Hibiscus & Hummingbird

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far! It’s TaeEun here today with a card featuring two digital cut files from digital category of The Ton’s online shop. I combined Hibiscus Layered Coverplate Bundle SVG cut file and Hummingbird Layering SVG cut file to make my card.

First I resized the hibiscus and the hummingbird on Cricut design space as I wanted. Then I cut the layers of the hibiscus and the hummingbird from white cardstock.

TT0807 CU3 WMx

I colored the layers using alcohol markers and assembled them together. I left the outline cuts uncolored, then adhered them on the layered images.  I didn’t color the base layer of the hibiscus completely so that the strokes of the markers can be seen. For the hummingbird I chose purple and gray combination. I went over the hummingbird with a clear glitter pen after coloring was done and added some sparkly Stickles on his wings and the neck. I also added yellow Stickles on the stamen of the hibiscus.

To create the background I did watercolor wash in red and purple on a watercolor paper panel using Color Burst. I also added white and purple splatters on it. I adhered the background panel flat on a white cardbase, cut a white frame using two Double Stitched Rectangle dies and foam mounted it on the background. I then added the hibiscus and the hummingbird using foam adhesives. The sentiment from Summer Blooms set was white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and added onto the card.

Coverplate SVG Cut Files

Hello everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of cards I made using our new digital cut files. And also I used the beautiful Abstract Peonies set from May Release for the first card.

Effie has designed beautiful layering floral cut files, cut files for stencils, coverplate cut files along with some very unique designs like Crashing Wave Layering Coverplate cut files. You can find them all in the digital category of The Ton shop. Stop by and take a look, if you haven’t done it yet. You don’t want to miss them out!

For my first card I used Garden Foliage coverplate as the backdrop for the floral cluster created using Abstract Peonies.

TT0603 GF 1 WM

I started off by stamping the peony flowers and leaves from Abstract Peonies set. I used Vanilla Frosted cupcake, Beach Blondie, Amber Citrine for the yellow flower and Peach Blossom, Coralline Hybrid and Coral Cavern for the coral one. The layers of the leaves were stamped in Bright Emerald and Hot Turmaline.  I then added the outlines and stamens of the flowers in Noir. I fussy cut all the images and set them aside.

TT0603 GF CU2 WMx

Next I cut the Garden Foliage coverplate from a heavyweight white cardstock panel with my Cricut. I then started making the background with a watercolor wash. In order to match with the colors I used for the florals, I chose sap green, naples yellow, cerulean blue and chartreuse Color Burst for the background. I first scattered the pigment powder on a watercolor paper panel and sprayed clear water. I repeated the process until I have a result I was happy with.

Tt0603 GF 3 WM

After the background panel was completely dry I adhered it on a white cardbase, added the Garden Foliage piece onto it and arranged the peony cluster as shown in the picture.  I white heat embossed the sentiment from Happy Florals set on a strip of black cardstock and added it to the card. I finished off the card with some Smoked Emerald and Glass Slippers sequins.

The next card is showcasing Anemone Bunch Coverplate SVG cut file.

TT0603 AB 1 WM

Actually this card design has started with a mistake. The first cut was failed as I chose a wrong pressure of the blade so that the image wasn’t cut through. I used the failed one as the base. I could color the image as I had the outlines traced with the blade 🙂 ! I used Copic markers to color the flowers and leaves. I then blended Lemon Drop, Soft Garden and Soft Garnet in the background.

TT0603 AB CU4 WMx

After splattering opaque white ink on the whole panel I let it dry. I cut Anemone Bunch Coverplate once again from a heavyweight white cardstock this time with the right pressure. I mounted the colored panel on a white cardbase and adhered the Anemone Bunch Coverplate on it.

TT0603 AB 3 WMx

The sentiment was also cut using a digital cut file. It is one of the sentiments included in Mod Scripty Sentiments SVG cut file. I cut it three times from some white cardstock, stacked them together and added it onto the card. I then colored a strip of white cardstock using orange and yellow Copic markers and white heat embossed the sentiment from Brushed You set on it.  I cut it in a banner and glued it below “you”. I finished off the card by scattering some Glass Slippers Round Confetti.

That’s it for today!

Thank you so much for looking! Hope I was able to give you some inspiration for a crafty day!

Happy Crafting!

Digital Printables and New Background Stamps for Holiday

Hello and happy Friday, everyone! It’s TaeEun here today with three holiday cards and tags! I used some of our new background stamps released in November and digital printables from our store.

Let’s start with a couple of shaker cards.

TT1207 all WM

Recently I played with our new digital items. I foiled some of in black printed Christmas Trees and I thought I could use the negative pieces of the beautiful foils to make shaker cards. So I made two of them 🙂 !  The golden Christmas tree was turned into a tag and the teal one was used on a card in my previous post.

TT1207 1 2 WM

To create the front panel of this card I cut the Christmas Tree from a A2 sized white cardstock and blended Pink Derby, Red Sangria Hybrid ink and Soft Garnet on the panel. I then stamped Modern Plaid Cling background stamp in Hampton white pigment ink on it. I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle Die.

TT1207 1 CU1 WM

I adhered the negative gold foil of a Christmas Tree and a clear acetate piece behind the shaker window. To make the background I blended Soft Garden and Caribbean Turquoise on the center of the cardbase, added white dots using a white gel pen and adhered some sequins from Misty Mint Couture Mix which I used to fill the shaker along with Pink Blossoms Couture Mix. I gold heat embossed the tiny snowflakes from Holiday Ballet stamp set on some white cardstock, cut it with the coordinating dies and blended Soft Garnet on some of the snowflakes. I added them as tree decorations to finish off the card.

