shimmer cardstock and die cut them using Coordinating dies.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on the banner in Noir. I then started assembling my card. The sky panel was glued flat on the card base, the mountain, airplane and the banner were added using foam adhesives. The bold sentiment is from Beer stamp set. I stamped it in Noir on a strip of shimmer cardstock and added it to the card. To finish off I adhered three Silver Dew Drops on the right upper corner.

For my next card I wanted to watercolor our beautiful Summer Blooms 🙂 ! I enjoyed a quite relaxing coloring time and this is the result!

TheTon0618 2 1WM

I stamped the floral cluster from Summer Blooms on some Bristol Smooth paper. I used Distress inks for stamping as I wanted to do no-line watercoloring. I colored the image using Zig Brush markers. After done with coloring I cut it with Coordinating die. As the colors I used for my flowers are rather light, I decided to put them on a dark background. I chose a textured purple cardstock and splattered some blue and silver pearl watercolor on it. I die cut four half circle lines, which is a part of the Pragmatic Wreaths , from some silver cardstock. On the card base I stamped Minor Stripes in Grape Crush. I then foam mounted the purple panel, added the wreath die cuts to embellish the panel and foam mounted the Summer Blooms. I die cut the sentiment using hugs word die from silver cardstock, on which I adhered Glossy fine Transparent adhesive glitter paper. This transparent adhesive glitter paper is awesome, as you can create a glitter paper in any color! To finish off I scattered some sequins from Valentine Icing, Pink Diamond and Royal Garden Party.

By the way the backdrop on my pictures is the backdrop board Bokeh Glow from our Boutique!
