Soft Floral Cards

Hello crafty friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!  It’s TaeEun here today with two soft floral cards.

For the first card I combined Watercolor Wreaths and Peony Terrace Cling background stamp as they have the same watercolor look. For my second card I created a clean and dreamy composition of florals and greenery using City Girls Book Life, Wild Peonies and Mini Wild Florals stamp sets.

Let’s take a look at my cards :)!

To create my first card I started by die cutting the floral wreath from Watercolor Wreath from a Bristol Smooth paper panel using coordinating die. I then taped the negative panel together to heat emboss the Peony Terrace on it in some white pearl embossing powder. I then stamped the floral wreath from Watercolor Wreath using Aquamarkers on the positive die cut. I colored the flowers on the stamp in pink or yellow and the leaves in green and stamped it. I then added details using Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment in Noir is from Penned Sentiments set which was stamped on a silver heat embossed banner from Basic Banners. I die cut the banner using coordinating die. To assemble my card I foam mounted the negative panel on a gray cardbase and placed the wreath, first a fun foam die cut and then the colored die cut. The fun foam is thicker than my foam adhesive, so that the wreath is popped up slightly over the front panel. I then adhered the banner. To finish off I went over the flowers with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle marker and added a few Glass Slippers Round Confetti around the wreath.

You can see the shimmer on the Peony Terrace background and the glitter on the wreath better in close up picture below.

My second card was made, inspired by the sentiment from Sunnies set. “You wake up fabulous.” Hope you can see what I wanted to represent 🙂 .

TheTon0727 2 2WM

To start off I stamped small greenery stamps from Wild Peonies and Mini Wild Florals stamp sets on a A2 sized white cardstock. The colors I used are Caribbean Turquoise, Bright Emerald, Cobalt Breeze and Ocean Teal.. I then stamped the lady from Born Classy in Caviar Hybrid ink on that panel and die cut it using coordinating die. I colored her with Copic markers. I added Ocean Teal on the bottom edge of the front panel by blending. I stamped the flower bouquet from City Girls Book Life set on a separate white cardstock, colored it with Copic markers as well and die cut it with coordinating die.  I then cut the part with two hands out and glued the bouquet on the hair of the lady. The sentiment from Sunnies was gold heat embossed on a strip of vellum. I adhered both ends of the vellum strip on the back of the front panel and mounted the panel flat on a white cardbase. The lady was foam mounted onto her place on the front panel. A coat of glitter was added on the flower bouquet and on the dress using Spectrum Noir clear sparkle marker. To finish off I added some sequins from Smoked Emerald Sparkling Clear Sequins mix.

Dahlia Close Up

Hello and happy Friday, everyone! It’s TaeEun here today with two cards made using Dahlia Close Up cling stamp. I’ve been seeing many fabulous creations using this stamp on social media and I love this stamp set too like you all 🙂 !

On the first card I used the Dahlia Close Up as the background for my main actress from Born Classy stamp set and on the second card I took the big dahlia as my main image.

This is my first card!

TheTon0310 1 3WM

To start off I stamped the Dahlia Close Up in embossing ink on a glossy cardstock and heat embossed it in silver. I dripped pink alcohol inks on it (I used Raspberry, Flamingo, Shell pink and blending solution), to move the ink I tilted the paper or blew through a straw. After done with coloring I went with a silver gel pen over the image lines to cover the ink on the heat embossing. The lady from Born Classy was stamped in Cavier hybrid ink on some white cardstock and colored with Copics. I then fussy cut the lady. I cut the image along the waist line as I wanted the background to peek through the vellum gown. I stamped the lady and the over layer of the gown on a vellum. I then fussy cut the gown part only to glue them on the lady after I silver heat embossed the sparkle.

I added a strip of thin Black Glitter Tape on the right edge of my card base, glued the colored panel with dahlia flat on it and added the lady. I gave her a glass of champagne with lots of glitter and shine of clear glitter pen and clear Pico Embellisher.

The sentiment is from Born Classy stamp set as well. I stamped it in Noir on some white cardstock and heat embossed it clear. I cut it in a banner, layered with a cardstock covered with black Glitter Tape and foam mounted it on the card. To finish off I scattered a few tiny flowers from Candy cane Garden and Cotton Candy Puff Couture Mixes.

TheTon0310 2 4WM

My second card was started with a trial to color silver heat embossed Dahlia Close Up on a black cardstock using Pearl colors. I used red violet and blue pearl. After coloring I cut the panel with my cutting machine using a cutting file I made for the shape as shown in the picture and foam mounted it on my card base. On the card base I splattered the same pearl colors and black ink. I made one more cutting file with similar wavy line for the sentiment, cut it from a clear acetate sheet and silver heat embossed the sentiment from The New Pretty on it. I added silver line on the edge using Sharpie pen and glued it on the card.

