Christmas Poinsettias

Hi all. Only 2 more days till Christmas! Of course, for today’s card I feel to be appropriate I should make a Christmas cards. Definitely too late to send it out, but I’d consider this early start to next year stash. 🙂 After looking through my collection, I decided to play with the gorgeous & classy Boundless Poinsettias.

To start, I made the background using Quilted A2 Coverplate die. I adhere this directly on the card base after trimming it slightly smaller. For the poinsettias I used Arctic Sky, Cali Blue and Periwinkle. Now, sometimes I got lazy in actually washing my stamp. I was originally planning on making turquoise poinsettias instead of blue & changed my mind. However, I just wiped the second layer stamp of the poinsettias and that’s why my second layer looks more turquoise than blue because it has left over residue. And, it came out pretty, so I don’t see any reason to start over and just continued layering the 3rd layer with Periwinkle. For the leaves I used Honey Dew and Meadow.

Now, since I grew up in tropic country, I thought it would be cool to mix it up a bit by adding some Multi Monsteras to the bouquet to add a hint of tropical atmosphere to the card. Adhere all the parts to the card. To add extra interest, I decided to add frame to the card to really make the middle part of the bouquet poop more. I used one of the cut out frame from the many frames that I got from using Rectangle A2 Frames Slim Border die. Add some enamel dot stickers and Merry Christmas sentiment from Winter Foliage set stamped with Hot Tourmaline ink. Of course, any Christmas card could use a little sparkle to make it more festive, right? So, I finish by adding ice stickles to the center of the flowers. Let dry and that’s it.

There you go. Last Christmas card for 2021 from my end. I hope you enjoy today’s card. And, to all of you who celebrate Christmas I wish you all a joyful and blessed Christmas. This year been crazy and to many may have been a tough year, and I wish you all peace and may we all be able to find joy in the small things like simply being with the your loved ones. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. Let’s remember the reason for the season and be kind to one another. Cheers…

Boundless Poinsettias

Hello and happy Friday! It’s TaeEun here today with a slimline holiday card! I used one of our holiday themed grouped layering stamp sets, Boundless Poinsettias to make my watercolored holiday card.

Boundless Poinsettias stamp is a beautiful poinsettia cluster image and I thought it would be perfect for a one layer design. As it is a grouped layering stamp set, there are small square layering markers. When I stamped the image I washed the ink off from the markers so that I got the image stamped without them on my card.

To start I stamped the second layer stamp of the poinsettias in Peach Blossom on a watercolor paper panel and added the second layer of the leaves in Matcha to the image. The second layer of the image shows me the nooks and crannies of the petals and leaves and I also can guess the outlines.

Next I watercolored the image. After done with watercoloring I colored the image again with Polychromos colored pencils to give it more contrast and splattered white opaque ink on the whole panel.

The sentiment is also from the Boundless Poinsettias set. I cut the colored panel using the second largest die from Slimline Scalloped Nested die set and gold heat embossed the sentiment on the panel. I foam mounted the panel on a dark red cardbase and finished off the card with a few Medallion Gold sequins.

That’s it from me ! Hope you’ve got some inspiration from my card!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a lovely weekend!

Poinsettias – New Grouped Layering Stamps

Hello and Happy Monday everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start!

It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of holiday cards featuring some of the new grouped Layering stamp sets from the latest release; Dashing Poinsettias, Pleasing Poinsettias, Holly Bits and Boundless Poinsettias.

For the first card I used the solo poinsettias and leaves from Dashing Poinsettias and Pleasing Poinsettias set along with the Holly Bits to make the festive clusters.
The Dashing Poinsettias has three solo poinsettias in different sizes and the Pleasing Poinsettias has three poinsettias in different angles in the similar size.

I stamped the poinsettias in pink, purple and red and the leaves in cool gray. The colors I used are listed below.

I cut them all using the coordinating dies and set them aside.

I ink blended the upper right part of a white cardbase lightly in Iris Blooms and splattered purple and white watercolor on it.

I cut the Mini Sprigs from some white cardstock and arranged them on the base of my poinsettia clusters. The poinsettias, leaves and Holly Bits were adhered using foam tape.

The white heat embossed sentiment is from Confetti Shapes Circle set.  To match with the leaves I ink blended the sentiment strip in Soft Ash and Periwinkle.

I finished off the card with a few Glass Slippers sequins.

The second card is showcasing the Boundless Poinsettias grouped layering stamp set.

I wanted the poinsettias to be two toned- pink and yellow (orange). So I stamped each layer with two inks.

The first layer of the poinsettias were stamped in Bubblegum and Amber Citrine,  the second layer in Dolled Up and Coralline Hybrid, the third layer were stamped in Deep Peony. The leaves were stamped in Meadow and Spring Salad.

I then colored the image with Polychromos colored pencils to add more detail.

To create the background I ink blended a white panel in Peach Blossom and Bubblegum and cut it with the Festive Folk Coverplate die.

The background panel was mounted flat on a white cardbase and the Boundless Poinsettias with foam tape on it. I splattered white ink on the card and let it dry.

The sentiment from Ribbons Holiday set was partially gold heat embossed and stamped in Basil Mojito. I cut the sentiment with the coordinating die and added it to the card. I finished off this card with some sequins from Raspberry Sparkle Couture Mix.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed looking my card 🙂 !

Have a wonderful day!
