Tons of XOXOs

Hello everyone! It’s LauraJane, with many, ahem…TONS, of XOXO cards today:)) I wanted to share how versatile the XOXO mini stamp set and coordinating die is. They aren’t just for Valentine’s day after all!  Hugs and kisses can be sent throughout the year

Warning: photo heavy post.

Here is the stash of items I’ll be using for all the cards in this post:TT-WIP-Feb22-LauraJane

To begin making these cards I stamped the XOXO mini stamp set  with Valentine Red couture color ink. And cut each one out with the coordinating die. Then continued to cut a few xoxos out of almost white CS, for stacking up purposes.

Going with a similar color palette, I searched/found several cardfronts that I liked in my drawer of,”could be used for later” ..there are TONS of them:)) as I don’t like to toss anything in the trash bin!

I’ll share each card individually and supplies used for each one.

For the first card, I DID stamp the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment on the banner, however, Thinking of you, or any other tagline could be stamped in its place.TT-Feb22-xoxo1-LauraJane

Anemone Wishes

Happy Monday everyone! It’s LauraJane today with a quick card featuring Anemone Wishes. This is my first time playing with the set since the release, and I found it easy to Emboss, color and pop onto a striped Background. I cut an extra layer of the coordinating die from black CS giving it a shadow effect.

Here it is:)

Mood Board Inspired

Hello everyone! It’s LauraJane today, sharing a card that was inspired by the Mood Board at The Ton Challenge Blog .   I can’t seem to move away from the beautiful, FRESH colors on this board chosen by Effie.

If you haven’t seen the board here it is:

Mood Board

SCRUMPTIOUS, RIGHT?!?

I reached for the newly released Sunflower Border Cling and the MISTI, several Zig markers in colors coordinating with the Mood Board. 021,026,041,045,046,050,069,098,200,202,220,222,230

My favorite paper to use with the Cling stamps and ZIGs is by RANGER, Gloss Finish. When using the MISI, the color pools in unexpected places adding to the watercolor look without adding any water.  After the background was colored to my satisfaction, I used the Sunflower Border Coordinating Die to cut the center from the panel.

Sunnies Times Three

Hello everyone! It’s LauraJane sharing three fun cards using the new SUNNIES stamp set and coordinating dies.  How Cute are these?! Surely you can understand how I got carried away with ideas for this set. I checked out a Board on Pinterest and then began creating.

Sunnies 4x6 Clear water      18920872_10103562206077279_8049453082832746677_o

Starting with the first pair of SUNNIES at the top of the set, I stamped a rainbow background using Soft Garnet, Peach Blossom, Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Soft Garden, Cali Blue, and Soft Amethyst Couture inks. Then I embossed each one with Clear EP and trimmed the panel down with the 3 7/8 x 5 1/8″ die from the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small) I then quickly used Copic N1 to add a hint of shadowing.IMG_9391bNext I heat embossed the sentiment onto black CS with White EP . Created a nest of DMC Metallic Thread – Light Silver and popped it into place with Foam tape. I think this kind of card  is perfect for anyone needing encouragement in our lives. IMG_9394

This next pair is my FAVORITE!IMG_9425

These SWEET SUNNIES embellished with pretty blooms, is Embossed with the gorgeous Rose Gold Embossing Powder and cut with matching the coordinating die.  Flesh color, Blush and Light Pink Zigs are what I used to color in the flowers. Olive green for the leaves. Then I shaded in the lens with Flesh color ZIG and added Glossy Accents for a bit of shine!

IMG_9424On a white piece of CS trimmed with the 3 7/8 x 5 1/8″ die from the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small) , I heat embossed Brushed YOU with Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Then, cut it out with the Coordinating Die and In-Laid it back into place.

