Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far !
It’s TaeEun here today with a floral card in a bold color scheme. I stenciled the gorgeous Sunkissed Dahlia by watercoloring the layers and stamped the outline using the Close Up Dahlia 2 stamp in Noir.
I began by watercoloring the Sunkissed Dahlia starting with the first layer. I colored the first layer in light pink and darken the color to stencil the next layers. You have to dry the panel between the layers for a better result. The image can become a little bit messy if the watercolor flows underneath the stencil. You can avoid that by reducing the water in your brush while stenciling. After I was done with the stenciling I stamped the Close Up Dahlia 2 on it in Noir. This stamp set from a previous release coordinate with the Sunkissed Dahlia stencils. The Close Up Dahlia 2 stamp has also leaves which aren’t in the Sunkissed Dahlia Stencils. So I watercolored the leaves after stamping. For a bold contrast I colored the background in black and let the panel dry.
Next I cut the panel using two dies from the Double Pierced Rectangle A2 Nested Die set. I adhered the center part of the panel flat on a black cardbase and foam mounted the frame. The sentiment was cut using the Bold Alphas Lower dies from some white cardstock and from red foam. I layered the die cut sentiments and attached it on the card. For some shine I went over the white die cut sentiment using a clear glitter pen and scattered a few Deep Pink Rhinestones on the card.
Thank you so much for looking!
Hope I was able to inspire you with my card today and you will give this technique a try 🙂 !
