Soft Floral Cards

Hello crafty friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!  It’s TaeEun here today with two soft floral cards.

For the first card I combined Watercolor Wreaths and Peony Terrace Cling background stamp as they have the same watercolor look. For my second card I created a clean and dreamy composition of florals and greenery using City Girls Book Life, Wild Peonies and Mini Wild Florals stamp sets.

Let’s take a look at my cards :)!

To create my first card I started by die cutting the floral wreath from Watercolor Wreath from a Bristol Smooth paper panel using coordinating die. I then taped the negative panel together to heat emboss the Peony Terrace on it in some white pearl embossing powder. I then stamped the floral wreath from Watercolor Wreath using Aquamarkers on the positive die cut. I colored the flowers on the stamp in pink or yellow and the leaves in green and stamped it. I then added details using Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment in Noir is from Penned Sentiments set which was stamped on a silver heat embossed banner from Basic Banners. I die cut the banner using coordinating die. To assemble my card I foam mounted the negative panel on a gray cardbase and placed the wreath, first a fun foam die cut and then the colored die cut. The fun foam is thicker than my foam adhesive, so that the wreath is popped up slightly over the front panel. I then adhered the banner. To finish off I went over the flowers with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle marker and added a few Glass Slippers Round Confetti around the wreath.

You can see the shimmer on the Peony Terrace background and the glitter on the wreath better in close up picture below.

My second card was made, inspired by the sentiment from Sunnies set. “You wake up fabulous.” Hope you can see what I wanted to represent 🙂 .

To start off I stamped small greenery stamps from Wild Peonies and Mini Wild Florals stamp sets on a A2 sized white cardstock. The colors I used are Caribbean Turquoise, Bright Emerald, Cobalt Breeze and Ocean Teal.. I then stamped the lady from Born Classy in Caviar Hybrid ink on that panel and die cut it using coordinating die. I colored her with Copic markers. I added Ocean Teal on the bottom edge of the front panel by blending. I stamped the flower bouquet from City Girls Book Life set on a separate white cardstock, colored it with Copic markers as well and die cut it with coordinating die.  I then cut the part with two hands out and glued the bouquet on the hair of the lady. The sentiment from Sunnies was gold heat embossed on a strip of vellum. I adhered both ends of the vellum strip on the back of the front panel and mounted the panel flat on a white cardbase. The lady was foam mounted onto her place on the front panel. A coat of glitter was added on the flower bouquet and on the dress using Spectrum Noir clear sparkle marker. To finish off I added some sequins from Smoked Emerald Sparkling Clear Sequins mix.

Treat Yourself

Hello everyone! It’s TaeEun here today with two cards saying “Treat Yo Self”.

I used two chic and classy stamp sets from our new Release: City Girls (Retail Therapy) and Born Classy and their coordinating dies. I know many of you fell in love with this unique sets like me :)!

On the first card I’ve created a night city scene with three ladies enjoying their free time shopping and sightseeing. I started off by making the night sky with city light. I blended Lemon Drop, Coralline hybrid, Parisian Blue, Iris Blooms and Noir Couture colors, after I masked one third of the A2 watercolor panel. Some splatters using silver watercolor were added and some dots using gel pens. I then stamped the skyline of the city from the Vogue Skies stamp set in Noir dye ink and then once more in embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. For the walkway I stamped the bottom part of the Scenes: Dept. Store cling background stamp in Crystal Pewter. I watercolored the walkway in silver to give it some shimmer and added thin silver glitter tape underneath the buildings. I mounted the front panel on the card base using some foam adhesive.

The ladies, the little dog and the bags from the City Girls (Retail Therapy) stamp set were stamped using our copic-friendly Caviar hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers and cut using Coordinating dies. I glued two ladies and the little dog flat on the card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, which I silver heat embossed on some purple cardstock and cut into a banner. The sentiment was foam mounted on the card with a lady.

To make my second card I started out by stamping the flowers and greenery from Mini Wild Florals stamp set along the diagonal of the front panel. I used Soft Garnet, Orchid Crush and Rose Quartz for the flowers, Soft Garden, Bright Ememrald and Crystal Pewter for the greenery. I then added tiny flowers from Floral World stamp set in Iris Blooms as filler. I die cut the lady from the Born Classy stamp set using coordinating die out of the front panel and then stamped the lady in Orchid Crush on the die cut. I colored her skin and hair using Copic markers. To assemble the card I adhered thin strip of purple cardstock on both sides of my card base, the front panel flat on it and then foam mounted the lady in place. After I added shimmer on her hair and dress using Wink of Stella,I glued the silver heat embossed vellum part on the dress. The sentiments are from City Girls (Retail Therapy). To finish off I scattered some sequins from the Glass Slippers sequins mix.

I have one more picture to share with you. This is the second card before I added the vellum part. I was having a hard time deciding with or without…, till my  4 year old girl insisted on the version with the vellum layer :). I can’t say which one is more appealing to me. I actually like both of them. What do you think?

Weekend Blog Take-Over With Taheerah Atchia – Day 2!

Hi everyone, and happy Sunday! It’s Taheerah again and I’m back with Day 2 of my weekend take-over of The Ton’s blog! If you didn’t catch yesterday’s post then please do check it out!

The Ton Blog Take-Over - Taheerah Atchia

Today I’ve another couple of fun projects for you featuring several of the amazing stamp sets in The Ton’s line-up!

First up, an outside-the-box use of Pyrotechnics:

Happy Card

Fun, right?!

Happy Card - Detail

I used the largest dot image to create a fun background! And to add some interest, I created an irregular ‘polka dot’ pattern using the reverse of one of the tiny flower images in the Mini Wild Florals set! I love doing fun techniques with the backs of stamps!

My next project showcases all those amazing frames from the Vintage Frames set:

Shine Frames Card

I really love how this one turned out! I heat embossed several of the frames with gold embossing powder for an opulent feel!

You might be able to tell that I love the colour combo of gold, pink and mint/green! I added some of the florals from Mini Wild Florals then watercoloured over some of the other frames. A partially inked sentiment from the Round Diamonds set completes the look!

I’ve absolutely loved being a Guest Designer for The Ton this weekend, and I hope you’ve felt the same! I want to thank Effie so much for having me! If you want to see more of my work please check out my blog, and please also leave a comment on this post! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Florals

Hello! I’m still on my trip 🙂 I wanted to share this set of vintage floral cards. I have been enjoying using I Got You, Get It Girl, and Mini Wild Florals soo much! I love how versatile they are and perfect for stamping, embossing, cardmaking, scrapbooking, notecards, bookmarks, journaling, etc.

For this first card, I stamped Altenew’s Wood Pallet Background on kraft cardstock. I stamped the florals and ferns from Mini Wild Florals in the bottom right using various dye inks and stamped the sentiment from Get It Girl in black dye ink in the center. The kraft cardstock was die-cut slightly smaller than size A2. I took black cardstock and ran it through this gorgeous triangles embossing folder for added texture.

For the second card, I stamped the florals in more places and stamped the sentiment from I Got You with black dye ink. I placed this piece over pink cardstock for a different look.

Here’s a look at both of the cards next to each other. Do you like this look? They were very simple and quick to create – that’s why I love these stamps!