Layered the YOU panel onto a piece of CS stamped with Sunflower Garden Cling Background  with only the leaves colored in. This panel was trimmed with the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). The BG was stamped with Rose Gold Bangle Pigment Ink Set

In order to make that FUN sentiment work , I carefully cut the word you from the stamp in the SUNNIES set and inked it with Caviar onto white CS. Then colored it with the Peeled Paint Distress Oxide. Cut it down to make a small banner and glued it into place. Finished the card by embellishing with SUMMER SOIREE Couture mix which is the incentive mix from the SUMMER RELEASE. IMG_9410

I couldn’t leave the SUNNIES without playing with the Third pair!

So I quickly heat embossed them with Black Sparkle EP. I just love that kiss of glitter in this powder! The Coordinating Die made easy trimming out. Then I colored the open spaces and lens with Copic B000 and B02.IMG_9402

Going for a cool summer poolside look, I Heat embossed Haute Stripes with White EP and drew a shadow of color with Copic B000 under each stripe. Trimmed the panel with 3 1/2 x 4 3/4″ die from Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large).  I stamped the sentiment with Noir. Layered that onto a panel inked with the Rose Terrace Cling Background and  Couture Color – Blue Minis.IMG_9407

There you go! Three very different Sunnies. Hope you enjoyed seeing how I created with this set.

Cuppa Sunshine!

Hello everyone, it’s LauraJane today:) I have a sweet teacup of sunflowers for you today using the SUNFLOWER BOUQUET.…. In my last post I shared a video on how I colored the Outlines of the Fresh Cut Sunflowers with Ziggys. Well, I wasn’t quite finished coloring Sunflowers I guess! These are a bit on the Pink-ish side with a hint of Yellow:)

The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane

  • I started out by stamping the Sunflower Bouquet onto a piece of Bristol Smooth 100lb paper.  I stamp the bouquet with Vanilla Frosted Cupcake Dye ink..
  • Using a clean water blush, I began with the YELLOW,050 Zig to lay down a base color on each petal.
  • Then added BLUSH,069 at the base of each petal and where I thought a shadow might be. No water added.
  • Continuing with more shadows with BRICK BEIGE, 075 in the darkest part of each petal tip and connecting point at the center.
  • More flicks of color with LIGHT CARMINE,021 BRIGHT YELLOW,052, and PEACH PINK,202
  • Dotted the center of each flower with BRICK BEIGE, BLUSH, and PALE ROSE,230
  • Added a wash of YELLOW GREEN,053 over the dotted centers leaving just a bit of highlight
  • At this time I RE-STAMPED the bouquet, using the MISTI, with AMBER CITRINE dye ink because I wanted more yellow gold for teh petals to show through. I was pleased with the outcome!
  • Moving onto the leaves by quickly coloring with MID GREEN,046 and  OLIVE GREEN,043 for the shadows….clean waterbrush to blend on each leaf
  • Cut this bouquet out with the Sunflower Bouquet Coordinating Die and carefully trimmed the stems off. and set it aside.
  • The Tea Party cup and saucer were just the vessel to pop that bouquet into:) Tea Party Coordinating Dies made for easy cutting too.
  • I inked both the cup and saucer with SOFT ORCHID dye ink.  and colored a bit with the ENGLISH LAVENDER,803, BLUSH and PALE ROSE for some dimension. set those aside

Mini Heart Print Cling Background was colored with the PALE ROSE ZIG, spritzed with water and stamped onto white CS and trimmed with the largest Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small)

The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane2That sweet tiny HELLO is from PRAGMATIC WREATHS and trimmed to make a tea tag:) I then took all the pieces and arranged tham onto a light pink VELLUM covered cardbase using FOAM TAPE under the blooms and TOMBOW MULTI glue for the rest. I snuck a strip of GLITTER TAPE under the saucer so it didn’t look like it was floating:)

List of ZIG markers used: 021, 043, 046, 050, 052, 053, 069, 075, 202, 230, 803The Ton-Sunflower Bouquet-Tea Party-LauraJane4

I was thinking of other floral stamps that would look good in the teacup…what do YOU have in your stash?

