Peaceful Peonies

Hi all. Welcome to the last day of January. Vera here. Today I have a couple stenciled cards that I’d like to share with you. I’ve been enjoying playing with the stencil collection that The Ton released for this year anniversary. Here, I am showcasing the Peaceful Peonies set.

I started by die-cutting a cardstock panel with Peaceful Peonies dies. Then I started stenciling from layer 1 to 4. The colors I used are Peach Blossom, Coralline, Iris Blooms & Soft Garden. The good thing about stencil is you can build up the intensity of the color. Yes, I only used 4 ink pads, but because I press the brush deeper and add more color to the brush, I can create deeper color on the second or third layer. And, also in my case, I actually used Copic as well. Here’s a look of my stenciled piece in progress.

When I am about ready to lay the pieces on the card, I realized that I could make completely different design by cutting the piece apart and I could end up with 2 cards. Sometimes I start a card with certain idea and sometime I just go along and decide things as thing progress. I started cutting the flowers apart and decided to stencil another same set and play with all the pieces to create my card. I used a soft gray cardstock as the base for my 1st card.

For the sentiment I used the sentiment from Baroque Frame set and finished the card by adding some Rhinestone Mix in Pale Orange Opaque. For my 2nd card, I used soft blue base.

On this card I used one of the sentiment from Rose Labels set and Rhinestone Mix in Seafoam Opaque. I love it when something unplanned resulted in 2 cards. I really am loving playing with this stencil set. That’s all for me today, peeps. I hope you enjoy today’s cards and to all my family and friends that celebrate it, as we’re entering February, I wish you all a happy Lunar New Year. May the new year be filled with many blessings.
