Anemones & Butterfly

Hi peeps. How’s it going? Vera here today and I have a couple fun cards to share.

First up is a card I made using Trio Anemone Cluster Layering Dies.

For this card, I started by die-cutting all the Anemone layers from watercolor cardstock, except for the top layer, which I cut from black cardstock. Then, I watercolor the two bottom layer with different intensity and let them dry. Once dry, adhere all the pieces together and put aside.

Next, I work on the background. I watercolor the background, let dry and stamp the Peony Terrace Background with Blue Diamond ink pad.

Before adhering the background panel to the card base, I added a wide strip of black cardstock behind it. Then arrange all the flowers and adhere with foam adhesive. For the sentiment I stamped and heat embossed sentiment from Modern Labels.

Somehow at the end, I feel like the card have that old school look. Maybe because of the color combo that I used? Or maybe it just my imagination. Hah!!

Since I was in the mood of creating, I ended up making another card. This time using my favorite dies, the Monarch Butterfly dies.

Well, since I was in the mood to create, I ended up making another card. This time using my favorite, the Monarch Butterfly Coverplate dies.

I simply did alcohol ink on yupo paper for the background and while it still kind of wet, I laid gold foil paper on it. If you check my Instagram post, I had a little clip showing the shiny foil. I then laid the framed butterfly on top of it. For the sentiment, I used an upcoming alphabet dies that coming soon. I can tell you, I am in love with this dies set. I know, it such a tease, but trust me, it will be worth the wait!!

Well peeps, that’s all from me today. I hope you enjoy today’s inspirations and may your weekend starts off wonderfully! Cheers….

Trio of Cards

Hi peeps! How’ thing going? Vera here today. Right after hurricane Harvey, I managed to get out of Houston for a bit to meet up with my whole family. I haven’t seen  my brothers for 3 years, so this was a big deal for me.

Anyway, after a few weeks of no crafting, I am back in full swing and I actually have 3 cards to share with you today. Booyah! 😉

First up is this magnolia beauty featuring the Magnolia Fields Cling Background stamp.

I start by stamping the image to a card panel and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then add some coloring with Copic markers. Once that done I adhere the panel to  the card base and add the sentiment from Occasion Confetti set and hat embossed it with the Rose Gold embossing powder.

Then I stamped, colored the bicycle and the flowers from Beautiful Day Bicycle set and die-cut it using its matching dies. I really love the way this card turned out and yes, I have a friend in mind to whom  this card will go to.

Next, I played with the new Waterfall set.

On a piece of cardstock panel, I stamped the waterfall image and the sentiment. Adhere the panel to the card base. Then I realized that this waterfall scene is perfect to combine with the majestic Eagle set. Having the Eagle matching dies definitely help making this card in a jiffy. Now, I have a masculine card handy (which is very rare for me).

And, last but not least, I played with City Girls: Book Life stamp & its coordinating dies.

I stamped and colored the girl with the book image first, die-cut it and then adhere directly to the card base. Oh and I kind of guessing where I want the sentiment and stamped that before I glued down the image. I also popped the book for extra dimension. Once that done, I stamped the Anemone Cluster Mini image, colored and die-cut it using the Anemone Mini Cluster dies. Adhere the image with pop-dots. And, voila, I am done.

So, there you go. 3 cards from me today that I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy making them. That’s all from me today. I have my mom in town staying with me for a while, so I am treasuring my moment with her. May your Friday  be a fabulous one. Cheers…