ZIGGY coloring on Fresh Cut Sunflower Outlines

Hello Everyone, it’s LauraJane today.  Thanks for stopping in:)

I’ve been in a ZIG marker watercoloring mood these past few rainy days and thought the Fresh Cut Sunflowers Coord. Outlines would be just the ticket to help cheer the cloudy day blues. Coloring with ZIGs is relaxing . The ZIGs are very forgiving on the Bristol Smooth 100lb paper. Adding a bit of water moves the color around…if I don’t like the result I simply dab it off with a dry paper towel and add another layer ZIG Clean Color.

TTsunflowersos1

To begin,

I stamped the Fresh Cut Sunflowers Coord. Outline images onto Bristol Smooth 100lb paper with Vanilla Frosted Cupcake Dye. Then got My favorites Ziggys out.

  • 028 Pale Pink
  • 043 Olive Green
  • 046 Mid Green
  • 047 May Green
  • 050 Yellow
  • 052 Bright Yellow
  • 065 Mid Brown
  • 067 Mustard
  • 071 Flesh Color
  • 098 Pale Dawn Gray
  • 099 Cool Gray 1

Only two blooms and 4 leaves were needed for today’s card. But I like to stamp extras just in case something goes belly-up in the process 🙂

begin

I turned the camera on to video my process of coloring.  I made a short video of just two leaves getting colored. I LOVE coloring leaves as much as the blooms:))  You can watch HERE.

The full video coloring flowers and leaves is HERE

When finished coloring, I used the Fresh Cut Sunflowers Coordinating Dies to quickly cut them out.  I was tickled with how HAPPY and cheerful they look!

For the card:

Then I arranged my flowers and leaves and decided to quickly stamp and color two of the STEM images from the same set….cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. Adhered all the bits and pieces into place with Tombow Mono and Foam dimensional tape. Tied some blue floss for embellishment and finished with Laura’s Dreamy Blues Couture Mix.

A handful of Wishful Wildflowers

Hello, it’s LauraJane today. Hope you are having a beautiful day.

For today’s post I have several cards that I put together using the Wishful Wildflowers stamp set and the coordinating dies. After shopping at the new Boutique at The Ton, I simply had to play with the Peony Color Burst powder:)) and was delighted to see how different shades of red/pink could be achieved by varying the amount  of water used to mix with the powder.

These were my first two creative experiments: Using ALL the images from Wishful Wildflowers stamp set.  Both pieces are Heat embossed with Liquid Platinum EP. The top one is Watercolor paper and the bottom is Neenah Solar White 80# smooth.  For the pink one, I simply added more clear water to the paper and to the powder in the well of my pallette.TheTon-LauraJaneAfter playing with the color Burst I decided to use the pink piece and cut all the images out with the coordinating dies.  Then I heat embossed with Liquid Platinum EP the two arching images from Pragmatic Wreaths. Stamped the wreath blooms with Hollywood Star and Lemondrop. Added detail with  several ziggys to the Wishful Wildflower blooms and the wreath foliage. I will list the individual markers I used at the end of this post.Cut them out with the coordinating dies. Also I cut several Geometric Lattice Coverplate Die.

Here is a photo of all the bits and pieces before assembling my cards.TheTon-LaraJane4-18c

I was Thrilled to be able come up with THREE cards using the above supplies! With a panel of Freestyle Stripes thrown in:))TheTon-LauraJane-418a

For the first one, I needed a Wedding card:

I took one Geometric Lattice Coverplate cut from white CS and layered onto a white cardbase. Then I arranged the large cluster of wildflowers with a simple arch from Pragmatic Wreaths. Heat embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum EP onto black CS. And Embellished with Valentine Icing Couture Mix.IMG_4270The next one I cut the Geometric Lattice Coverplate from yellow CS. Then layered both arching images from Pragmatic Wreaths and several loose blooms from the colored Wishful Wildflowers . For the sentiment, I cut a 2 1/4″ circle with the Double Stitched Circle Dies (Small), stamped with Noir ink. Finished with Raspberry Sparkles couture Mix.IMG_4275

With a few more colored elements left over, I put together one last card. The panel stamped with Freestyle Stripes, inked with Amber Citrine, was cut with the largest  Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Small). Layered it onto a White panel cut with Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large).  Arranged the last of the blooms and wreath elements, cut in two pieces. Embellished with Glitter tape and  Raspberry Sparkles couture Mix. The sentiment is Liquid Platinum EP onto black CS.IMG_4277

Hope you enjoyed seeing my cards today, and it inspires you to PLAY, experiment and Create something you LOVE!

