Birthday Lanterns

Hi peeps. Vera here today with a weekend inspiration from The Ton.

I got to say that from the recent new release, the Special Day Lanterns is one of my favorite. I actually finished today’s cards a couple weeks ago, because I just wanted to keep playing with it.

First, up is this pink card.

For this card, I started by stamping the lantern with Caviar ink pad on a panel of white cardstock. Then I stamped all the other images using Peach Blossom, Hollywood Star, Soft Garnet, Lemon Drop & Arctic Sky.

After stamping all  the images, I felt it was a bit flat & I always like extra dimension, so I stamped & die-cut one of the lantern using the coordinating Special Days Lantern dies set and adhere it to the panel with foam adhesive. Somehow this little change make the card more fun in my opinion.

For the sentiment, I used the birthday sentiment from Toned Squares set. After making sure I am happy with the way it looks, I trimmed the panel and adhere it to the card base. Finish by adding some sequins mix from Pink Diamond Couture Mix.

Now, funny story on the next card. It supposed to be my original card for this post. I almost done with it and decided I messed it up when I added the border on the bottom & I wasn’t too happy with the color combo. So, I was going to throw it away. I started the pink card and change the color theme, the whole nine yard.

Well, cleaning up the table & about to toss this card, looking at it again, I ended up changing my mind, thinking that’s it’s not bad after all. So, I finished it & here it is.

Pretty much, same step as the pink card. This card is a tall card though, measured 3″ x 6.5″ . For the bottom border I partial stamp the frame from Pretty Mail set. Seriousy, when I first stamped it, I was like, darn it I went too far. The card now looks to busy. A couple hours later, I think differently. Hah!

I finished this card by adding some mixed size dew drops. And the sentiment is from Dearest Peony set.

So, does that ever happen to you? Where you’re going to trash a project & decided to continue & keep it after all? Part of it starts because I am big time into recycling & not being wasteful. So, that part of me, guilt trip myself for throwing good piece of cardstock & force me to really look at it & see if I can save it. I have to say at the end it turned out pretty good after all.

Well peeps, that’s all from me & my method of madness for today. I hope you enjoy today’s projects. Thank you for swinging by here and may your Thursday be an awesome one. Cheers….

Peony Blooms

Hi peeps! How’s it going? Vera here today to bring you some Friday inspirations.

I am still gaga over the latest release from The Ton. So much beauty in one release. Let’s get on with the 1st card, shall we?

I love, love, loovvveee the Peony Laurel. It such a beautiful set. So, for my card I first stamp the the Peony Laurel with The Ton Caviar Hybrid ink pad, die cut it and colored with Copic. Next, I work on the background and stamped the Toned Squares with Blue Diamond and Ballet Slippers.

Trim and adhere the stamped panel to the card base. Then I adhere the Peony Laurel with pop dots. Stamped the sentiment (also from Toned Squares). Then, just when I thought I am done, I saw one chickadee from Nesting Peonies floating between the messy pile on my desk (left over from previous project) and I decided it needed a home. Hah… so, it went on my card and it’s the perfect finishing touches that this card need.

Next, is another floral card. For my 2nd card, I played with Blooming Peony Garden cling background stamp.

I inked the stamp with Miami Cool ink pad. This is such a pretty blue, isn’t it? Then I die cut the birthday word using Bold General Greeting Word Plate dies directly on the panel. I want the word to pop up a bit, so I die cut and layer the birthday word from 3 layer of cardstock. When I adhere the stamped part,  I offset it slightly so a white  border will show to make the word more visible.

The word happy is from Beer set, which I stamped and heat embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder.

There you go. Two peony bloom cards that I hope you enjoy as much a I enjoy making them. 🙂 That’s all from me today and may your Friday be a fabulous one. Cheers…

Trio of Cards

Hi peeps! How’s it going? Vera here today to bring you some fun, crafty projects for this weekend.

I am an over achiever today… hah… because I actually have 3 cards to share with you. Let’ get on with it, shall we? For my first card, I used the new Geometric Circles Cover Plate to cut out the background out of gold pearl paper.

How gorgeous is this geometric pattern? I think it’s stunning and made such an elegant background. To soften the look I combine it with a set from previous release, the Fresh Cut Carnations stamp along with its coordinating diesAfter I layered the flowers on the card, then I stamped the thinking of you sentiment from Penned Sentiments set. Finished by adding some sequins from Mint Sugar Couture Mix.

The next couple cards I totally went pastel, cause I am ready for spring!! I had lots of fun watercoloring this card, using the gorgeous 2 Piece Foliage Coverplate Die.

I die cut this piece out of watercolor cardstock and did loose watercoloring on it. Once it dry, I adhere it to  the card base and finish it by stamping the sentiment from Large Peony 4 set and adhere some mix size dew drops.

Now, my last but not least card is a bit more brighter, using Best Day Ever Floral Coverplate die.

When I saw this dies, I was like oohh, ahh…., cause it’s just beautiful!! Just like the previous card, I die cut this out of watercolor cardstock and just watercolor the flowers and the leaves and leave the sentiment clean. I added an extra sentiment from Penned Sentiments set (I edit the sentiment by cutting out the scripty happy birthday part).

There you go, 3 cards using the latest 3 new dies from The Ton. I hope you like them and hopefully get you inspired. Don’t forget, The Ton also have monthly challenge and you still have a few more days to join our February challenge. Hope you can join us. That’s all from me  today and may you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Cheers….
