Hi all. Vera here. Today, I decided to branch out and do something outside my comfort zone. If you have followed my work for a while, you know I don’t normally use dark background. Well, not today!!
Yep, I figure it’s about time I try something different and I didn’t go half way, I go with black background. Am pretty excited with the way my card turned out. To start, I stamped and die cut a bunch of butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies 3 set. Colored them with Copic markers.
Next, I play around & lay out the butterflies till I find a composition that I love. Once I am happy with the way it looks, adhere all the butterflies with foam adhesive to a black card panel. Trim it and adhere it to card base. Then to create a frame look, I die cut the frame panel using Rectangle A2 Nested dies
I also added some shimmer to all the butterflies. It’s very subtle. Finish by stamping & heat embossing sentiment from Peony Memories Cardmaking set and some enamel drops.
Now, how about you? Do you usually use colored background or do you tend to stay with white background? Either way, it is fun to challenge ourselves to try something different. It’s totally rejuvenating. I love the way this card turned out. Although, I have to say, right after this, I created a card with white background. Hah, balance, right? Well peeps, that’s all from me today. I hope you enjoy today’s card and may your day be a fabulous one. Cheers….
A great card