Coloring on the road with Thoughtful Poppies

Hello All! It’s LauraJane today:) I have a card I have been coloring with Zig Clean color markers, aka.Ziggys. Since #thedailymarker30day Coloring Challenge, hosted by Kathy Racoosin, has been taking place all month I wanted to do a bit of coloring each day. I chose to use Thoughtful Poppies stamp set with it’s lovely arrangement of poppy blooms and leaves!

I first stamped the main image from Thoughtful Poppies twice, onto Bristol Smooth watercolour paper, About 6″x 4″in size, using Vanilla Frosted Cupcake ink. Then I went on a trip with my family and took my card front and Ziggys with me to color on the very long drive from St. Louis MO to Dallas TX..over 12hrs each way….no, I was never the driver, yay! lucky me:))

Here is the first bit of coloring done somewhere in Oklahoma:20170314_120122

And the next one from somewhere in Missouri on the return trip:20170318_201753When I got home, I was delighted to find the Coordinating die for Thoughtful Poppies on it’s way to my door… So I waited patiently, and thought about my next move for this card. I decided to partially cut the two bundles of blooms with the said coordinating die.

This is what It looked like after partially cutting:20170321_163340

Then I continued to add more details and depth with the ziggys. Sometimes I must force myself to STOP coloring..I think I may have overworked this one in the end…

IMG_4026

I then cut an 8″ x 11″ CS long ways, Cut it again at 6″and stamped Minor Stripes Background with Rose Quartz. Stamped the Sentiment with Light Onyx, Heat embossed with clear EP and re-stamped the sentiment in Noir for a shadow effect.

Mounted the Thoughtful Poppies panel onto the striped BG and finished by embellishing with Cotton Candy Puff Mix

Joy in the Morning

Hello, and Welcome! It’s LauraJane today with a watercolored card featuring the beautiful Morning Glory Border Cling Background. I found this one to be a relaxing piece to color because of the many blooms and leaves, two of my favorite things to color:)img_3773a

I started by stamping the Morning Glory Border Cling Background onto an A2 sized piece of #140 watercolor paper. I chose to ink up the stamp with Soft Amethyst Dye because I wanted the blooms to be purple. As you can see in the photo I trimmed the panel with the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle dies.

I drew around all the inner images with a purple Ziggy and added a bit of water to create a light wash of color to the center.  This also defined where the blooms were and where the green for the leaves needed to be.

By coloring the middle and bringing the color outwards with a waterbrush allowed the blooms to be almost white.

img_3773

Once the border of blooms and leaves was finished and dried completely, I reached for the Alphas Lower and Upper to create my own sentiment…stamped in Grape Crush.

To finish the card I added a few Seaglass Blue Dew Drops – 7mm and Clear Dew Drops – Mixed

Thanks for stopping by today.

Border shaker made Easy

Hello! It’s LauraJane:) today.  Boy do I have a super easy shaker card thanks to the Floral Border Cling Background and the new Coordinating Die . Take a look!

img_3650

When Effie said she had this NEW die available, I said,”YES Ma’am! and Thank YOU!!”  Fussy cutting out the middle of the Floral Border Cling Background was never my favorite thing to do. The new Coordinating Die makes it so simple.

img_3655

Here is how I made the card:

Here’s a closer look:

img_3660

At this point I realized that the Congratulations Word Die was too long for the short end of my panel…so I carefully did some surgery and cut after the first “t” and before the “s” and spliced them together on the card front. Saying, “Congrats” for an anniversary, or a retirement, or maybe a new home:)) I’ll decide later and place the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card.

I finished the card by sprinkling a few sequins and flowers from the same two mixes from above.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and understood my instructions.
