TheTon-COFFEELOVERSHOP-LauraJane

Fall always reminds me of the summer I witnessed a migration of MONARCH butterflies …way back in 1981, hence the butterflies on my card.

The coffee BREW in the cup is a mix of  Honey Gold Glitter and Metallic Copper Penny Nuvo DROPS painted on with a paint brush.

2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Coffeebloghop

Hi everyone!   It’s TaeEun here with a very special post. We are so excited to join the super fun 2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  The Ton is proud to be a super sponsor and flash sponsor for this hop. You can link up your newly created coffee, tea, and/or cocoa projects with Spring theme for a chance to win many prizes, including three (3) $10 gift certificates to The Ton!

This hop runs from Friday, March 24 – Friday, March 31. Winners will be announced on Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog on Sunday, April 2nd. See all the details HERE.

I made a card using our Tea Party stamp set as main element and added a bouquet of roses using small rose image included in the Scripty Alpha Lower stamp set to give the card a fresh and warm feeling of the Spring 🙂 .

Coffee 1WM

As I wanted water color the images, I used Bristol smooth paper. I stamped the tea cup set on the right with polka dot first in embossing ink and heat embossed them using Rose Gold embossing powder. After masking the first set, I stemped the mirror image of the cup on the left using the Mirror stamp. I used for this a black pigment ink so that I could heat emboss the cup in Rose Gold as well. I heat embossed the rose pattern on the second cup in rose gold. I masked the cup, then stamped and heat embossed the saucer.

To create the rose bouquet in the vase I used several stamp sets. The vase is from Lone Poppy, stamped in Crystal Pewter. The roses are from the Scripty Alpha Lower stamp set. I stamped three roses, two in Coralline Hybrid and one in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake (I stamped it without cleaning the stamp after using it with Coralline, so that it looks yellow-orange.). To stamp the stems and leaves I masked the roses. I borrowed the stem from Fresh Cut Garden Roses, stamped using Soft Garden and Bright Fern. The leaves are from the Wild Peonies stamp set.

After done with stamping, I colored the image using Zig brush markers and blended Coralline Hybrid and Vanilla Frosted Cupcake on the bottom part of the card. The sentiment is from the Caffeine Crush set. I stamped it in Noir on some white cardstock and again in embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. I cut it in a fishtail banner and matted it with a orange strip I made by blending Coralline Hybrid.

Coffee CU1WM

To assemble the card I cut the front panel using the biggest Double Stitched Rectangle die. To trim the left edge I positioned the die slightly to the right and cut the panel again. I added a strip of rose gold glitter tape on the left edge of the card base and glued the panel flat on it. The sentiment was foam mounted. I finished off the card by adding a few sequins from Flamenco Sunset, I Dream in Peach, Cinderella’s Ride Couture Mix and Glass Slippers sequins mix.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Don’t forget to hop over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog with a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa ready in your hand 🙂 , as there are so many other participants playing along in this hop.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Hopping!

Hugs,

TaeEun

2016 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Hey everyone, Jenny here!  We are so excited to join the super fun 2016 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog HopThe Ton is proud to be a super sponsor and flash sponsor for the this hop. You can leave comments and/or link up your newly created coffee, tea, and/or cocoa projects (Fall Theme) to the hop by 7PM PST each day for a chance to win many prizes, including three (3) $10 gift certificates to The Ton! This hop runs from Friday, September 23 – Friday, September 30. Winners will be announced on Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog on Sunday, October 2nd. See all the details HERE.

For this fabulous blog hop, I created a fun coffee shaker card! Yes, those are real coffee beans in the shaker! I thought it’d be fun to put real coffee beans instead of sequins for a change.

I used our Hug in a Mug stamp set, Caffeine Crush Sentiment stamp set, and few of our beautiful gilding to create this card. This Hug in a Mug stamp set is so easy to use, and you could stamp different latte arts on your cups! How fun is that?!! As a daily latte drinker, it’s a no brainer that I love this set dearly! The Caffeine Crush Sentiment stamp set has lots of clever and fun coffee related sentiments, so if you are a coffee lover, this set is a must-have for you! Without further ado, here is the card!

  • I started the card by stamping the mug image from our Hug in a Mug stamp set on a 140lb watercolor paper in our watercolor safe Noir dye Ink. This ink is very crisp so it’s perfect for stamping images on textured watercolor papers. I tried to scatter the mugs across the panel randomly looking as possible.
  • I stamped the solid coffee liquid image inside the mugs in our Found Topaz dye ink to lay down the base color. I purposely stamped lightly to give room for watercoloring. Then I filled in the mug in different brown watercolors. I also colored the background in green color. I used Mijello Gold Mission Watercolors for this project, except Red Gold Gansai Tambi watercolor for the mug handles.
  • When the watercolored panel was completely dry, I cut down the panel to a square slightly smaller than 6″x6″. Then I used 2 largest dies from our Double Stitched Circle dies.
  • I stamped the latte art images on the mugs only on the most outer frame with embossing ink and heat embossed in white.
  • I stamped the sentiment from our Caffeine Crush Sentiment stamp set on the central circle piece in embossing ink and heat embossed in gold. This sentiment just cracks me up! lol!
  • I built the shaker frame by adding acetate and foam tapes and filled the shaker with real coffee beans. I had to use 4 layers of foam tape to give enough room for the coffee beans to shake. I sealed the shaker frame with our Gold Adhesive Glitter paper. I pealed the backing of the Gold Adhesive Glitter paper  and mounted the shaker on the 6″x6″ card base.
  • I adhered our beautiful Gold Glitter tape (thin) on the edges of the shaker and added gold metallic thread to add interest.
  • I finished the card by adding our Medallion Gold and Glossy Black sequins.