The sequins I used are from Garden at Dusk, Midnight Frost Couture Mixes and Glass Slippers sequins. I added three Silver Dew Drops and finished off the card.

Mirror Image Event with So Suzy Stamps

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! It’s TaeEun here today to share a card with you I made as a part of our February event: Mirror Image Event with So Suzy Stamps and My Sweet Petunia.

There is a list with links to everyone’s post on the So Suzy Stamps blog so you can come back and see the inspiration on a daily basis. You can get more information about this event and about the prizes on the So Suzy Stamps blog as well. We will also be sharing the cards on Facebook and Instagram, just in case you miss a blog post.

This is the fourth post on The Ton blog about mirror stamping, so I guess you know already how the Mirror Image Stamp works. But If it is the first time for you, you can watch a video tutorial here.

Let’s take a look at my card!

I chose the lady from our Born Classy stamp set for my mirror image. I stamped the original image on the right side of a gray panel in Peach Blossom and stamped the mirror image on the left side slightly higher. I then colored both with Prismacolor colored pencils and added gray shade around the ladies using Copic markers. For a dreamy look I made bokeh background by stamping solid circles from Bokeh Burst Round using Hampton white pigment ink. I set the panel aside to dry, then stamped poppies and leaves from Fresh Cut Poppies Outlines on some vellum in embossing ink and heat embossed them in white. I colored the poppies and leaves using Tombow markers on the back of the vellum and fussy cut them all. After the white pigment ink on the gray panel was dry I mounted it on the black card base with foam adhesive and arranged the vellum poppies on it as shown in picture. I added black glitter tape to the top and bottom of the colored panel.

I borrowed the wavy sentiment from City Girls Special day stamp set. I gold heat embossed the sentiment and added the tiny JUST FOR YOU from the same set in Grand Fuchsia. To finish off the card I added sequins from Glass Slippers and Purple Ballgown Couture Mix.

This could be a birthday card or congratulations card for a girl. That’s it from me today! I hope you enjoyed my card and give the mirror image a try!

Festive and chic

Good morning! Emily here with you today with a pair of chic and festive ladies (and a gent!). The fashionable figures in the Born Classy and Haute Wedding Dress sets are SO much fun to color, and I’ve colored them and one of the gents from Plus One using two different techniques to create a pair of haute holiday cards! Let’s get started on the details!

For my first card, I wanted to create a stunning figure surrounded by swirling snowflakes and color. What’s more festive than red and gold? I started by heat embossing the lovely lady from Born Classy, holding a glass of champagne, using gold embossing powder. I watercolored her with my Zig markers, adding a liberal amount of Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the draped portion of her dress. It kind of moved the color around, mottling my shading, but it made it look a little like tulle. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself. 🙂 I fussy cut the image instead of using the coordinating dies, because I had attached the champagne glass to her hand already.

For the background, I simply blended two different shades of red, Red Sangria and Valentine Red concentrating the darker shade in a swirling motion across the card, leaving some areas a little lighter to add some highlighting to the central figure on the front of the card. After I had finished ink blending, I added a bunch of snowflakes from Crystal Flurries and some dots from Holiday Confetti using Delicata Gold ink, taking care to follow the swirl I had created with my ink blending. I heat embossed some of the same snowflakes using gold glitter embossing powder, then used the same embossing powder to add my sentiment from Born Classy. I popped up the lovely lady in red in the center of the card using dimensional adhesive.

The Ton festive couple pencil WM.png

For my next project, I wanted to showcase the beautiful gown from Haute Wedding Dress. It’s such a classic silhouette that I think it could be used for other occasions than just a wedding… in my mind’s eye, I saw it as a beautiful emerald ball gown, perfect for a holiday soiree, complete with a handsome date. I stamped the beautiful lady and her date with black ink onto kraft cardstock, then used my Prismacolor pencils to color them. I die cut both figures using the coordinating dies, then turned to the card base.

I needed a larger canvas than just a typical A2 in order to proportionally accommodate the dashing couple, so I cut a 5×7 white card base. I wanted something festive for the background, and thought the Brushed Merry and Holiday Confetti sets would easily accomplish that. I stamped the greeting from Brushed Merry and heat embossed it in silver, then stamped the confetti in the corners using Deep Sapphire ink. The couple was popped up with dimensional adhesive.

And there you have it! A pair of chic, festive holiday cards with multiple techniques on each card… not exactly the best for mass production, but pretty nonetheless. I hope you’ve enjoyed these projects and they jumpstart some ideas for your own holiday projects! Have a fantastic day, friends!

