Trio of Cards

Hi peeps! How’ thing going? Vera here today. Right after hurricane Harvey, I managed to get out of Houston for a bit to meet up with my whole family. I haven’t seen  my brothers for 3 years, so this was a big deal for me.

Anyway, after a few weeks of no crafting, I am back in full swing and I actually have 3 cards to share with you today. Booyah! 😉

First up is this magnolia beauty featuring the Magnolia Fields Cling Background stamp.

I start by stamping the image to a card panel and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then add some coloring with Copic markers. Once that done I adhere the panel to  the card base and add the sentiment from Occasion Confetti set and hat embossed it with the Rose Gold embossing powder.

Then I stamped, colored the bicycle and the flowers from Beautiful Day Bicycle set and die-cut it using its matching dies. I really love the way this card turned out and yes, I have a friend in mind to whom  this card will go to.

Next, I played with the new Waterfall set.

On a piece of cardstock panel, I stamped the waterfall image and the sentiment. Adhere the panel to the card base. Then I realized that this waterfall scene is perfect to combine with the majestic Eagle set. Having the Eagle matching dies definitely help making this card in a jiffy. Now, I have a masculine card handy (which is very rare for me).

And, last but not least, I played with City Girls: Book Life stamp & its coordinating dies.

I stamped and colored the girl with the book image first, die-cut it and then adhere directly to the card base. Oh and I kind of guessing where I want the sentiment and stamped that before I glued down the image. I also popped the book for extra dimension. Once that done, I stamped the Anemone Cluster Mini image, colored and die-cut it using the Anemone Mini Cluster dies. Adhere the image with pop-dots. And, voila, I am done.

So, there you go. 3 cards from me today that I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy making them. That’s all from me today. I have my mom in town staying with me for a while, so I am treasuring my moment with her. May your Friday  be a fabulous one. Cheers…

Hello, my name is Emily…

…and I’m addicted to flowers. Peonies from The Ton, to be exact.

I am so terribly, utterly thrilled to be doing my first post as a Design Team member for The Ton Stamps, and so it took me a few tries to create a card with which I was satisfied. (Perfectionist, much?) Anyway, The Ton’s peony stamps are amongst my favorite stamps… ever…. so I had to create a card marrying my two favorite things: peonies and watercolor.

peonycongratulations1

I started with a sheet of my favorite Strathmore cold press watercolor paper and heat embossed the blooms and leaves from Peonies 1, 2, and 3 with gold embossing powder. Peonies are out of season right now, so I wanted to come up with a color scheme that was a bit more seasonally appropriate than my typical pink peonies. (Oh, is there anything lovelier than a pink peony?) I decided on a red, black, and white color scheme with touches of gold, and so used my Zig Clean Color markers and Distress Inks in various shades of red and pink to watercolor my flowers. After they and the leaves were dry, I fussy cut them out and went to work on the background.

I wanted something relatively simple for the background, so as not to detract from the flowers, and so I grabbed the Polka Dot background… that thing is awesome. I hate having to try to line up dinky little polka dot stamps to cover my card front, and this massive 6×6 stamp makes life simpler. Anyway, I stamped the full stamp on some 6×6 card stock so that I could trim the sides down to the optimal size. For the sentiment, I took a strip of black card stock and heat embossed the sentiment (from Large Peony 3) in gold, then trimmed it down and cut flags on the ends. Tip: if you’re using an anti-static powder tool on black card stock, use a regular white pencil eraser after heat embossing to remove that unsightly white halo of powder.

The large scale of these fabulous blooms lend themselves well to large cards; in this case, I was able to create a 5×7 card. I arranged the blooms in a sort of swag on the polka dot panel, popping up the middle bloom to add some dimension. I adhered everything onto a black card base. I think I might be giving this one to my cousin for her wedding… These large cards are great for truly special occasions, and the wedding of my bff is a perfect excuse for this super-sized card!

Our wonderful design team has created beautiful cards with floral sets. We have two videos to share with you too!

Created by Jessica

This watercolored card was created by Jess using Wild Peonies and one more floral set debuting tomorrow 😉  She made good use of her watercolor brush pens for this card!

Mayline created some great color contrast with distress inks and white heat embossing for this card!  The sentiment is from a set debuting tomorrow 🙂

Mayline also tried out some gold heat heat embossing for this next card! How gorgeous is this? Check out the new sentiment stamp set debuting tomorrow.

Mayline created a clean and simple but eye popping background for this card! We are loving this navy and aqua color combo!  Again, check out our post tomorrow for the full release of the sentiment set for the sentiment used in this card.

Next up, I (Effie) created a simple set of notecards using a masking technique with our Wild Peonies set. Here is a quick video on how I made one of these cards!

Then we have two watercolored cards that Ruby made using our Get It Girl sentiment set (she also co-designed this set and the sentiment set that will be debuting tomorrow)!

Aren’t her watercoloring skills on fleek?  Ruby used her watercolor brush pens and her distress inks to watercolor these cards.  These colors are just gorgeous!!

Next up, we have a trio cards that Jess created using our new 6×6 Peony Garden Red Rubber Cling Background Stamp.  For this card, Jess creates a striking red and gold contrast but keeps it simple with her vellum banner!

For Jess’ next two cards, she heat embossed and blended some distress inks to create a beautiful tone on tone background!

Peony Garden - Copic Coloring