TT1207 1 tag WM

I made the golden Christmas Tree into a tag. I’ve made more tags with the colorful Christmas Tree by simply printing and cutting them.

TT1207 tag WM

The making process of the second shaker is actually the same as the first one.

TT1207 2 2 WM

This time I white heat embossed the Confetti Party Cling stamp on the front panel and blended Violet Fringe, Deep Sapphire, Cali Blue and Hot Tourmaline .

TT1207 2 CU new

The blue to pink ombre background was created by blending Cali Blue, Caribbean Turquoise, Soft Garnet and Red Sangria Hybrid ink. To fill the shaker I chose Midnight Frost Couture Mix and Light Blue Topaz Sparkling Clear sequins.

TT1207 3 3 WM

The next holiday card is showcasing Holiday Ornaments Printables. This file includes black and colored version of Christmas ornaments. I printed the black ornaments to foil them in various colors.

TT1207 3 CU1 WM

The foiled ornaments were fussy cut ( You can use the coordinating dies of Holiday Ornaments stamp set.). I adhered some Adhesive Foil Paper Gold as the cap on the ornaments.

TT1207 3 4 WM

I made the background panel using Gansai Tambi watercolor in purple, blue and pink on some watercolor paper, cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle Die and foam mounted it on a pink cardbase.  The gold heat embossed sentiment is from Blizzard Hugs set. I then added the ornaments with a golden thread onto the card using some foam adhesive.

That was the last card I made for today’s post! Hope I was able to inspire you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

TaeEun

Holiday Cards and Tags

Hello everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start!

It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of holiday cards and some tags to share with you! I used Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die Bundle, Holiday Chic Tags and some new digital cut files and printables from our store. A festive poinsettia is hiding in the inside of one of the holiday cards, made using Pop-Up Poinsettia standalone dies 🙂 .

Let’s get started with my first Christmas card with the Pop-Up Poinsettia. For this card I used Mittens Buildable Cut File.

TT1126 2 3 WM-

To start off I white heat embossed Christmas Sweater on a Canson watercolor paper. I cut a pair of mittens included in Mittens Buildable Cut File from the panel placing the mittens as shown in the picture.  I colored the negative panel in soft green and yellow tone using Color Burst and lots of water. The mittens were colored in bold red.  I cut the mittens once more from some red fun foam to raise them.

TT1126 2 CU2 WM-

The background panel was cut using Double Stitched Rectangle die and adhered flat on a creme cardbase and I placed the red fun foam and the red mittens on it.

TT1126 2 CU3 WM.jpg

The sentiment is from Holiday Chic Tags set. I white heat embossed it on a scrap of kraft cardstock on which I stamped woodgrain pattern using Buildable Woodgrain in Warm Hazelnut and cut it using the small rectangle die from Holiday Chic Tags.

Before I foam mounted the sentiment I adhered a red twine connecting the mittens on the card so that it looks like the mittens are hanging underneath a shield.

I embellished the mittens with some white felt, red bow and red rhinestones.

TT1126 2 in 2 WM

The Pop-Up Poinsettia was cut from some red and green Vellum and arranged on the inside of the card. As the vellums are thinner than print paper it isn’t bulky at all and the surprise is guaranteed 🙂 !

TT1126 2 4 WM-

To make my next card and the tags I used our new Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die Bundle.

My second card was actually made after the tags were done. As I used the silver glittery snowflakes on the tags I had the silver panel left. So I decided to make a card using it.

TT1126 1 1 WM

To start off I blended Hollywood Star on my white cardbase in ombre and adhered the second layer cut from Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Silver using Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die on it. The first layer was cut from some Shimmery cardstock and adhered onto the card.

TT1126 1 CU3 WM

To match with the snowflake theme I chose a Christmas tree with the sentiment “Let it Snow” from Christmas Tree Printables. I printed it with my laser printer and foiled it in teal. I then cut it with my cutting machine (you can use the coordinating die of Christmas Tree set) and foam mounted it on some silver thread. I really like the shine and sparkle of the silver glitter paper and teal foil!

TT1126 1 3 WM

I made six tags from three die cut A2 panel cut using Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die Bundle.

TT1126 Tag all WM

I blended Hollywood Star, Plum wine, Violet Fringe, Cali Blue, Deep Sapphire and Found Topaz on a A2 sized white cardstock. I die cut the panel using first layer (larger snowflakes) of the Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die Bundle. The second layer was cut from Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Silver as mentioned above. I cut one more A2 sized white panel using the first layer. I then cut three tags using Holiday Chic Tags dies from each A2 panel.

TT1126 Tag 4-6 WM

I cut some tags from white and light blue cardstock as the base layer of my tags. The silver glittery snowflakes were adhered on the color blended tags and the color blended snowflakes were inlaid on the white tags.

TT1126 Tag 1-3 WM new

The sentiments are all from Holiday Chic Tags stamp set, some are silver heat embossed on vellum some are black heat embossed on vellum or on white cardstock. The vellum sentiments were adhered flat on the tags and the “for you” on white cardstock was fussy cut and foam mounted.

Thank you so much for visiting our blog today! Hope you could get some inspiration for your holiday cards and tags!

Hugs,

TaeEun