Pink goes to Paris

Hello Everyone!  It’s LauraJane.  This past week I have been playing with the Born Classy stamp and Die sets. Yes, it was reminiscent of the many hours playing with Fashion Plates, without the frustration of pencil rubbings gone wrong:)) Since we are full swing into the coloring Challenge with Kathy @thedailymarker, I wanted to give coloring hair a try. BOY do I ever admire those that can color with natural looking highlights!

Here is my card:img_2756

I did go back with the Flamingo Pink Ziggy to add some shading to the Feathers in her dress.:))

There we have it…Playtime with LauraJane:)

Hope you are inspired to create something you LOVE too!

November Guest Designer: Stephanie Klauck

Hey everyone, it’s Stephanie and I am super excited to be back on The Ton Stamps blog today with a new card. When the newest release came out and I saw the amazing ladies and gent stamps, I was so excited. I love colouring the dresses and creating scenes and I could not wait to ink up the new stamps.

For my card today I used the Plus One stamp set and Born Classy stamp set for the main two images and then I added some greenery from the Floral World stamp set to look like mistletoe. I knew when I stamped the images that I wanted to make the card holiday themed, but I didn’t want to stamp a sentiment on the card front and take away from the scene. So I stamped the ‘mistletoe kisses’ sentiment from the Mistletoe Kisses stamp set on the inside of the card and then I stamped the mistletoe on the card front, to go with it. 😉

I did all of the stamping on Kraft card stock and then I coloured in the man and the woman with my Prismacolor pencils. I have been having so much fun falling back in love with coloured pencils (or pencil crayons as we call them in Canada) and the fashion images from The Ton are perfect to practice with and learn about shading and dimension and achieving sparkle! I coloured her first with holiday reds for her dress and some white gel pen detail to make it look shimmery and sparkly.

I then coloured her hair and skin and stamped the handsome tuxedo guy beside her. I coloured him with coloured pencils as well and gave him a standard black tuxedo with white shirt (so classic and timeless) and then I coloured his bow tie to match her dress. I love how the images pop off of the Kraft paper once they’re coloured.

I cut down the panel a bit, adhered it to some silver sparkle card stock and then I adhered the entire thing to a white top-folding card base. I completed the card by adding some clear sequins for some added detail and dimension.

Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I’ll be abck later this month with some more cards to share. 😉

Treat Yourself

Hello everyone! It’s TaeEun here today with two cards saying “Treat Yo Self”.

I used two chic and classy stamp sets from our new Release: City Girls (Retail Therapy) and Born Classy and their coordinating dies. I know many of you fell in love with this unique sets like me :)!

On the first card I’ve created a night city scene with three ladies enjoying their free time shopping and sightseeing. I started off by making the night sky with city light. I blended Lemon Drop, Coralline hybrid, Parisian Blue, Iris Blooms and Noir Couture colors, after I masked one third of the A2 watercolor panel. Some splatters using silver watercolor were added and some dots using gel pens. I then stamped the skyline of the city from the Vogue Skies stamp set in Noir dye ink and then once more in embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. For the walkway I stamped the bottom part of the Scenes: Dept. Store cling background stamp in Crystal Pewter. I watercolored the walkway in silver to give it some shimmer and added thin silver glitter tape underneath the buildings. I mounted the front panel on the card base using some foam adhesive.

The ladies, the little dog and the bags from the City Girls (Retail Therapy) stamp set were stamped using our copic-friendly Caviar hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers and cut using Coordinating dies. I glued two ladies and the little dog flat on the card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, which I silver heat embossed on some purple cardstock and cut into a banner. The sentiment was foam mounted on the card with a lady.

To make my second card I started out by stamping the flowers and greenery from Mini Wild Florals stamp set along the diagonal of the front panel. I used Soft Garnet, Orchid Crush and Rose Quartz for the flowers, Soft Garden, Bright Ememrald and Crystal Pewter for the greenery. I then added tiny flowers from Floral World stamp set in Iris Blooms as filler. I die cut the lady from the Born Classy stamp set using coordinating die out of the front panel and then stamped the lady in Orchid Crush on the die cut. I colored her skin and hair using Copic markers. To assemble the card I adhered thin strip of purple cardstock on both sides of my card base, the front panel flat on it and then foam mounted the lady in place. After I added shimmer on her hair and dress using Wink of Stella,I glued the silver heat embossed vellum part on the dress. The sentiments are from City Girls (Retail Therapy). To finish off I scattered some sequins from the Glass Slippers sequins mix.

I have one more picture to share with you. This is the second card before I added the vellum part. I was having a hard time deciding with or without…, till my  4 year old girl insisted on the version with the vellum layer :). I can’t say which one is more appealing to me. I actually like both of them. What do you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my cards today!

Have a beautiful day!
