Congrats – Graduation Card

Hello friends & happy Monday!! You know that I’m all about the coloring & stamp layering, but sometimes you need a simpler, graphic card. Especially for a high school or college graduate when you have no idea where the card will end up when they move into a dorm or new apartment!! My best friend’s son is graduating from college soon, so I thought this would be perfect for him!!

I began by stamping the black background panel with the Confetti Borders stamp set. I stamped it along the top and bottom of the panel with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.

I die-cut “CONGRATS” from gold glitter cardstock with the Modern Alpha dies. (I love how the vowels are doubled in this!) I also cut the letters three more times from black cardstock, stacked and adhered them together for dimension.

“On your graduation,” from the Add-On Fill It In stamp set, was gold glitter heat embossed onto a black cardstock strip and matted with gold glitter paper. I trimmed the background panel slightly and added a strip of gold glitter paper to the top and bottom of the card base before adhering the background panel. I adhered “congrats” to the background, staggering the letters for a little interest, then the sentiment strip was popped up under it with a black adhesive strip.

I think this has enough sparkle to be festive, but not so much that it’s not suitable for a guy.

Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time with me today!! Have a great week!!!
