Wishing You The Best Birthday

Hi peeps. How are you doing? I hope you all stay safe and stay home during this uncertain time.

I try to keep myself occupied. I thought I’d be doing a lot of crafting, but in reality I feel like I craft less. Kind of hard to craft when I am anxious. But, I do notice that when I actually push myself to sit and just start stamping or coloring, I end up able to let go of my anxiety for a few hours.

I made this card last night and the springy colors reminds me of hope.

I’ve been playing with Spring Layered Alpha Stamp Bundle and after several tries, finally end up with color combo that I really love. For the letters I used Noir, Caribbean Turquoise, Azurite, Soft GreenSoft Garnet. I love that I can do the whole alphabets with a few extra vowels all at once. Die cut the alphabets using the matching dies.

I stamped , Peony Crush Cling Background to a panel using Soft Green ink pad.

As you notice it’s pretty bright green. The letters seem to just disappear into the background. So, I put this background aside and was going to go with all white background, because I really want the letters to shine and take the center stage. But, that’s kind of blah… I tried layering it with blue cardstock, but still not quite right.

I was starting to feel like my mojo not co-operating at this time. Started getting annoyed at myself, then low and behold I remember that little thingy that can make a background looks more subtle. Vellum! Yay…. So, back to the original green peony background.

Adding the vellum allowed me to keep the pretty background and let the letters take center stage at the same time. After arranging the word BIRTHDAY, I simply add a strip of sentiment on the middle to complete the card.

Phew… so close to giving up and thank goodness, my brain get a jolt. It made me realize how sometime I just need to look around and open all drawers to figure out what I can find to make things work. 🙂

I think turquoise and green is one of my favorite color combination. And, I still have more letters that I can play with to make another card. I just save those letters in a bowl for future use.

Well peeps, hope you enjoy today’s card & may be it will inspire you to take some time to craft a bit as well. Praying for everyone to make through this period safely. Sending virtual hugs for you all. Have a blessed day everyone.

Vera
