Have The Best Day Ever

Hi everyone. Vera here. The weather been so lovely here in Texas that I can’t help creating a project with spring feeling to it.

For my card today, I just had to reach this beautiful oldie but goody cover plate, called Best Day Ever. I feel like I didn’t give this cover plate enough love & it’s time to do something about it, because it really is such a pretty & delicate design. ūüôā
I am currently loving playing with alcohol pearl ink and just couldn’t resist to use it to create a pretty, colorful background for this card. I mean, how pretty is this rainbow background?

I love that you don’t have to have it look perfect. I pretty much just go back and forth a few times and that’s it. I used Yupo paper here and it helps in creating the softer color.

Next, I die cut the design and simply adhere it directly on top of the Yupo paper, trim them to be slightly smaller than the card base.

I was going to add butterfly to complete the card, but then I just have to use my favorite birdies from Nesting Peonies set.

I really love the way this card turned out. It’s always give me satisfaction when a card turned out exactly the way I envisioned it. Cause you know that’s not always the case. Hah…

I hope you enjoy today’s card as much as I enjoy making it. I wish you a beautiful weather and a beautiful day. Cheers…

New Coverplate Dies

Hello everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start! It’s TaeEun here today with three cards featuring our new Coverplate dies form February Flash Release.¬† In the first two cards I used Geometric Circles coverplate die cut as my backdrop for a tulip bouquet arranged using Loose Tulips and a¬†Large Florals Daisy. The last card is showcasing Best Day Ever Floral Coverplate die.

Here is my first card.

To start off I did some no line watercoloring on the¬†Loose Tulips¬†using Color Burst and cut them all out with Coordinating dies. Set them aside, I started making the background panel.¬† It was made using a kind of “smooshing” technique. I applied silver and peony pink Nuvo embellishment mousse on a acetate sheet, sprayed water on it and “smooshed”the colors on some mixed media paper. I then covered the paper with a scrunched cling wrap and let it dry. After it was dry I blended some pink inks on the left part of the panel. The¬†Geometric Circles coverplate¬†was cut from a silver glitter cardstock I made using¬†Glossy Fine Silver Adhesive Glitter Paper. I cut the¬†Geometric Circles¬†two more times from some white cardstock and stack them all together. I glued the background panel on a top folding white cardbase, mounted¬†¬†Geometric Circles¬†on it and arranged the tulips as I wanted, some glued flat, some raised using foam adhesives. I borrowed the sentiment from Coming Up Daisies.¬† I silver heat embossed it in a curved line on a white banner and added pink ink blending on the edges.

I used the silver glitter cut out pieces left from the first card for my second card.

TT0212 3 3 WM

First I cut a¬†Geometric Circles¬†from a white cardstock and inlaid the silver glitter cut out pieces into it. I heat embossed another¬†Geometric Circles¬†in Rose Gold and mounted it slightly off set on the silver panel. The second and the third layer of¬†¬†Large Florals Daisy¬†were stamped in Peach Blossom and Coralline Hybrid ink respectively and colored with Zig brush markers. The flower center was stamped in Beach blondie, Amber Citrine and Lemon Drop. The leaves were stamped in Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz. I then cut the images using coordinating dies and arranged them onto the card as shown in the picture. I heat embossed the sentiment from¬†Large Florals Daisy¬†in¬†Rose Gold¬†on a vellum banner and glued it onto the card. To embellish my card I added a few rose gold¬† flower sequins from Spring Fawn Couture Mix. I added a layer of clear glitter on the leaves but it’s hard to see here :).

With Best Day Ever Floral Coverplate die you can create a beautiful card so easily and quick.

TT0212 2 2 new WM

I cut Best Day Ever Floral Coverplate once from some watercolor paper and two more times from white cardstock and stack them together. I watercolored the front die cut panel and covered the sentiment with a layer of clear glitter. The background panel was created in the same way like the first card. I glued it on a top folding cardbase and mounted the colored die cut piece. To finish off I added some pretty sequins from Raspberry Sparkle and Pink Bokeh Couture Mix.