Hey everyone, Effie here!  We are so excited to join the super fun 2016 Summer Lovers Blog Hop!   The Ton is proud to be a super sponsor and flash sponsor for the this hop. For today, I designed a bright teacup and floral card.  I started off by stamping our lovely teacup from our Tea Party set in our Noir Dye Ink. Then I stamped the solid body portion of the cup with our new Caribbean Turquoise Dye Ink.  I stamped the saucer in the same bright teal ink on a separate piece of cardstock (this will be my panel on my card).  Then I gold heat embossed the different elements of the teacup and saucer that come with the set.  I fussy cut the teacup (this will go over my saucer as I assemble the card later on)

Next I stamped the floral blooms from our new Always Cherry Blossoms set in our copic friendly Caviar Hybrid Ink on separate cardstock.  Then I colored them in with various pink copic markers and fussy cut them out.  Next I die cut a circle on printer paper using our Double Stitched Circle dies. I used the negative of the die cut to create a stencil so I could blend a sunny yellow circle at the corner of my card panel.  I blended the body of the sun with our Lemon Drop Dye Ink.  I peeled the stencil off and adhered the positive portion of the die cut (the actual circle) and temporarily adhered it to my blended yellow circle.  I then masked portions of my card panel along the yellow circle with washi tape to blend some rays coming out of the sun using the same Lemon Drop Dye Ink.

After I finished blending my sun, I popped up the teacup over the saucer.  Then I popped up some of the cherry blossoms alongside my teacup.  Next I stamped the heart steam from our Teacup Party over the teacup in our Warm Hazelnut Dye Ink.  The additional steam elements you see around the heart is actually stamped with the small flourishes from our Holiday Flourishes stamp set.  I colored over the steam heart and swirls with some Wink of Stella.  Next I gold heat embossed the sentiment from our Caffeine Crush set on a separate piece of black cardstock. Then I fussy cut it out and popped up onto my panel with some foam tape.

Next, I trimmed my panel about 1/4 inch.  I put down a strip of Glossy Fine Glitter Gold Adhesive Paper on the edge of my side folding cardbase.  I adhered a black strip of cardstock over the glitter.  Then I adhered the panel over my base.  I finished off the card by adding Glass Slippers and Matte Gold sequins onto my card.

Videos: Caffeine Cards

hug mug2.jpgHello and Happy Sunday! I’m back with my weekly video and blog post.  For today, I created two caffeine themed cards to celebrate the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop that is going on right now!  We are a Super Sponsor so make sure you check out this post (our post) and the official blog for more information including giveaway opportunities!

hug mug.jpg

For my first card today, I used our Hug in a Mug stamp set to create a fun shaker card!  Please enjoy the video 🙂

First I stamped the mug on an A2 sized panel in our Caviar Hybrid Ink.  Then I took the solid stamp within the set and stamped the insides of the mug using our new Cocoa Collection inks (Warm Hazelnut Dye, Found Topaz Dye and Aspen Cocoa Dye).  Then I stamped all the foam art within the mugs with our Hampton White Pigment Ink.  To give the mugs a bit more depth, I heat embossed the edges of the inside of the mug with some white pearl embossing powder. I also colored the outside edges of the mug with copic markers (C5, BG70 and C1) to ground them onto the panel. Then I took the adorable mini heart stamp in our Purrincess set and stamped them all over the panel with our Warm Hazelnut Dye ink.

hug mug3.jpg

Next I die cut the shaker window with our new Double Stitched Round dies.  I filled the window with our Toasted Almonds 5mm, Burnt Caramel 4mm, Dulce 6mm and Creamy Toffee 10mm sequins.  I topped it all off with some bright silver mini stars!

tea party.jpg

Next up is my Tea Party card!! I especially love how this one turned out because of the gorgeous blue and gold color combination.

I started off by stamping the sentiment (Caffeine Crush) on an angle with our Light Onyx Dye ink.  Then I stamped the border from our Tribal Chic Borders set above and below the sentiment.  I masked the borders and sentiment with some washi tape and then stamped the teacups in Versamark ink over the entire panel. Next, I heat embossed the teacups with gold embossing powder (take the washi off before you heat your panel).

tea party2.jpg

Then I stamped the insides of the teacup with the floral print stamp in our new Sky Blue Collection inks. I also stamped the base and handles with the coordinating inks. I then die cut the middle portion of the panel out with the second largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangle die set.  I adhered the border right onto a side folding A2 cardbase and popped the middle panel up with some foam tape.  I finished off the card by adhering some light blue rhinestones.

That’s all for today! Make sure you follow us on Youtube to catch all of our videos! Thank you all for stopping by and see you next week 🙂
