Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at The Ton Stamps! May your day be filled with those you love, enjoying all the best motherhood has to offer!

Janette here sharing 2 cards that aren’t specific to Mother’s Day, because let’s face it, as much as I always like to be prepared, I’m not. I cover myself by making cards like these that are versatile and can be personalized on the interior of the card to suit the occasion. In this case, Happy Mother’s Day is stamped on the interior of the second card, “Wishing You All Kinds of Happy.”

Today’s cards feature Hello Hummingbird (+ die), and from the newest release, Wishful Wildflowers and Modern Labels (+ dies). Both are watercolored, one with a no-line effect and the other heat embossed in Gold.

This no-line watercolor card utilizes a heat embossed Modern Label direct onto the Wishful Wildflower image. Be sure to let the watercolor fully dry before embossing or stray specks of embossing powder will create a hot mess.

The hummingbird is 7 layer stamped in Soft Garden, Deep Emerald and Deep Sapphire for the wings/chest/beak. The back/head is Warm Hazelnut and Coral Cavern. The Throat is Valentine Red and Lipstick Red. You can see a video on the layering technique Effie created here.

The final touches include Coral Necklace Couture Mix sequins and the most awesome glitter adhesive paper. It has so much depth, but is glossy with a silky smooth finish. No stray flakes here, they are all sealed in! And self-adhesive, YES please!

Card two uses the same images, but changed up just a bit. Instead of no-line, it’s heat embossed. In place of the Modern Label stamp, a Modern Label die is used.

The chipboard die cut shape was then heat embossed 3-4 times with Versamark ink and Gold embossing powder. Easy as can be, just let it cool to the touch between layers.

The Hello Hummingbird also has a touch of heat embossing of his own. The first layers, the wings/chest/beak areas are in Cali Blue, Deep Sapphire and Noir. The back is in Hot Tourmaline and embossed in clear embossing powder for the detail layer. The throat is first two toned in Coraline and Valentine Red, and the detail layer is in Lipstick Red.

Couture Mix sequins from Curtain Call and a white embossed sentiment strip finish off this beauty.

Thank you for visiting today and don’t forget to submit a card for the current Ton Challenge for your chance to win $50 gift code to the shop!

Hello Gorgeous

Welcome to The Tons Stamps blog, The Season! We are so glad you have popped in for a visit today. For this post I’d, Janette, like to share with you Hello Gorgeous. It is a combination of Always Cherry Blossoms and Marvelous Perfumes.

IMG_5298

I began by stamping Always Cherry Blossoms in Cosmopolitan Hybrid Ink and Marvelous Perfumes in Versamark to heat set in Gold Tinsel embossing powder. I broke out the oldies, but goodies, Twinkling H2O’s. They are super shimmery watercolors each in their own little pot. I used them to color both stamped images.

I carried the sparkle to the background by continuing with the Twinkling H2O’s. I used a white shimmer and added gentle color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in Persian Blue and Deep Violet by coloring into the wet shimmer. Never enough sparkle, right?!?

While the background was drying I die cut the blossoming branch and perfume bottle. For the final touches I stamped “Hello Gorgeous” in Noir, added Dew Drops and Glass Slipper Sequins after tucking the bottle into the branches and adhering.

Photography just doesn’t capture the shimmer going on here. It is impressive. I’ll be writing a sweet sentiment on the inside, reminding someone special how beautiful they are, and wishing them a snail mail Happy Mother’s Day.

And that I wish for you too!

Love and hugs to all those moms out there. To the ones who are biologically and those who chose to be otherwise, may it be for pets, siblings, or neighborhood kids. Kudos, amazing mamas – you deserve the whole week!
